Evander stayed outside as he gave her his credit card to shop with it. She had declined at first, but he wasn’t one to hear a no. Full moon pack and their alpha amused her. The peace, floral designs and all, would make you think of a sophisticated 1800s, but just wait till you get inside.
They allowed nature and sophistication rule their outside surroundings and technology and the feeling of the 21st century in their clothing’s, devices and internal structures. She walked to the woman, already eyeing a set of leather pants she had seen on her way in. She told her what she wanted and the woman calmly led her to the clothing rack.
From the way the woman kept looking from her to the door, she knew that the woman was well aware that she was with the Alpha. Well, where did a delta belong? She huffed and continued checking the trousers.
Taking a handful of them, she turned around, but the woman gently collected them from her and escorted her to the changing room. She tried on the first one. Too lose. The second; too tight. The third; just right. Fifth; just right. Sixth; too short and so on. She kept trying till she got five that fit her well, got some tops and crop tops all in red or a mixture of it, since she knew she wouldn’t be able to wear a cape.
She picked two boots too. She didn’t want to go on her normal shopping spree because here, it wasn’t her money. Yeah, she was a delta, so she knew how to respect herself.
"Is that all you got?"
He said as she walked out with three bags, one for shoes, one for trousers and one for shirts. She blinked at him.
"Yeah..I.."
He shoved her back in.
"What did she pick?
"Mainly trousers and shirts, Alpha."
The woman replied, keeping her head a bit lowered, but also assertive. He walked straight to the shelf, took a whole rack and shoved it gently into a dressing room, then took her there too.
"Try each and every one of them and take every one that fits. I meant every one."
He said and went to sit on a couch that was in front of the dressing room. She kept trying and trying and trying, till she couldn’t count the amount that fit. She called to him and showed him and he looked at it, then her, as if not quite believing her.
"You sure that's all that fits?"
She nodded. He went out and called the woman, gently helping Bella out of the pile of clothes and left her to pack up her things. He showed her more shirts too, and boots, since she said she preferred them, but he assured her she would need dresses too.
He got a few for her, with heels, bracelets...she just watched him pack up half the store for her as if she had come to stay. As if she would be here for a lifetime.
"What's wrong?"
He asked, noticing that she had spaced out already.
"You are taking so many clothes, like I am here to stay." He frowned looking at her
. "Ain’t you?"
"What?"
He sighed, dropping the heels he was holding and held her shoulders.
" Yeah, i will get you so many clothes, cause you're here to stay. Incase you forgot, you're home now."
He said giving her a small smile.
"And..."
He said, turning his back to her.
"I really don’t think I will let you go that easily. Maybe it would take a heartbreak."
He laughed, and picked the heels he dropped.
"Now, lets go."
He said, wrapping his arm around her shoulder as they walked out. The car beeped as he pressed a key he was holding. She looked confused.
” I told alec to bring the car, since it would be uncomfortable taking all of that home."
He said the home like it was natural, like he'd lived with her his whole life. Two girls whom she hadn't seen before brought the bags, all of them, to the car, greeting them and shuffling away to bring the next set. When the finished, he gently shoved her in, then got in himself and drove straight home.
"Let me."
"Nope,"
he said, popping the p and waving a long, slender finger in front of her.
"You just got and waiting upstairs, I’ll be done in a jiffy."
He said and continued to bring out the bags. She tried to protest.
"But..."
" no buts, please. Let me do this for you."
"Why?"
"Cause,"
...he let his voice trail off as if thinking, but then left the question hanging and carried six bags up. She followed him up, but stayed there, watching him shuffle between the bags, the stairs and his car. Next, he started to arrange the clothes in a wardrobe that she was sure wasn’t there before.
"I didn’t see that there before."
She said, looking at him intently. He laughed.
"Well, for someone who is here to stay, you have very little home equipment, don’t you think?"
He said and continued arranging, choosing crop tops or shirts for different trousers, hanging them on a clothes hanger, then placing them in the wardrobe. He smoothed the dresses he had insisted on getting for her, placed them on clothes hangers and put them in too. He arranged her shoes on a shoe rack too. Her bracelets, watch and rings went to the bedside drawer after being carefully placed in a box.
All done, he turned to her, breathing a bit hard, dusting his hands and a slightly irritated looking on his face.
"Let me take a quick shower."
He said and left her sitting on the bed. She thought about how the day went, one morning of fun seeking and she was here, in full moon, enjoying a treatment people with her kind of heart didn’t deserve.
She stood up and walked to the window, staring at the streets outside, at the buildings, the happy people, the businesses, the children, the rose patches and the trees. The sun was setting in the distance, and the whole pack was illuminated.
She looked towards where he had gone, his smile, his eyes, his enthusiasm to serve her, the way he blushed when she talked to him, his kind words. She wouldn't stay. She knew she wouldn't. And as she stood there, one sentence hung at the back of her mind.
"Maybe it would take a heartbreak."
She took in air, and exhaled. Then so be it.
She had always underestimated the color of his eyes. Today as she saw them, they looked like diamonds, half cast in blue fairy dust. So silver, its almost white, so beautiful its almost unreal. His hair, a very light blonde, looked like they'd had a meeting with his skin om what their theme would be. She'd seen him In all sorts of white clothes, but what he wore today was royal, fit for an alpha, equal to a king. The corners of his eyes shrinked as he smiled when he saw her, and everything and everybody else didn’t matter. She watched hislips as he mouthed"you look perfect"and she couldn't love him more. He waited patiently for her and once she got to him, he extended his hand. She placed her hand in his and he squeezed it, ever so gently. She turned and smiled and for a second, both forgot what they were supposed to be doing there. T
"What's going on?"Alec shrugged."I don’t know either. I think it has something to do with membership of the pack, though."Jake raised his brow."There hasn't been any problems with that. I mean, we haven’t had anyone coming in and requesting membership. Have we"Alec simply shrugged."I don’t know, ask Evander. I have to get a lot of things ready. See you later."He said and jogged off, leaving Jake to mull it over."Pack membership? What's with that?"He mumbled, rubbing his chin. Just then he saw Isabella passed through the front porch, oblivious of her surroundings. If he was in a cartoon, a light bulb would have definitely light up on his head as his eyes twinkled with realization."Membership! Haha...sly Evander"he laughed to himself, shaking his head."Bella, you have to be there."She sighed."Why? I mean I am not exactly part o
He rushed to her side, and lightly brushed his fingers with his hands, and kept them there. She felt the jolt of electricity, the butterflies whenever he was close or whenever he touched her and she savored it for a moment."What are you doing here, Bella?"She looked up at his beautiful silver eyes and almost drowned before she caught herself. She had to chase that woman or else she wouldn’t have those eyes to drown in."Oh, Evander...my cute workaholic. You always forget when you're working."He raised a brow, sensing mischief and seeing through her act."Forget what?"He asked, andshe leaned in, whispering, but it was loud enough for the now squirming woman to hear."You know I like a long warm bath after rough nights"His eyes bulged, and he almost covered his face to laugh."Ohh..yeah..."He said and pursed his lips tightly to stop himse
"Well..."Evander interrupted him."You should take the other house, brother. Since you'll have a wife now."He said, dropping the towel he held and looking at Sandra who smiled sheepishly."Are you sure? Mum..""Don’t.. They wouldn't want you to stay away from home and you know that."Alexander nodded as Alec clapped his hands, laughing hard, while Jake threw his hand over Alexander's shoulder."Well, big brother is back! Let's toast to that."Everyone laughed, agreeing."Can you please shut up. A woman is trying to sleep, PLEASE!"They froze, looking towards Isabella who had covered her ears with pillows. Alec scoffed, clearing his throat, obviously to no good.He had already started shouting gibberish before Evander realized what he was going to do. He pressed his index finger and his thumb as a last resort, making a silencing sound in the air. All fell quiet. Evander, more surprised that
Alexander gasped and wobbled on his feet, but was promptly caught by a smiling Evander."Brother, get a hold of yourself. You are not the only one seeing it"he said with a laugh as Alexander took a step forward. Jake and Alex stood behind them, a teary eyed look on their faces as they saw Alexander's glee."Moon Goddess...Evander, brother...."He dragged the red head into his warm embrace, holding her tight as if that closeness wasn't close enough."baby....I thought I lost you"she simply smiled and shook her head, with a tender look in her eyes. Alexander suddenly took a step back, his brows furrowed, his lips set in a tight line."Evander, I’m sorry. You can have her now."Evander raised a brow."What are you talking about?"EvenIsabella tilted her head in confusion."She is your mate, have you forgotten brother?"He said, his head lowered. Evander burst out laughing
"So yeah, Evander found her but lost her."Alex completed his story of how Evander found his mate to Alexander, while Evander snuggled on Isabella's shoulder's dozing."Wow, brother. How did you cope?"He blinked."I'm okay."He said simply and closed his eyes again."So now, you are officially single and without a mate. Damn, that's lucky as hell."Evander rubbed his eyes and sat up."You don't say"he said, smiling at Isabella before he returned back to his position. But Alexander wasn’t done yet."Well, you see. There was this girl for me. I met her by accident, you know. Her fiery red hair caught my eyes, but her innocence captured my soul. It was thelast time I was here, four years, right? Yeah, four years."He said nodding as he answered his own question. Evander was a bit sleepy, but was listening anyway, Alex was wide eyed while Jake propp
