Austin's POV

I arrived at the station before the dawn breaks, I saw some constable moving around the whole place.

"Sir, you're early." Jason greeted me.

"What are doing here? Did you not go home last night?" I asked him.

"Aaron won't let the team go home until we found the suspect." He answered and started drying his hair with his towel.

"That guy, where is he?" I asked to him.

"I think he's at the evidence room" upon hearing it I went upstairs and go directly to the evidence room. I entered in and I saw him watching something on the monitor.

"What are you staring on, too early in the morning?" I said to him, and I realized that he's sleeping soundly.

"How dare you sleeping in here while the team is up the whole night?!" I yelled at him and smacked the back of his head.

"Austin! That hurts!" he shouted when he woke up.

"That hurts? Get a grip Aaron. I'll be out later." I said to him.

"Where are you going?" he asked while yawning and do some stretching.

"I'll meet Quianna." I answered then start rummaging the evidence we got.

"Quianna? The victim? Whoa, are you on a first name basis now?" he said with the hint of teasing me around.

"Shut up, just watch all those recordings." I said to him and leaned at the table.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"Imperial hospital, she received a message again." I said to him.

"Message again? Do you still believe that scheme?" Aaron is the first hater of those messages I received.

"There's no reason not to believe in those." I answered.

"Then, what did it say?"

"Her father's corpse is missing."

"What? How did that happen?"

"That's what we need to know today. Her father died in a hit and run accident and the---"

"The culprit is not yet apprehended?" Aaron continued what I was going to say.

"Yeah, seems familiar? Yeah, it's all what happens to our cases nowadays." I said to him.

"Now, we have to see what will happen at the end." He said then start playing the videos.

"Wait stop!" I said to him.

"That scared me! what are you doing?" he yelled.

"Do you see that?" I said to him then pointed out on the monitor.

"What?"

"Don't you recognize him?" I asked him and he looked closely with it.

"I don't recognize him." He answered which makes me have a deep sigh.

"Send to me that picture." I said to him.

"Why would I?"

"Cause your team leader told you so." I said then left the room. I need to meet Quianna now.

*Phone notification*

I looked at my phone and saw that Aaron already sent the picture of the man who shot Quianna at their company. This man really looks familiar to me, why is that?

*Phone rings*

"Hello?" I greeted.

"Where are you? I'm here at the hospital now and I should go back to the office immediately." Quianna said at the other line.

"I'll leave now. I'll be there in 5." I said then ended the call.

After 5 minutes of driving, I arrived at the hospital, and I saw her waiting at the lobby. She waived at me and walked towards me immediately.

"You're so late!" she said to me.

"Sorry, let's go." I said then we go to the morgue area of the hospital.

"Hi, I am Quianna Ross and I am the daughter of deceased Larry Ross." She said to the window of the staff nurse.

"Oh, you're the daughter of the president." The nurse said and I just looked at her. They owned this hospital? That was huge.

"Yeah, I just want to see the death records of my dad. Can I know where his body was transferred for cremation?" she answered.

"Wait a minute, ma'am." The nurse said and started typing to her computer.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, but the records are stored at the confidential system. The head doctor and coroner has only the permission to access that." The nurse explained.

"Why is that?" Quianna asked.

"I don't have an idea, maybe it was asked by the relatives, or the rule indicated that the case should be confidential." The nurse answered.

"Okay, I got it." Quianna answered.

"How can we check it now?" I asked her.

"Let me call the doctor." She said then dialed it on her phone.

"Hi Mr. Spencer, this is Quianna Ross, and I wanted to see my father's death records?" she said through the call.

"Really? I got it." then I saw her ended the call.

"What did he say?" I asked.

"Mom would not allow it." she answered.

"What? Why is that? Her husband's body can be missing, and she cannot allow it?" I said to her.

"Yeah, I'll just talk to my friend who's also a forensic maybe she can convince the head coroner to let me see it." she answered,

"So, we just went here for nothing?" I asked her.

"I also experienced strange happenings a while ago." She said.

"What do you mean?"

"I saw some woman at the elevator, but she vanished immediately." She said.

"Same as mine? You saw her face?" I immediately asked her.

"No, it happens in a blink of an eye. She just said something to me."

"What did she said?"

"I should decide wisely."

Someone's POV

"You got the body?" the man asked.

"Yes sir, but any seconds we got late, his daughter would've seen it." another man answered.

"What? How did she know about that?"

"I really don't know. But she was at the cemetery then a while ago the doctor called me, and she wanted to see her father's death records." The man explained which be looked like some nurse staff.

"They should not about it, especially his daughter." said by the man who looked like the head of the people in the building.

"Of course, sir." Then the head left the staff.

I cannot let them know that Larry is alive, our experiment should not be put in vain after all that happens. If the experiment became a success, that's the only time the whole world would know about this one-of-a-kind miracle that no one has ever seen.

"Dad." The man looked at her door and he saw his daughter.

"Why are you here? You did not call me." the man said, while his daughter sits immediately on his couch.

"I am bored." The daughter said.

"What do want to do?" her father is doting at his daughter.

"I want something exciting, can I have your car?"

"What will you do with it?" the father is skeptical about it but he still gave her the key.

"Secret." The daughter answered and left the office.

"Hello, Gray? Follow my daughter." The father instructs someone through his telephone and the guy immediately follow his orders.

Quianna's POV

Austin now left me alone after we went to the hospital. Why did mom not allow me to peek at those records? That was very suspicious. I am walking at the sidewalk on my way back to the company. The hospital and the office are only a walking distance, which is why our parents are so close to each other, emotionally and literally. I passed through some playground and the swing somewhat attracts me to ride it. I walked through it and rode the swing, at first, I was just moving slowly, and it only swings low to the point that my feet are still dangling on the ground. Seconds after the swing started to lose its mind and swings it highly enough for me to feel the breeze on my hair and caressing my hair, my phone vibrates. I slowly stopping while trying to reach the ground, when I stopped, I read it and I saw the message…

"Get out of that swing, a car would hit you"

Being uneasy and feeling strange, I immediately get out of the swing and run at the side, seconds before I reached the side bar, I car was rushing towards me and it would've hit me if I did not believe in the message. I looked at the driver's seat and check the driver but she's injured very badly.

I reached out for my phone and start calling the Imperial Hospital's emergency hotline

"Hi, how may I help you?" the nurse answered.

"I am here at the playground near the hospital and a car accident just happened! Go here immediately." I said to them.

"How many are hurt?"

"Uhh, only one the driver only." I answered.

"Okay, ma'am. The ambulance will be right there." Then the call ended.

"Hey, are you alright?" I asked the driver when I saw her move a little, she regained consciousness.

"Where am I?" she said but still looking so hurt due to the accident.

"Don't move, the ambulance will be here in a minute." I said to her. Then, I saw the ambulance meters away.

"Here!" I walked towards to the rescuers while waving my hand.

"Are you okay ma'am?" one of the rescuers asked.

"Yeah, just save the woman inside." They just nodded and went to driver's seat.

"Ma'am are you sure someone is here?" the rescuers said.

"Yeah, she's badly hurt. She's bleeding all over her face." I answered.

"But, no one is here, ma'am." The rescuers answered looking at me confused.

  • Be The Witness   Be The Witness

Quianna’s POVI started driving quick beyond the maximum when Austin texted me the location of the accident. I was nervous, scared and even unstable at the same time, but I do not have the time to be weak. I thought I already overcame those struggles, Aina lived after that day, Austin also lived even though I am not still sure if he died in the other world. But Dylan, he do not have the right to feel comfortable or even relaxed knowing that there is no direct evidence, in the beginning. But now, Aina got another one, but her life became in danger, I do not deserve to be called as her best friend or even the one to receive those messages.I arrived at the location of the accident, and I saw a car parked in the middle of the road and somewhat little smoke was coming out from the front of that car. I quickly get off and run towards the driver’s seat to check if Aina was still there, but she was not. I was in mental breakdown, do not know what to think, my mind

  • Be The Witness   New Confession

Quianna’s POVI stayed on the ground as long as I wanted, my tears were already dried because of the cold gusting wind of the night but I am still here on my knees. I looked up in the sky and it was dark grey in color, despite of the night being calm, I could still sense its gloominess. I slowly stood up as I decided to go back to the ward, I should be doing another plan of catching Dylan’s tail instead of sitting in this place alone and crying. I do not have the time to feel the pain, to feel the sadness, to feel the pain that both of us were having. It was all pointless.I walked towards the door and turned the doorknob slowly, when someone at the other side pulled the door and I forcedly let the door opened without me exerting any kind of effort. I stood firm as I looked of who could that person be. I smiled weakly when I recognized his cold face staring back at me. He slowly walked towards me and I was just waiting for him to arrive in front of m

  • Be The Witness   He Killed

Quianna’s POVI sat on the couch here in the VIP ward where Austin was resting, I personally asked for this room as a private place for the four of us to talk about the plans. In this separated room from the others, as well as from the other wards, no one could ever notice the people who would go in and out from this place of the hospital. This is exclusively made for the family, a ward that all of the relatives could go whenever something happened- and now that I do not have any family now, I could use this to whoever I wanted.I looked on Austin and he was comfortably lying on the bed while sleeping. It is already past midnight but I cannot sleep. I have to think straight and plan my next move, the enemies would not stay still knowing that their mission of killing Austin, the thing that they expected will happen did not take place in this version of the parallel world.I heard pairs of footsteps from the outside and walking towards this direction. I quic

  • Be The Witness   A Reckless One

Quianna’s POVThe clock struck on midnight and I am the only one staying in the house. Because of the conflict that our group made, every one of them has their own thing to be done, or to do just to save me in this hell. I was sitting on the cold tiled floor at the living room and leaning my back against the couch I am trying to fit myself in between the glass centerpiece and the long couch in this part of the house. In front of me was a huge transparent fiber glass window, but it was open halfway leading the cold evening breeze coming in as the white plain curtains were moving in the shadow. It was pitch black inside the house, I have been here since Aina left hours after Aaron and Jason did, she said that she has something to do for the case that he now has to leave. Not saying anything to me or even a hint, she left without turning back. I only kept on staring blankly, letting out deep sigh of worries and frustrations not only for the situation we are in but m

  • Be The Witness   His Death

Austin’s POVI looked around the crime scene, just judging by the look of the room, I guess there had been a fight that leads for his demise. Aaron keeps walking around even if the only thing that he should be checking is the drawers of this table, I searched all of it, even the insides and under of the furniture, to check if there could be any secret compartment- but there is none. The forensics might also get the results from the prints they got in this room, Aaron is glancing over me and I realized that we got the conversation we are needing right now. I nodded at him and both of us went out from the room, stood by the end of the hallway and even look around checking for people who might eavesdrop from our conversation.“What happened?” I asked to him and leaned on the wall.“When Jason and I got in the room, he is already dead.” He answered to me.“Not that one.” I said and he looked at me.“What

  • Be The Witness   Only Witness

Austin’s POVIt was a brief confusing moment for me, why the regional office would open that case again, and on top of that, it looks like a confidential and close investigation to me. She stares at me as I looked at her in my puzzled look, I do not want to any anything, as I might say something that I was keeping to myself- Yana’s case is not known to anyone, especially to the police force. As what Yana said to all of us, this case is extra special, not only that it does not have a direct suspect, but at the same time evidence are difficult to find.Child murderer, that is the name of the case in which Dylan was connected to. Based on the database, he is the victim of that crime but the name was telling something otherwise. His mother committed suicide but the only one who witnessed that crime was himself, Dylan- in which should be the witness not labeled as the murderer.“Why would that case resurface again?” I asked to her and she plai
