Chapter 3

Author: Paisley Doze
"You have now received your respective identities. You may return to your own territories."

The Beast God's voice rang out, and Lydia and I fell into our respective bodies. At this moment, we had just finished forming bonds with our males.

Lydia swayed her waist as she walked toward the three beastmen she bonded with. The three males looked at her with intense possessiveness in their eyes.

The other males present gazed at Lydia and her companions with envious eyes. But they couldn't compete with these three males at all.

They were the tribe's white tiger, Marcus Stone, black lion, Damian Hunter, and eagle, Kieran Swift. In the face of absolute power, the others could only stare at this delicate female in a daze.

Meanwhile, behind me stood a wolf with one eye, an eagle that couldn't fly, and a harmless-looking cat. As for me, I was a white wolf. I looked with satisfaction at my sharp claws and fangs.

Among the wolf tribe, white wolves held supreme status. However, among the beastkin tribes, such females weren't popular.

Lydia looked at everyone's infatuation with her, satisfaction in her eyes. When it came to me, the beastmen showed only disdain. So, I was assigned these three least desirable defective males.

But Lydia didn't realize that true allies would never wish for your weakness.

I looked at the three beastmen before me and calmly led them back to our territory. Seeing my indifferent attitude, the three beastmen felt uneasy inside. They couldn't transform, and even their animal forms were defective.

They followed carefully behind me, as if afraid of angering me.

After returning to the cave, I frowned. The cave was cold, damp, and dark. For me, it wasn't a good place to live.

"Wait inside. I'll be back soon."

Perhaps because this body still carried some human habits, I instinctively disliked such dark and damp places. When I returned to the cave with firewood and prey, my eyes shone with delight. This body's strength and speed exceeded my imagination.

I was certain my power wasn't inferior to Lydia's three males.

When I entered the cave, I discovered it seemed to have been tidied up. The hard stone bed was covered with soft, dry grass and animal hides. There were even small flowers placed on the stone table.

The three beastmen looked at me with somewhat unreadable emotions in their eyes. I tossed the prey in front of them, and they swallowed nervously as they looked at me.

"You can eat. I'll eat later."

I wasn't fond of eating raw meat, so I built a fire to the side. I tore off a piece and began roasting it.

They looked at me with some astonishment in their eyes. Generally speaking, in their former tribe, even when they handed over prey, they weren't entitled to the first bite of food.

What remained for them was usually leftovers or spoiled meat. They would've never gotten something so fresh.

Seeing them motionless for so long, I felt puzzled and carried over the meat I'd roasted on the stick. "Do you want cooked meat?"

"No, you are our bonded one. This food was hunted by you, so we should wait until you've eaten before you grant it to us."

The one-eyed wolf spoke with a complex expression.

I shook my head and told them, "We don't need to follow those rules here. From now on, I'll need your help when hunting anyway.

"My name is Ella Miller. If you need anything from me in the future, you can tell me directly."

The three males looked at me. Something unreadable flashed through their eyes.

"My name is Soren Cross. These two are Adrian Vale and Caspian White. They can't speak yet, so Ella, if you need anything, just tell me."

I didn't know if it was from the hunting trip or because I still wasn't used to this body. I just felt extraordinarily tired and weak.

"I'm going to rest first. If you're hungry, eat. If you can, please help watch the fire."

After speaking, I found a spot in the cave and fell into a deep sleep. Little did I know that after confirming I was asleep, Adrian's and Caspian's gazes turned cold as they looked at me.

They reached their claws toward me. When they were only inches away, Soren blocked their path in front of me.

"Soren, what are you doing? Have you forgotten how she abandoned us in our previous life? Now that she's back, I want nothing more than to tear her apart!"

If I were awake, I would have discovered that Adrian and Caspian could already speak human words.

"She's not her." Something dark flashed through the wolf's one and only eye.

"Save me, Ella! I'm sorry! I know I was wrong!"However, I only looked at her coldly, with no intention of saving her. After what happened in our previous lives, I no longer owed her anything. I knew better than to show mercy to a snake.Seeing I wouldn't be moved, Lydia cursed viciously. "Ella, why? Why do you have it better than me? You're the one who took everything from me! You're the one who should die!"I looked at her, mockery flashing through my eyes. "Lydia, I don't owe you anything. Your mix-up at birth wasn't something I orchestrated. It was the Millers' careless mistake."Moreover, I was just a child whom the Millers adopted. How could I have stolen your place?"Everything you wanted, I gave to you. Whether in our previous life or this one, these were all your own choices."If anyone owes anything, it's you who owes me."After hearing my words, Lydia's eyes filled with fury. However, the poison swamp's corrosion had already rendered her unable to speak. She could on

When I saw Lydia again, it was on the battlefield, competing for the title of King of All Beastkin. Her eyes held deep hatred when she saw me."Ella, you were reborn too, weren't you? You knew full well what kind of monsters those three were!"I treated you well! Why did you set me up for disaster?"I looked at her belly. It was now deflated, loose and saggy, with disgusting wrinkles. Her skin was no longer smooth and radiant. She looked as if she'd weathered a terrible storm. It seemed that even with the Beast God's power, she couldn't withstand such torment. The beastmen in the Wildplains tribe consumed heavy metal salt in massive amounts. It would be strange if they didn't miscarry. Only Lydia, who possessed the Beast God's power, could barely manage to bear cubs. Moreover, everyone in the Wildplains tribe was now old, weak, sick, or disabled. This was all thanks to Lydia. This winter, their tribe's food supply was severely insufficient. The three males discussed it and shame

Before she could get close to Soren, he and the others transformed into their beast forms and drove Lydia back. Compared to our previous life, their builds were much more powerful.I looked at them with satisfaction.Back then, Lydia had changed my major to animal husbandry just to humiliate me."Ella, I'm doing this for your own good. If Mom and Dad don't like you later, when you go back to the mountains, at least this major will be useful, won't it?"Her face was full of malice. She wanted nothing more than to grind me into the dirt.Knowing I was in the wrong, I yielded at every turn. However, this only encouraged her to treat me worse, even costing me my life. Now, I didn't owe her anything. Moreover, I'd raised every beastman in the tribe well. By accident, this major truly came in handy. However, the Wildplains tribe where Lydia lived wasn't faring well. The cubs born these days either died young or were deformed.A trace of mockery crossed my eyes. Of course, with all th

The three beastmen who'd been driven out looked at each other in confusion. Soren, Adrian, and Caspian couldn't understand it at all.Their transformations had been modeled after numerous beastmen. In their previous life, Lydia couldn't take her eyes off these beastmen. After finally managing to transform, I had kicked them out. Only then did Caspian and Adrian truly believe I wasn't the Lydia from their previous life. When I emerged from the cave the next day, I carried some fatigue. Looking at the three waiting by the entrance, I said, "You three..."Their eyes held a trace of resentment along with some admiration. As expected of a former saintess, I could endure even this."Elle, please eat something to replenish your strength."Soren thoughtfully placed a bowl of meat soup before me. "Rest well these days. Leave the hunting to us."I nodded without refusing. Between the heat and the cold water bath, my spirits were truly depleted. I lay on the stone bed, contemplating the tr

When I woke up, it was already evening.I stretched and extended my hand. To my surprise, my sharp claws had completely disappeared, replaced by a radiant, slender arm."Ah!" I couldn't help crying out. Had I returned to the tragedy of my previous life?Hearing my voice, Soren rushed in from outside. When he saw me, he froze in place."Elle, you've transformed?" Seeing me before him, his face felt unusually hot.His voice carried a hint of hoarseness. Only then did I realize I wasn't wearing anything at all.A blush crossed my face. With a thought, I transformed back into my white wolf form with a loud thump."Elle, congratulations. You can take human form now."Something flickered in Soren's eyes. He had seen clearly just now that the beast woman before him was clearly the saintess from their previous life.He thought I was far more beautiful than this life's saintess. However, what surprised Soren was that I didn't live in human form as Lydia did. It was as if that day's tr
