I heard loud thuds, gunfire, I hear screams, and it’s too loud!
“Ma!! It’s too loud! I’m scared!” I shouted, trying to catch my mom’s attention. They both looked at me.
“Pumpkin, remember what Papa said about those noises?” I nod, “Then you and Mama should run and hide; the monsters are coming; Papa will make sure to protect you both, cause that’s what family does, okay?”
I nodded, unaware of the fact that it would be the last time I’d be seeing my Papa.
