Chapter 2 Questions

I did not expect him to have a nice body under his suit. He was dashing and had eight-pack abs. Then, Nathaniel lunged at me and rained kisses on my body. I could not even move.

All I could do was scream in my head, calling him a freak and telling myself to run.

He finally stopped, and he looked at me with a crazed expression. "You have no idea how happy I was today, babe. I'd never been so close to you, it nearly drove me mad! I was so close to pulling you into myself, and it took me everything to keep it down!"

He huddled even closer to me and took a deep whiff. "You smell nice, babe. I nearly let myself loose when I tasted your scent earlier in the day. It took me forever to get the exact same scent you wear. Praise me a little, eh?"

The rims of his eyes were red, and there was an obsession in his eyes. This wasn't the same man I saw during the day. Since I could not move a muscle, my senses were heightened considerably.

The moment Nathaniel pulled the blanket off and touched me, I realized something. I was naked. There was no fabric on my skin. Well, seeing Nathaniel humble himself before me was worth it.

He had someone he loved but couldn't get together with for some reason. That changed him into the dark, unhinged pervert he was now. The resentment I felt thanks to his attitude had vanished, replaced by pleasure.

So, even someone like him had something he could never get. I'd have laughed as loudly as I could, but I couldn't move, sadly.

Nathaniel was still staring at me. His hand caressed the corner of my eye, but his gaze was icy. "No, this isn't right…" he said, his gaze faraway. "She has a beauty mark here. Why don't you? You're not her…"

Then, he crushed my neck and turned it like it was an owl's head.

Oh God, this guy was crazy. My face was buried in the pillow, and the lack of air made breathing extremely difficult. This guy wasn't just unhinged. My heart was thumping crazily.

"Babe…" I could sense his ragged breathing swirling around my ears, and then my whole body was covered in something sticky. It was probably Nathaniel's drool.

'Ew, gross,' I thought.

Nathaniel pressed the back of my head, and his lips brushed against my neck. My soul was starting to quake. Wait a minute. If he was kissing my neck, why was there even more fluid drowning my body? If that wasn't his drool…

As if hearing my question, he turned my head back and kissed me with closed eyes. He greedily took in all of my scent.

Great, my head just did a perfect three-sixty. After he stood up, I saw the thing that'd been slithering all over me. It was slender and covered in silver scales. A serpent's tail.

Could it be? Nathaniel was a beastfolk?
