"You are too weak. You need to strengthen your defense."
The martial arts instructor said, touching his hands to strengthen his form. Evander groaned in frustration.
"I'm sorry, Alpha."
He looked at him.
"Let's take a break."
Evander said calmly. The other man nodded and exited the plain room, leaving Evander sitting on the floor, his eyes stinging with emotions that ran deeper than the eyes could see, much closer and as associated to a strong, black haired, green eyed delta.
"Evander."
He froze, recognizing the voice to belong to the woman who made his heart strings stretch.
"Why are you here?"
She came in front of him. She was wearing the exact style of clothes she had worn when she had attacked him, except the red cape.
"You're training?"
"Leave. This is none of your business."
She held his arm.
"Let me train you. No one can do it
"What happened to him? You tried to kill him again, didn’t you?""Alec""what?”“ She tried before."Isabella didn't answer, she was carrying Evander on her back, taking him to her room."U hmm..Isabella, give him to me. He must be heavy."She shook her head."I can handle it""give him to us. Why are you taking him to your room?""Because i want to."She completed the flight of stairs and entered the room, closing it behind her."You seriously let her carry him? What if something happens?""She will take care of him, Alec. I'm sure you know that.”Alec scoffed."But what do you think happened toEvander? He was bleeding from his head.""He will heal. You know that."Alec sighed."Let's go. I need to take care of the oldie's transport to new moon against the time he will regain consci
The sound of shattered glasses reached her ear as she stood in front of the closed door of his office. She didn't attempt to go in or stop him. He had to let it out. This was the first time he ever did something like this, and she had to allow him. Things reeled in her mind. She was part of the problem. She was one of those people who he loved and had hurt him. She had taken advantage of his kindness too. She fell to her knees, all the things she had buried deep inside, overflowing. How could she do this? How could she hurt the only person who ever ignited and emotion in her so bad?She remembered the way he fell when he heard thegunshots. She remembered the way he looked at her when she touched his cheek and called him weak. She allowed herself to go down on her knees."Evander. I'm...I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Please...please forgive me."She mumbled, her hands clasped to her face, her mouth open, trying to stop her tears. Why did she hurt
She fell asleep by his side, patting his forehead, before the grogginess of sleep made her drop the hand to her side."Hi."The moon was behind her, and her hair was flying with the wind. She was biting her lower lip, and there was a slight sadness in her eyes."You still haven't found me, Evander. I'm hurt"He was standing, his blonde hair covering his eyes as the strands flew with the wind."I am your mate, Evander. Please find me."He looked at her, his heart besting fast"what's your name?"She smiled and turned, and suddenly she was nowhere. The moon was bluish and bright and he stood alone, the wind and her stronglavender scent hitting him with every breath he took.Isabella woke up, her eyes blurred from sleep and she saw him still sleeping peacefully. So peacefully he was hardly breathing. She stood up and went to get water, took a glass and dropped some on the bedside just in case he would want
The comet, red and fiery, passed swiftly, its coming one that hasn't been seen for hundreds of years. Nanny Mel breathed hard, wishing it would be someone else. She knew the legends of the comets and she knew what this could mean. She clasped her hands."Moon goddess, please.""You....found her?"She asked, hoping she hadn't heard it right the first time. He nodded, smiling."I gave up on her when you came along. I thought Icould just leave her since I had you. Maybe you proving to me that I never did was the moon goddess's way of telling me that she had someone else in store for me."Her heart sank with those words, but she tried to ignore the fact that he hasn't said the mate was better. She didn’t want to give herself hope. He spared her another glance, before walking to his closet, the closet they both had never removed, even though he had given the room to her. He took out a hanger, smiled at it and literally skipped out of the roo
Alec looked at Isabella."Shut up. Let's keep going."Evander looked at the bag again and clutched it, before they resume walking. Jake and Isabella stayed behind, their minds occupied. Another shout from Evander, and all of them came to their senses."What's happening?"He was panting and gasping for air, clutching his chest and crying."I don't understand this.”Jake turned."There is a house..."He strained his eyes."Maybe a mile from here. I'll carry him there. Get ready to run."They all nodded, and he carried Evander, who was a bit quiet now, but sobbing nonetheless. They started running, ignoring the shrubs, Isabella ahead of them. Once they reached the house, three people, who were wearing black masks came out and ran the opposite direction."No...."Evander breathed, but none of them thought anything of it, before they entered the house. There
Evander woke up, looking fresh and well rested. He'd slept the entire day and everyone was starting to get anxious."I mean, he doesn't even sleep much. Why now? Do you think he died in his sleep?"Jake threw a pillow at him."Shut up. He'll wake up."Isabella sat next to his bed without saying a word, and she was the first thing he saw when he opened his eyes. He didn't exactlyreflect her smile, but at least, the hate wasn't that evident in his eyes. She held his hand."Evander, are you okay? How do you feel?"He stared at the hand for a while and she started contemplating whether she should let his hand go before he answered her."I feel good."He released his hand from hers, flipped off the covers, stood and stretched, his face more relaxed than she had seen it in a while. "Okay, I’ll just tell Jake and Alec. They were so worried.""No need. Get some rest. I'll just go down myself.”
"Nice to see you again, nanny."She scowled."Is there something distasteful in the air? Your face doesn’t look good.""You know what's distasteful here. And you know I will never forgive it."Evander simply sighed"I didn't expect you to understand me, nanny. But still, even though I expected it, I don't know why it hurts."She shook her head."My realization of who you truly are underneath those innocent scales hurt you? You killed your own family to become alpha. You took advantage of your brother's insecurity andgot him out of full moon. Before you, we were the epitome of forgiveness and mercy. After you came, you made us just like split moon."He winced. The uncanny link to Isabella stung."You know somewhere in there, in your heart, if you still have one, that I wasn’t responsible for any of the things that happened that night."Leaning back in his
Once her lips touched his, he closed his eyes, his breath hitching a bit. He was too shocked to respond at first, but then his response came slow, taking it at his pace. He held her waist, pulling her close and it wasn’t just desperation or love, it was also yearning, heartbreak and will. It was the will to forgive and let go.A small chuckle came, and she released him, but his hand still lingered on her waist, his face still resting on hers."I'm so sorry"Jake said, a mischievous glint in his eyes and Evander closed his eyes, letting her go, slowly and Once he did, she moved away, trying to keep reasonable distance."Evander?"His head was still lowered, his hands now feeling suddenly empty and he looked up at her, giving a small smile."Thanks"he turned to Jake."You need me?"He nodded."Yeah. If you can..."" I
