ELEANOR

The silence in Tristan’s office was deafening. The dim glow of the desk lamp cast long shadows against the walls, pressing down on all three of us. I sat across from Tristan, arms crossed, my expression carefully schooled into neutrality, but my mind was anything but calm. Maurice leaned against the far wall, his features drawn in deep thought.

Tristan ran a hand over his face, exhaling sharply. "Cedric knew. He knew about the supply routes, about our border patrols. He even knew Elle got the royal midwife position and he also knew Kate got enrolled in preschool in Nightshade already. There’s no way he got that information on his own."

Maurice's jaw tightened. "That means there’s a traitor in Nightshade. Someone feeding him intel."

I clenched my fists in my lap, nails digging into my palms. A traitor. The very idea sent a wave of unease coursing through me. Nightshade had always been my safe haven, a place where I had built myself back up from the ashes of Moonclaw’s betrayal

ELEANOR"So, what did you learn in school today, little moon?" Mom asked, brushing out Kate’s curls with gentle fingers.Kate beamed, her legs kicking as she sat between us on the couch. "We learned to draw shapes and spell our names! Miss Ava said I write my K funny but I still got star.""Of course you did," I said, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "You’re the brightest star in that school."She giggled and leaned against me, holding up her drawing like it was a prized artifact. I reached for it and smiled softly, letting the moment wrap around me like a blanket. Kate’s laughter. Mom’s hum of approval. The way the fading evening light spilled across the living room floor.I should’ve felt safe. But beneath all of it, my chest ached with something I couldn’t name. Something tangled and confusing and very much tied to a certain Alpha who had a habit of showing up in my thoughts when I least expected—or wanted—him."You’ve been quiet," Mom said gently once Kate had run off to my room to

TRISTAN My mind raced. I could still feel the warmth of Eleanor's skin beneath my fingertips, the press of her lips against mine, the way she had taken control last night. Every memory from our time together played in my mind, and I couldn’t shake the overwhelming sensations—how her touch had undone me, how she'd pleasured me in ways I hadn’t even known I craved. The cool breeze did little to calm the fire burning inside me. My thoughts kept circling back to her—Eleanor—and everything that had happened between us.Last night had been… different. She had taken the lead, completely dominating me in a way that made me feel like I was losing control. But it wasn’t just the physical connection that consumed me.I ran my hand through my hair, a sigh escaping my lips. I remembered how, during our intimate moment, her eyes had darkened with desire, how she had shuddered when my lips traced her neck, how she seemed to want me as much as I wanted her. But afterward, she had pulled away, just

BEATRICE"He is slipping, Beatrice. I see it in his eyes."Aurora's voice was hushed, but the urgency in her tone was sharp enough to slice through the dimly lit chamber. She sat opposite me, fingers clasped tightly around the silver goblet in her grasp. The flickering candlelight cast elongated shadows across the stone walls, painting our conspiratorial meeting with an almost poetic menace.I arched a brow, swirling the dark wine in my goblet before taking a slow, deliberate sip. "Of course he is. We expected this. The only question is how much longer before he completely unravels."She exhaled, her grip tightening. "He barely speaks unless it’s about them. He’s obsessed. Guilt-ridden, but obsessed all the same."I smirked, a cruel amusement dancing in my eyes. "Good. Let him suffer. Let him feel their absence like a phantom limb, aching and useless. That way, when we finally offer him reprieve, he will have no choice but to take it."She hesitated, her lips pressing into a thin lin

TRISTAN"Tristan," she said, her voice soft but resolute. "I need to tell you something. Cedric... he warned me. There’s a threat coming. A threat that involves both Moonclaw and Nightshade."Eleanor stood across from me in my office, her arms crossed, her eyes distant as she avoided meeting mine. The dim light from my desk lamp cast shadows on her face, highlighting the quiet storm in her eyes.I swallowed hard, the air suddenly feeling tight. "What kind of threat?"Eleanor shifted on her feet, biting her lip as she hesitated. "I don’t know all the details. But Cedric seemed... serious. Something's happening, Tristan."I felt the sting of her mentioning Cedric's name. The jealousy twisted in my chest like a vine, but I buried it deep. This wasn’t about him. It was about protecting her, protecting us. My pack. My family."Did he say anything else?" I asked, trying to focus on the matter at hand. The Mate Bond between us thrummed in the background, a constant presence that I couldn’t

ELEANORI had once believed that love—real, lasting love—could be built. That it wasn’t just about fate or the pull of instincts but about choices, about effort. Cedric had made me believe that. And then, just as easily, he had proven me wrong. At first, he had given me everything. When I arrived in Moonclaw, young, heartbroken, and desperate for something to hold onto, he had showered me with affection. He had whispered promises into my skin, had vowed that I would never regret choosing him. And I had clung to those promises, because the alternative—admitting I had made a mistake—was too terrifying to consider. But as time passed, the fire of his devotion dimmed. The man who had once chased me relentlessly, who had fought to win my heart, began pulling away. He buried himself in his duties as Beta, always too busy, always with an excuse. At first, I told myself that he was simply dedicated to his pack. But as the years stretched on, I could no longer ignore the truth—Cedric had fough
