Be My Luna obediently

PROLOGUE

Natalie

"Stand up and let's leave," my foster mother, Jessica, rushed into the room with a worried look on her face.

Her action alerted and concerned me.

"What happened?" I asked as I stood up from the chair.

She ignored me and rushed to the closet. She pulled out some clothes hurriedly and forced them into the luggage.

"Where are you taking me to?" She dragged me out of the chamber without sparing a glance at me.

Before I could fathom what was happening, I found myself inside a black Porsche car with my foster mother beside me.

"Won't you tell me where we're heading to?" I asked as I placed my hand on her shoulder.

She looked outside the window with a worried look and said hastily, "We're leaving the pack for Paris."

What! I gasped out in shock and stared at her with a surprised look. "What's wrong? Why do we have to leave the pack for Paris suddenly?"

What was happening? A few days ago, she told me that she wasn't the one who gave birth to me. It seemed as though she was stylishly sending me away from the country.

"Are you trying to send me away?" I asked in a weak tone, and she scoffed.

Don't be concerned.

Even though I didn't understand her, I believed her. I was sure she wouldn't do anything to harm me. She has been nice to me, even though she wasn't my biological mother.

I kept quiet.

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up as she suddenly gasped out of shock. She stared outside the window with fear written on her face.

"He's coming after us. Drive this damn car faster," she yelled.

At that moment, I got confused and terrified. My heart skipped in fear as my gaze glimpsed a car that chased after us.

I was sure that the people chasing after us were evil people. Were they the reason she wanted us to leave the pack for Paris?

"What's happening, mum?" I asked, and she turned to me with a bead of sweat forming at the corner of her face.

Even though she wasn't my biological mother, I still need to regard her as my mother because she took care of me as her daughter.

She ignored me and told the chauffeur in a harsh tone, "Move faster."

Frustrated, the driver yelled back, "This is the maximum speed of the car."

The driver didn't focus on the road, so he couldn't see the lorry that was coming our way from another road. Before I could react, the truck collided with our car, and the car stumbled.

I opened my eyes weakly and looked around with my head banging in pain. My heart skipped in fear as my gaze landed on my mother, who was lying weakly inside the car with her head bleeding.

"Mother," I screamed out as I shook her body vigorously. Tears streamed down from my eyes as I stared at her weak and lifeless body.

It was a miracle that I managed to survive such a fatal accident.

I tapped her cheeks continually, and she opened her eyes weakly. She moved her head to my face and caressed my cheeks.

"Ru- run away from him," she said, even though she was in pain.

"Run away from who?" I asked with a confused look.

"Run away from my brother, Alpha Ryan," she emphasized, despite being in a weak state.

"Why?" I argued as I fought back the tears that threatened to pour from my eyes.

Why was she persistent that I should leave the pack because of him? My heart skipped as she coughed out blood.

"That's because he wants you to be his woman. He'll mark you as soon as he gets you and make you the Luna of the pack. Please leave. This is the passport,"

The statement of my mother surprised me. How could Brother Ryan be so selfish and evil?

Her revelation surprised me because Alpha Ryan was like a brother to me. I couldn't believe that he, despite our lack of any relation, could have such intentions toward me. And besides, my foster mother was his elder sister.

She forced her bloody hand into mine and said, with tears streaming from her eyes. "Please promise me that you'll run away Ryan and never have anything to do with him in the future,"

"I promise." the moment I uttered this statement, her eyes shut and her body became cold and pale.

"Mum," I screamed out, with pain burning through my heart.

"He's on his way. Leave the car." I looked up as my gaze landed on a man who was in a black suit.

I groaned out in pain as he dragged me out of the car. My entire body ached in pain, but it was nothing compared to the pain that burned through my heart.

The feeling of losing someone dear to me was painful and unbearable.

"You're lucky that I'm heading to Paris," the man said .

I was skeptical about going with him, but I knew I had no choice.

If I refused to go with him, then Asher would catch up with me, hence I would break the promise I made to her.

FEW YEARS LATER

"Ye, moon goddess, please help me, "I muttered beneath my breath in fear as I ran through the dark, thick forest.

I tilted my head backward as I heard the heavy footsteps of some men running after me. My heart skipped in fear as my gaze landed on the six hefty men who were in black suits.

They had been chasing me relentlessly for the past two hours, and it seemed they were not ready to stop. I was not ready to stop, either.

"Hey, wait there," my heart pounded heavily against its cage as a cold and dominant masculine voice echoed loudly in the forest.

My legs wobbled in pain that I could hardly move, but I wasn't ready to give up. 'I won't give up,' I said to myself, panting.

Why were they after me? What did they want from me?

I turned back as their footsteps became closer and louder. I wondered how I was going to get away from the mess I found myself in.

I looked up at the sky, ran through the dark forest, and prayed to the moon goddess to save me from the men who were chasing after me.

I didn't know what I could do at that moment. I couldn't scream even if I wanted to because the forest was far from the city, and I doubted if anyone would be in this forest to help me.

Unfortunately, I ended up being stranded.

I didn't know what those men wanted from me. I was coming from one of the best media companies where I worked as the assistant to the CEO of the company when I noticed the hateful glares of some men. Before I could react, they started to chase after me, so I had to run into the forest.

Running so fast through the thick bushes and trees, I stumbled on the floor as my feet hit against a log of wood lying on the floor.

I groaned out in pain as I crashed hard on the floor with a loud thudding sound. I tried to stand up from the floor, but I couldn't move a limb. I winced in pain as a pang of pain struck my head.

I tried everything possible so I could stand on my feet and keep up with the pace, but all my efforts to run away were futile. I couldn't feel my hands and legs anymore. It appeared as if they couldn't move.

I didn't pay attention to the blood that spurted out of my arm and continued to rub my hand anxiously against my swollen ankle.

My arms were burning with pain, but it was nothing compared to the fear that disturbed my mind.

Their dark and evil laughter echoed through the forest.

"Please help!" My throat burned with so much pain that I could no longer shout for help.

My heart pounded heavily as they made their way toward me with dark and proud smiles on their faces. One of them, who seemed to be their leader, strode toward me.

"Don't bother shouting about future Luna. No one is going to hear your voice," he said, and I cocked my eyebrows through my terrified expression.

Future Luna? What did he mean? I knew better to ask myself than him. I couldn't be Luna, right?

I was just a low-life wolf who went through a lot of pain and mystery just because of an Alpha that I wish I had the chance to kill.

Fear wouldn't let me question him because my life was at stake. I didn't know what they wanted from me and who they were.

"What do you want… from me?" I stammered in fear. He smiled gently as he stroked his chin calmly with his hand. His left hand was tucked inside his pocket.

"You will find out very soon," he said as he brought out a phone from his pocket. I stared at him with my expression clouded with confusion and anxiety.

What did he mean? What would I find out? What is he trying to do to me? These were the questions that flooded my mind.

"I have caught her, Alpha. She is with me," he said in a bitter tone.

He must be talking to the man who ordered them to kidnap me. I was captive to an Alpha.

My headache was that I couldn't think straight. As much as I wanted to know who ordered my kidnap, I also wanted to escape from them.

I bit my lower lip, trying to suppress the pain that burned through my entire body. My body ached in pain. I looked around trying to figure out a route to run to but I couldn't because I was surrounded by hefty men in black.

"Bring her home," I heard a cold yet cute voice over the other side of the phone.

I glared at the phone in the man's hand with a confused look on my face.

Why does the Alpha voice sound familiar to me? Do I know him before? Have I ever met him? These questions flooded my mind.

"Okay, let's get going," he said as he made his way toward me.

He held my wrist and dragged me up from the floor. I screamed out and struggled to get my hand away from his firm grip, but I couldn't.

"What home? I don't have a home. Let me go," I screamed out at the top of my voice, even though my throat burned with excruciating pain.

That was the truth. After I had left the run Red Moon pack with that man, I no longer considered the pack as my home.

I was sure their so-called Alpha would be hearing my voice since he had yet to disconnect from the call.

"Please let me go," I said with a weak and faint look. I stared at the guard, who clasped my hand without sparing a glance at me.

I winced in pain as his fingers pierced into my skin. With the auras and his appearance, I could tell he was a beta.

I looked up as his phone rang out again. This time, it was a video call from his so-called alpha. My eyes widened in shock as I stared at the Alpha's image, which popped up in front of the phone screen.

My heartbeat dropped for a second as I stared at his face clearly through the phone.

No, this couldn't be him again. It can't be. I growled deeply and stared at him through the screen with an angry look.

He was Alpha Ryan. A ruthless Alpha who was hellbent on making me his wife. He has been chasing me for the past few years. I even had to leave the pack I grew up in because of him.

He was a beast and also a murderer. He even killed my foster mother, who was his elder sister because of his interest, and he wanted me to become his wife.

Suddenly, I felt the fear and anxiety that I had earlier dissipate into thin air, and anger and pain took their place.

"What do you want from me, murderer? You beast! You killed my mother, who is my only family member," I choked on my word. My throat burned with pain as I tried to force out the word that I'd been trying to curse him.

"I have nothing to do with the Red family again," I said and pointed at the phone screen. He stared at me with a sad look on his face, which looked deceitful to me.

He shook his head with a sigh as he cleared his throat as though something was stuck in between them. "I never killed her. The death of Jessica was an accident," he explained. I scowled at him.

"It's better and safer when you come back home. I'll make sure you're treated like a queen," he promised, and I scoffed inwardly. A Queen indeed.

Why couldn't he leave me alone? I wonder what he wanted from me. He has been on my trail for the past seven years.

"I'll never return to the Red family again. I prefer to die instead. And you will pay for your crime, murderer!" I growled deeply at him. My voice was etched with anger and pain. He stared at me with a blank expression.

He looked unfazed, probably not bothered by my scream since it was a video call. And besides, he was an alpha, a ruthless and dominant one.

"If you come back with them obediently, I will make you my Luna,"
