Chapter - [ 4 ]

[ Darius ]

“I missed you, baby.” Elena’s slender arms wrapped around my neck and she pulled me for a deep kiss. My hands circled around her tiny waist and I pinned her on the nearest wall.

My mind was screwed. I didn’t tell except Keith before leaving the pack, hoping to return before midnight. No one knows about the prisoner. I ordered everyone who captured her to keep their mouth shut. My parents shouldn’t know about her.

“What happens to you, Darius?” She cupped my face and with furrowed brows, she questioned me when she didn’t feel me reciprocating the kiss.

“A bad day but nothing to worry about.” I smiled and hugged her.

“I am not one of you but I can listen to your problems, Darius. You know I am always there for you.” She said looking into my eyes. I could see immense love for me in her eyes which broke my heart even more.

“I need you, Elena.” I joined our forehead and expressed my desire. Only she can make me forget this new mess in my life.

“I am all yours, Alpha.” She bit her bottom lip seductively and again locked her arms around my neck. I picked her and went into the bedroom.

Throwing her on the bed, I began to discard my clothes in urgency. Knox was continuously trying to stop me and the only way to silence him, was Elena. I had to be with her. I was naked in no time. She got rid off her dress. Her red lingerie turned me on when she laid down on the bed.

“Come to me, Darius.” She gestured like a seductress and I hovered above her.

“I can be rough, love.” I warned her. I am half beast and my nature could be fatal for her so I always try to be gentle with her. I can’t afford to hurt the girl I love.

“Don’t worry. I only wish to please you, Darius.” She said and kissed me. It awakened my desires and I pinned her on the mattress. My thighs parted her legs, I could smell her arousal. I wanted her badly but something within me was trying to restrain me.

“Oh, Darius, do you want me to ride you?” She asked me when she didn’t feel me moving further. Her eyes were hazy with lust.

I rolled down from her and went inside the bathroom to get a cold shower. When I closed my eyes before entering inside her, the pale and wounded face of my mate danced in front of my eyes. The icy cold water helped my arousal to cool down but my mind couldn’t find peace.

After taking a long shower, I changed into fresh clothes and looked for her. I felt guilty of leaving her. It was wrong, I made her feel abandoned and rejected. I spotted her silhouette in the balcony, she was gazing at the moon. I padded my way to her and engulfed her into my embrace.

“I am sorry, Elena. Please, forgive me.” I apologized for my behaviour. She is the only one who ever heard me saying the word ‘sorry’. I never yield to anyone.

She remained quiet and I sighed. It was getting more complicated than I thought. She turned around and our eyes met. She looked sad but she quickly masked it.

“It’s fine. You don’t need to explain me anything, Darius. I understand that you have some boundaries which you set before we started dating. Your world is different than mine. You are an Alpha. I love you no matter what happens.” She said with a big smile on her face. I leaned forward and kissed her forehead.

“I love you too, Elena. I only love you.” I expressed my feelings.

“Shall I make dinner for you?” She asked me.

“I wish I could eat your handmade food but I have to go back now. Some unpleasant event happened today. I need to be at pack.” I said apologetically.

Her face fell upon hearing my words, “I know you are not telling me something. You think I won’t be able to take it.” She said and for a moment my heart stopped beating.

“It’s not like that. What made you say this?” I tried to hide my discomfort. Fooling humans isn’t easy without using our powers.

“I know you for more than five years, Darius. We love each other because we know what goes inside us. You can speak to me.” She gave my answer. She has been with me in my thick and thins. She can tell when I am depressed.

I sighed and held her shoulders. It was going to be painful for both of us but I can’t keep her in dark for a long time. It’s better if I tell her myself.

“I found her.”

Three words, it was all I could utter and waited for her reaction. As expected, her face turned pale. She staggered back and her eyes welled up.

“You found your mate?” She questioned in barely audible voice and my heart broke seeing her like this.

“Yes, but she isn’t a problem. She can never replace you in my life, Elena. I swear. Tomorrow, she’ll be leaving for her pack. Nobody knows about her yet.” I tried to make her believe.

“Darius, both you and I know that it’s not easy. Your affection for her come out eventually due to your mate bond, it’s irreplaceable. I stand no chance in front of your mate. Your world will never accept me, I could get killed if your family finds out.” She cried shaking her head profusely.

I cupped her face and forced her to look at me. I felt angry. She wasn’t wrong. Mate bond isn’t easy to break for me since she is also an Alpha blood.

“Do not ever doubt my love, Elena. I’ll prove you very soon that I can make an exception. You’ll be my Luna soon.” I said and left the apartment to return to my pack.

I couldn’t wait for the morning. I had to send Celeste away before the dawn breaks and my father gets to know about her existence.

“Do not dare to hurt our mate for a stupid human, Darius. She is a gift from our goddess and I am not leaving her ever.” Knox warned me.

“Watch me.” I challenged him and drove back.

When I reached at the pack house, the place looked awfully quiet. The servants weren’t there, only few guards were at the entrance. I decided to call Alpha Paul first and about to move into my office when someone blocked my way. I growled to warn the person.

“You have a human’s scent on you, Darius? You again went to see that girl. Your father is waiting for you in your office. He isn’t in a good mood so keep your anger cool. I do not want a duel between my mate and my only son.” My mother’s displeased voice rang into my ears and I met with her cold eyes looking at me with disgust and pity.

My mind got alert.
