Evander stayed outside as he gave her his credit card to shop with it. She had declined at first, but he wasn’t one to hear a no. Full moon pack and their alpha amused her. The peace, floral designs and all, would make you think of a sophisticated 1800s, but just wait till you get inside.
They allowed nature and sophistication rule their outside surroundings and technology and the feeling of the 21st century in their clothing’s, devices and internal structures. She walked to the woman, already eyeing a set of leather pants she had seen on her way in. She told her what she wanted and the woman calmly led her to the clothing rack.
From the way the woman kept looking from her to the door, she knew that the woman was well aware that she was with the Alpha. Well, where did a delta belong? She huffed and continued checking the trousers.
Taking a handful of them, she turned around, but the woman gently collected them from her and escorted her to the changing room. She tried on the first one. Too lose. The second; too tight. The third; just right. Fifth; just right. Sixth; too short and so on. She kept trying till she got five that fit her well, got some tops and crop tops all in red or a mixture of it, since she knew she wouldn’t be able to wear a cape.
She picked two boots too. She didn’t want to go on her normal shopping spree because here, it wasn’t her money. Yeah, she was a delta, so she knew how to respect herself.
"Is that all you got?"
He said as she walked out with three bags, one for shoes, one for trousers and one for shirts. She blinked at him.
"Yeah..I.."
He shoved her back in.
"What did she pick?
"Mainly trousers and shirts, Alpha."
The woman replied, keeping her head a bit lowered, but also assertive. He walked straight to the shelf, took a whole rack and shoved it gently into a dressing room, then took her there too.
"Try each and every one of them and take every one that fits. I meant every one."
He said and went to sit on a couch that was in front of the dressing room. She kept trying and trying and trying, till she couldn’t count the amount that fit. She called to him and showed him and he looked at it, then her, as if not quite believing her.
"You sure that's all that fits?"
She nodded. He went out and called the woman, gently helping Bella out of the pile of clothes and left her to pack up her things. He showed her more shirts too, and boots, since she said she preferred them, but he assured her she would need dresses too.
He got a few for her, with heels, bracelets...she just watched him pack up half the store for her as if she had come to stay. As if she would be here for a lifetime.
"What's wrong?"
He asked, noticing that she had spaced out already.
"You are taking so many clothes, like I am here to stay." He frowned looking at her
. "Ain’t you?"
"What?"
He sighed, dropping the heels he was holding and held her shoulders.
" Yeah, i will get you so many clothes, cause you're here to stay. Incase you forgot, you're home now."
He said giving her a small smile.
"And..."
He said, turning his back to her.
"I really don’t think I will let you go that easily. Maybe it would take a heartbreak."
He laughed, and picked the heels he dropped.
"Now, lets go."
He said, wrapping his arm around her shoulder as they walked out. The car beeped as he pressed a key he was holding. She looked confused.
” I told alec to bring the car, since it would be uncomfortable taking all of that home."
He said the home like it was natural, like he'd lived with her his whole life. Two girls whom she hadn't seen before brought the bags, all of them, to the car, greeting them and shuffling away to bring the next set. When the finished, he gently shoved her in, then got in himself and drove straight home.
"Let me."
"Nope,"
he said, popping the p and waving a long, slender finger in front of her.
"You just got and waiting upstairs, I’ll be done in a jiffy."
He said and continued to bring out the bags. She tried to protest.
"But..."
" no buts, please. Let me do this for you."
"Why?"
"Cause,"
...he let his voice trail off as if thinking, but then left the question hanging and carried six bags up. She followed him up, but stayed there, watching him shuffle between the bags, the stairs and his car. Next, he started to arrange the clothes in a wardrobe that she was sure wasn’t there before.
"I didn’t see that there before."
She said, looking at him intently. He laughed.
"Well, for someone who is here to stay, you have very little home equipment, don’t you think?"
He said and continued arranging, choosing crop tops or shirts for different trousers, hanging them on a clothes hanger, then placing them in the wardrobe. He smoothed the dresses he had insisted on getting for her, placed them on clothes hangers and put them in too. He arranged her shoes on a shoe rack too. Her bracelets, watch and rings went to the bedside drawer after being carefully placed in a box.
All done, he turned to her, breathing a bit hard, dusting his hands and a slightly irritated looking on his face.
"Let me take a quick shower."
He said and left her sitting on the bed. She thought about how the day went, one morning of fun seeking and she was here, in full moon, enjoying a treatment people with her kind of heart didn’t deserve.
She stood up and walked to the window, staring at the streets outside, at the buildings, the happy people, the businesses, the children, the rose patches and the trees. The sun was setting in the distance, and the whole pack was illuminated.
She looked towards where he had gone, his smile, his eyes, his enthusiasm to serve her, the way he blushed when she talked to him, his kind words. She wouldn't stay. She knew she wouldn't. And as she stood there, one sentence hung at the back of her mind.
"Maybe it would take a heartbreak."
She took in air, and exhaled. Then so be it.
Why are you up?""Why are you up?"She replied, stressing the you."I was working."He shrugged."You?"She contemplated telling him. It was something she always did, back in split moon. She looked at him. its just Evander. Even if its a taboo, he'll let her get away with it."I was hungry."He laughed a little."Well, I am too. That's what brought me out."She released a breath she didn’t realize she was holding and smiled at him, meeting his eyes. She was standing a bit higher, since his office was downstairs and he saw her coming down the stairs. Their eyes met, and he held her gaze. They stayed like that for sometime, before she broke the gaze and looked away. He cleared his throat, trying to clear the tension in the room."What do you want? There should be pizza, maybe some...I don’t know, waffles, ice cream? Do you take fruit juice? Or do you stick to meat only diet?"
Its been a month, since Evander picked Bella, and has since then, shown her a world, one that wasn't even in her dreams. All she knew was violence, and he gave her peace. All she knew was pain, and he gave her healing, all she saw was blood and gore, he showed her nature and arts and flowers, she was used to the sound of helpless screams and metal, he gave her music, laughter and kind words. And amidst all of this, he gave her trust, both his and hers, he gave her companionship, love, and even though all of these were great, she knew that this was not her life. This can never be her life. She had to get back, no matter what."Penny for your thoughts?"She looked up."I wasn’t thinking about anything."" you were,"he said assertively."You do that thing where you rub your lower lip with your tongue real fast, and your eyes become smaller and darker, a
She went to the wardrobe, making sure to close the door so she would hear if someone was coming in. Evander always knocks, even if the door was open, but still. She had to make sure. She had left him sleeping on the log in the garden, brought him a blanket and had come here alone. She would need maximum privacy foe what she was about to do. She ransacked, then found it behind thewardrobe, just where she had put it, after the first shopping spree with Evander. She closed it and went to stand by the window. The view was beautiful and it was her favorite place. She saw the gamma, Jake. He didn’t talk much and when Evander introduced her to him, he just smiled, said a "nice to meet you." and excused himself. He was one to fuss, to be honest. He made sure Evander, and since she was Evander's guest, that both of them had their meals, weren’t feeling sick. He was one caring person, very silent, but caring. She looked down a
"You look beautiful."Evander tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and stepped back to look at her again. She smiled."I can't believe you're going out like this. Someone may kidnap you or...or..you know."She laughed, humorlessly. The only one who's dangerous here is me."Stop, its okay. I will be back really soon."She had received a text earlier and the men she had asked for were already at their rendezvous point."Are you sure you don't want me to comealong?"His hands were on both her shoulders. As usual, he was wearing white from head to toe, with his silver ring and blonde hair."I will be okay."He nodded, not quite letting her go. She moved away, putting some distance between them, then turned to the bed to get her phone. She stood straight as he hugged her from behind."I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about this."Her heart was beating wildly in her chest, as she knew he
"Alec! Alec!!! Hey!"Evander was running towards Alec, who was standing at the front of the gate, just where he and Jake had left him."Alec! I know you are angry, but come in. Someone is coming for us."He could only see him, and was running to him, his mind too clouded to make sense of the chaos around him. He was just in time to see three bullets penetrate Alec. Alec fell to his knees, not quite dead, and he saw his head severe from his body. Evander almost passedout. He saw more people running towards him, and away from where he stood, he saw about five men pouring what seemed to be petroleum on the houses, setting them on fire. It all happened so fast, it seemed to him like he was in a 3D film."Evander, get out of here. Even if we all die, we still need you."Jake was holding his hand, running, before they both tripped, hitting the ground, tears filling Evander's eyes. His hands were wrapped around J
"Jake, Alec. Take her to the punishment room. Just leave when you are done. I want to be alone."Evander's voice was so low, they could hardly hear. Jake and Alec looked at each other. They didn’t have a punishment room. Only a correction room, and that was where they left her. Alec glared as he kept her on the available seat, pointing at her with a flashlight. The room was entirely dark, except for his light. She glared back."You have the guts to glare at me, You..""Alec, lets leave."Jake said, holding his hand. Alec fought it out of his grip."She killed all of us, Jake. She killed us, burnt down our houses, she betrayed our Alpha. You just want to let her be? You know Evander. He wont ever do anything to her. He's hurting, all because of her, and he wont ever retaliate."Jake sighed."We are full moon. We are peaceful, we are serenity. We are unity, we are harmony. We are love and trust and virtue. We are forgi
"Jake, where is he?"He looked solemn."Alpha Evander needs his time alone."He kept the food on the bedside table and turned."And the chocolate? Ice cream? Every night, you drop them here."He shook his head and turned to face her."I don't. What? Do you care now?""What are you saying?"He chuckled darkly and sat on the floor, close to the bed."Have you ever, throughout your two weeks here, thought about howthings would be, if Evander didn't possess the gift he had? We would all be dead. You would go back to your pack as the powerful delta who conquered the one pack no one has ever attacked. Evander would be dead too. He would rather commit suicide than watch his pack members die. Do you know what brought us back? The love he has for us. You betrayed that love. You took his transparent glass heart,"he took out a glass figurine from the bedside."And you smashed it on the w
"An official letter from the alpha of split moon, Alpha Cole Richardson, to the Alpha of full moon, Alpha Evander Merchant."He stopped a bit and the stenographer scribbled fast. That was the way of the packs in the three moons wolf country. They always used letters for official purposes."The recent attempt to attack the full moon pack by my delta, Delta Isabella Cullen, has been without my prior consent. It is not hidden from you that her erratic actions has caused us the loss of twenty soldiers, who has served this pack with so much dedication whilethey were alive. You can, as your offender, do what you see fit, but as my and my pack's criminal, she is hereby, banished from this pack. She is to never step foot in this pack and if she does, she can be killed on sight. This is my final judgment, by the power vested on me as Alpha of the split moon, chosen and anointed by the moon goddess to lead my pack to prosperity."He finished, a glint of pride in his
