Pinagmasdan ko ang sculpture na bagong dating. The surface gleamed faintly under the soft lights, its shape casting shadows against the wall. I ran my fingers lightly along the cool edge, making sure walang damage mula sa delivery. Miss Lana hadn’t arrived yet to inspect, so I took the responsibility of checking it first.

“Saan mo planong ilagay ito? May naisip ka na?” Vince’s voice came from beside me, calm but curious.

I shrugged, still studying the piece. “I’ll still ask Miss Lana about it. But yes, I already have an idea where it would fit best.”

He nodded in approval, his expression thoughtful. Carefully, I ordered the movers to bring it inside, placing it together with the other new arrivals. I checked every angle, making sure nothing had been scratched or misplaced. Only when I was satisfied with their safety did I leave the room and return to my tasks.

Later, I was browsing through files on my laptop when Vince returned. He was holding two cups of coffee, and without a word, h

“Who are you going to meet, Mom?” “I’m going to meet your Auntie Kaila, baby. Also your Auntie Jane. Do you want to meet them?” I asked, then fixed his hair. “Nariyan na si Kaila. Handa na rin ang pagkain ninyo.” Tumango ako kay Dulce at nagtungo na sa tanggapan ng bahay para salubungin si Kaila. “Elora! Oh my, I missed you,” Kaila cried just when she saw me. I smiled and hugged her. Just like what I remember her too, she looked the same. She just changed her hair color but she stil looked the same. I missed this girl so much. She continued crying on my shoulder. She kept on muttering that she missed me and she is happy that I am here. “I am so happy right now. Is that really you?” She then cried again as she looked at me carefully. “Kaila, calm down. Stop crying. Let’s go first,” I said the pulled her to the living area to take a seat. She was still looking at me intently. Her eyes were swollen but she stopp

“Ah, sorry Miss but you can not enter here, especially to see Mr. Kavanaugh without an appointment with him.” I nodded and flustered a smile to the lady. “I will just call him na lang,” sabi ko. I am planning to surprise Aaron with a cake I baked. “It’s fine, Miss. I know her. She’s Aaron’s girlfriend.” I turned to the man who spoke. My eyes widened when I saw who it was. He is the man I met in Lana’s house! How did he know that I am Aaron’s girlfriend by the way? That means he is really close with Aaron. Nagulat ang staff at hinarap ako. “I’m very sorry, Madame! I did not know that you’re–”Umiling ako at ngumiti. “No, it’s fine. Can I go to him now?” Agad siyang tumango at bahagyang yumoko. He just smiled playfully to me as were his hands in his pocket. He is we

I stood up, my knees weak, and headed toward the door of my house. My lips trembled as I bit down on them, hesitant yet knowing I couldn’t avoid what waited outside. When I slowly opened it, bumungad agad sa akin ang nakakunot ang noo ni Aaron. His eyes were sharp, narrowed with something I had never seen before. His necktie hung loose around his collar, the top buttons of his polo undone as if he had rushed his way here.My chest tightened. He looked different. He looked… furious.Suminghap ako nang bigla niyang itulak ang pintuan, forcing it wide open. The sound echoed in the silence of the night, startling me. I stumbled a step back, my throat dry, my heart pounding uncontrollably against my ribs. The look on his face pierced through me—cold, angry, betrayed. This was the first time I’d seen Aaron like this. The first time his anger was directed at me.“Aaron…” My voice cracked, barely a whisper, as his hand gripped my waist and in one swift motion, sinandal niya ako sa pader. His

I looked at my wrist watch and looked at Vince who was still working. “Vince. Mauuna na ako,” paalam ko sa kaniya. He stopped, then looked at his wrist watch. “Oh, I didn’t realize the time. Sabay na tayo. I’ll just get my things upstairs.” I nodded and arranged my things. I looked at the man who I saw earlier. “You looked familiar to me, that is why I was looking at you earlier. Sorry about that,” he said suddenly. I blinked, then tried to recognize his face but I didn't know him. “Let’s go, Elora.” I nodded and glanced at the man before walking away. Vince offered me a ride but I declined. So he waited for me to call for a taxi. I rested for a while then took a bath. I sighed and lay down on my bed. Should I call him? I don’t want

“Aaron,” I called his name out of shock. I thought he will go home in two days? But why is he here? He pulled me to his side while glaring at Vince. “Aaron–” “Get the f*ck out of my face. And don’t ever come near my girlfriend,” mariin niyang banggit sa bawat salita. I saw his clenching hands like he was about to punch Vince who was still not stepping back. Aaron is bigger than Vince. Aaron’s veins were visible on his arms. “Aaron, calm down,” sabi ko sa kaniya. I turned to Vince. “Vince, sorry but you should go home. Thanks for taking me home,” I said. I did not bother to smile because I don’t have the energy to. He nodded and sighed. Saglit niya pang sinulyapan si
