ATTACK 1

Chapter 4

Beatrice sat on the chair, her eyes flickering to the fireplace.

Her red eyes were pale as she blinked them severally.

"You're getting hotter Beatrice," Mel mumbled, placing the wet towel that was wrapped with ice on her forehead.

Beatrice shivered, sighing and biting her tongue as Mel continued.

"I don't know why you're like this, but you better say something." Mel hissed.

"I feel hot."

"You've been saying that for hours now dear sister, and believe me when I say I am tired."

"I feel hot Mel, I'm supposed to be as Cold as ice, remember?"

Mel shook her head, as she watched the older man walk into the room.

"Grandpa Pablo, Beatrice's temperature is getting worst," Mel said, taking a seat as she turned on the cooler.

The cooler was something used by the Black Market to punish slaves that went out of the way to disobey their Mistresses and Masters.

"This is bad."

"You shouldn't be complaining, even the humans in the black market get used to this kind of thing." Mel huffed.

"Is it Jealousy I smell dear sister, it is not my fault that you are an ordinary vampire, not a cold-blooded one," Beatrice mumbled.

"How petty." Mel countered.

"Girls, I'll have to go get some leaves, stay put, and don't leave the Mansion."

Leaving the small house for the two girls, Pablo headed for the village.

Having picked the small house that resided in the woods was far better than living in the village where wolves flocked around.

Beatrice was a good kid but having lived with her for years ever since she was born, he had learned something. She was quick to anger and when she got angry, it was hard to calm her down.

He headed for the small shop when he got to the village.

Light red eyes and blue stared at him but he ignored them, going to the shop.

Unlike the vampire, the wolves had light red eyes while the vampire's eyes were deep red.

"Good day Madame." He greeted, and the woman nodded.

"I need a pill for cooling down the system."

"A vampire? the pills here are mainly for wolves except this vampire was bitten."

"No." Came Pablo's words in a curt manner.

"Okay then, I don't have what you want."

Giving the woman another look, he walked out of the shop to find the small village deserted.

Not even a single soul was in sight.

**

Hours passed but Beatrice's condition worsened.

Mel stood by the window, sighing as she turned the tall pawpaw tree, making way for air to get in.

Her eyes widened at the sudden moment, she saw in the woods close to the have.

She pushed the trees apart, and it did again.

A wave of air slammed through the window, closing it quickly as it hit.

She staggered back a little and ran to Beatrice in a flash.

"I smell something different." Beatrice sniffed the air.

"Hmm, what do you smell?" Mel asked, staring at the door.

"Vampires? Wolves? And Witches." She said, and the door burst open.

Mel grabbed the knife that stuck the apple on the table and went for the intruder, grabbing him by the neck and tossing him to the other window.

"I think it's time you get your ass up Milady, I don't think this maiden is powerful to hold this person." She voiced out, only to turn in a swift, catching an arrow that was shot from the other opened windows.

Unlike the witches and other creatures, the vampire could run at high speed and flexibility.

The vampires, especially the cold-blooded ones were the most respected creature of the land...followed by the Wolves with a high range of power.

"I......cn't," Beatrice stressed, trying to get up.

"Then we are going to die here sister dear." Mel sighed.

"Watch out!" Mel yelled as she ran forward to catch the arrow that was moving at a high speed toward Beatrice.

Beatrice frowned, catching the arrow as if catching a candy that was thrown at her.

She broke the arrow into two and turned to her sister.

"I am weak in standing sister dear, not catching things." She shook her head.

"If only Milady was okay, we would long be off," Mel said jokingly.

"Yes my handmaiden, if only I was okay..we would already be on our way out of here, but how cruel is my illness for wanting us two dead." Beatrice continued the show, not minding that they were at the point of death.

An ominous sound was heard, as a small smoke make its way into the room, the two sisters watched the smoke disperse into the room.

"I'm feeling dizzy Milady."

"Then sleep dear sister, for your Lady here has already gone to sleep." Muttered Beatrice as her eyes closed up to the darkness that befalls the house.

"What do we do with them? They look pretty." A man asked as they walked into the house.

The other sniffed.

"Hmm, Vampires." He muttered.

"Well well well, what do we have here? A Cold-blooded vampire and a normal vampire. My lucky day." A man walked into the room.

His eyes were on the two women that had been knocked out by the witch smoke.

"How did you knock a cold-blooded vampire out?"

"I think she is weak at the moment, she could not fight, talk about standing. But she's powerful, I can smell her from afar." The Vampire amongst them said.

"There's no need to banter on things like this, bundle them up, we will sell them off to the Black Market, I'm sure they'll be delighted to have a cold-blooded vampire in their midst." The leader said, smiling as he walked out of the room.

"Ahhh!" The other man yelled, causing attention.

"What is it, Mahal?" The Vampire asked.

"The girl, she woke up just now before sleeping again."

"Quick bundle her, less the power of the smoke die out and she kills us all!"
