Chapter 27

Matilda helped herself out of the car, and mumbled a thank you to Alex standing next to her.

"Thank you so much, Mr Alex. You can go ahead, I will take a cab on my way back to the hospital." Matilda said, with a small smile on her face.

"If you're not staying long, I can drive you back. Just get the things you need, I will be outside waiting for you." He responded, and lean on his car, his hand rested in his pocket.

"Okay. Please come inside and have a seat, you can't stay out here." Matilda insisted.

Alex wanted to decline and stay back in the car until she's out, but he found himself doing the opposite.

"Okay, lead the way, please." He said, with his hands out.

They stride to the entrance, Matilda put in the password, and they walked inside. The first thing that caught Alex's eyes, is the same as what Xavier hasn't been able to take off his mind.
