Chapter 10: The Start of a Mission (Part 1)
When Sophia had gotten back to the Knights Association, she realized she made quite a fuss... indirectly. Her teammates, even her mentor, asked her what had happened. She made an excuse of getting lost in the forest, wandering in the jungle for a month before she finally got seen by some Higher Knights in patrol. She admitted it was a good excuse as the way she looked was really out of the jungle. Her hair was unkempt and her clothes were all tattered and dirty. She was somehow thankful for Elijah's help with tearing her clothes just like a month would tear it a little bit while on the run.

She knew element-based magic was difficult to learn, and if she ever wanted to master her two natures, she would have to start practicing now. A C-Class escort mission meant some trouble along the road, most likely bandits and thieves. None of Team Dylan had expected to be protecting a bridge builder. It was an island in the high tide and a large land that connected to the town of Treellen in the low tide. Anouk, the master bridge builder from Lak Point was a drunk, slightly miserly, grouchy old man, that disliked everyone but Major Dylan and kept insulting the younger Knights. There are three types of Knights in the association: (1) the High Knights who were the ones closest to the royal family of the Laera Kingdom; (2) the warriors, the Knights who received missions from the High Knights through the Head of the Knights Association, and; (3) the mentors, who mold the Knights for three years into strong, capable warriors. Major Dylan watched horrified as his students charged at the water clone. Leon created dozens of his own which dog piled the Aidan water clone. To be honest, it was too hard not to give away her secret under her teammates and mentor’s scrutinizing eyes. She had to be amazed at all times when she basically had seen all the techniques they showed from Elijah. She didn’t know how much more she could convince them that she had no knowledge of anything yet other than her by-book brain. Just like now. Sophia feigned a suitably impressed face when Major Dylan walked on water as easily as if he was walking on solid ground. All she could think of was how amazing it would be if they could not only walk on the water but also move around it… play with it. “All right, Sophia. This is the same concept as the tree climbing exercise, but more complicated and more advanced. Give it a try,” Major Dylan said from his place on the water’s surface.
