As Henry Crawford said this afternoon, his men picked Emily up at her apartment. Right in front of her unit door.
That made Emily feel a little scared. The man who was going to date her tonight was no ordinary man. She was not afraid because she was sure that the man wanted to make love to her more than to take her life.
They had been in a relationship as a couple for several years. However, Henry's busy schedule as the next senator to replace his father who was currently a senator was what made them both take opposite paths.
However, Emily never bothered with that. When there were too many choices of men to share the romantic side with her. She did not seek and did not offer herself like a prostitute. Those men approached her, chasing her expensive attention from her precious time.
"Miss Emily, please follow me to the car. Mr. Crawford is waiting for you." The man wearing a black suit escorted Emily to the limousine in front of her apartment lobby door.
Emily wore a red silk dress with a low back and a halterneck that exposed part of her cleavage. The dress was ankle-length with a slit that reached halfway down her thigh. Her appearance was graceful and sexy, making all eyes that looked at her not blink as she strutted through the lobby of her apartment.
She got into the limousine alone. Hendry's man sat next to the driver's seat.
The car sped through the busy traffic. Emily stared at the lights of Chicago that had been turned on, illuminating the darkness of the night. She remembered her father, she had not heard from him for almost a month.
The busy trial schedule made her forget about the only family left in this world.
Emily's mother had passed away before them 2 years ago due to blood cancer that had reached stage 4. Both Emily and Attorney Lincoln, her father, had let go of the woman they loved so much. They could not bear to see their loved ones suffer because of the disease that was eating away at their bodies.
After 30 minutes of travel, Emily arrived at one of the skyscrapers in Chicago. She got out of the limousine and went straight to the elevator. Emily pressed the number 50, the floor where Henry Crawford's penthouse was located.
When the elevator door opened, the handsome man was standing in front of her. Emily laughed softly, she felt flattered that Henry picked her up to the elevator door. Maybe it was her bodyguard who had informed her master of her arrival.
"Good evening, Beautiful. You are so stunning tonight. I can't wait to enjoy this long night with you," said Henry Crawford while extending his right hand to Emily like a gentleman. He was wearing a black suit with a dark gray shirt underneath without a tie.
"Good evening, Henry. You are very handsome tonight. Are we really just going to have dinner at your penthouse? You are so neat," replied Emily while walking side by side with the man towards the super luxurious penthouse.
On the 50th floor which is the top floor of the skyscraper, there are only 2 penthouses. One belonged to Henry Crawford and he didn't know who owned the other because he had never met the owner of the super luxurious penthouse, who was clearly also a super rich person.
"We'll just be in my penthouse. I don't want to share the beautiful view of your body with anyone else." Hendry opened the door of his penthouse, inviting Emily to come in, then closed it again.
They walked hand in hand towards the dining table where so many luxurious dinner menus were served by the chef. A waiter stood beside the dining table to serve their dinner, a romantic dinner.
Emily just smiled at Henry when they were sitting side by side at the round dining table.
"Let's start dinner, Emily, dear. Please pour the champagne, Bernie!" said Henry elegantly.
They both clinked glasses and said 'cheers'. With great attention, Henry took the appetizer menu to Emily's plate, a shrimp avocado canape with cheese.
"This chef's cooking is really delicious, Henry," praised Emily after finishing the canape.
"Yes, he is indeed a rising star chef, have you ever heard of him... Chef Olaf Loubotin. He is an acquaintance of mine, a nice man and talented in the culinary field," said Henry, describing the chef who prepared their dinner.
"Let me get my own food, Henry. I don't want to bother you to serve me all the time," Emily snapped when Henry was about to get her the main course menu.
"Okay, go ahead, Em. Don't be shy," Henry replied with an amused grin.
Emily took a piece of grilled lamb chop with mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables. It turned out to be very tasty, she would remember the chef's name, Chef Olaf Loubotin. Later she would ask Henry for his contact number if one day she wanted to have dinner with her father.
After dinner, Henry told the waiter to leave them both. He invited Emily to sit on the sofa while watching the television that was broadcasting domestic news. It was natural because he had to always be updated with socio-political news as the next senatorial candidate.
"Em, can I ask you something a bit serious?" Henry asked while embracing Emily's slender body beside him as they sat on the sofa.
"Just ask, Henry."
"Would you accept me if I proposed to you to be my wife?" said Henry in his melodious baritone voice.
Emily suddenly turned her head in surprise at Henry's question. She was stunned as if she couldn't believe what she heard.
"Did I hear you right, Henry? You want to propose to me as your wife?" Emily repeated.
Hendry smoothed Emily's long wavy brown hair to the left side of her face and kissed the crook of her neck that smelled of expensive perfume. "You heard me right, Em. I'm serious."
Emily slowly moved away from Henry's body. "I can't accept your proposal, Henry. I'm sorry ...," Emily answered with a flat expression. She really liked her freedom, getting married meant being tied to one man for the rest of her life. Even though she got bored easily. Divorce was not as easy as people thought and was not a solution if one day she got bored.
Hendry moved his body forward until he was on top of Emily's body who was lying on the sofa because she was pressed back. He stroked Emily's face with the back of his hand. "Why can't I? I can satisfy you in bed, Beautiful. Our status in society is also equal, of course we will be an ideal couple. You are beautiful and intelligent and have a brilliant career as a prosecutor, while I am a handsome and powerful man, the next senator candidate. What else makes you hesitate?"
Henry's lips traced Emily's jawline then down to her slender neck and continued down to the twin mounds that were rounded and full on the woman's chest.
The touch did make Emily feel a little floaty. However, she didn't want to have a husband anytime soon. She decided to be elegant, there was no point in answering Henry's offer head-on. It would get her into trouble in the future, Emily thought.
"Henry ... can we talk about it later. I want to enjoy this beautiful night with you. Is that okay?" Emily coaxed evasively.
The man certainly couldn't refuse Emily's request which felt like it was soaring his dreams. A charming woman invited him to make love, would he just let an opportunity like this pass him by, he thought.
Henry carried Emily's slender body to his bed. He would make sure the woman was satisfied and accepted his marriage proposal.
He took off his suit and shirt until his whole body was bare while looking at Emily who was smiling waiting for him on the bed. As far as he could remember, Emily was an active and fun bed partner, not the shy type and very experienced in treating a passionate man.
Emily let Henry's hands explore her body and took off her red dress that was so challenging. Her hands touched Henry's body with a soft caress from the back of his head down to his neck then Henry's muscular chest and stomach rose and fell seductively. Staring into the man's blue eyes while smiling seductively. They locked lips hungrily, intertwining each other's tongues while touching each other seductively.
Henry brought Emily's hand to touch the evidence of his passion that was so strong and ready to take her to the peak of their lovemaking tonight. He hissed at the touch of Emily's hand that was so soft and experienced. He felt he couldn't stand to unite the existing passion anymore. So he spread Emily's thighs with his knees and positioned his own in the woman's love hole.
"Emily ... are you ready?"
The quick footsteps echoed in Emily's ears as she helped her youngest son get dressed in the little prince's room."Darling, I've been looking for you all this time!" said Sultan Murat, standing at the doorway of their second son's room."This is my daily routine in the afternoon, bathing our sons. What's the matter, Your Majesty?" replied Emily, who had just finished combing the hair of three-year-old Prince Fazil in her lap.Murat smiled, looking at his well-cared-for sons by his beloved wife. However, he needed Emily alone at that moment. So he said, "Alright, I don't understand your routine, Emily dear. Hmm... come with me on a carriage ride. This is a special day for the two of us. Leave the children with their nannies!"A playful laugh escaped Emily's full, parted lips. She suspected her husband was inviting her to share a nostalgic moment of intimacy with him. "Ready, Your Majesty. Your wish is my command!" she replied, kneeling before Sultan Murat. The maids who looked after P
After signing the marriage certificate with the man who had just become her husband at city hall, Emily spoke privately with her father."Dad, what about my job as a district attorney in Illinois?" Emily asked, feeling confused by all the sudden changes in her status and Murat's plans to take her to Istanbul as soon as possible. Lincoln Carter responded to his daughter's concerns, "Emily, I'll give you some advice. Regarding your job, submit your resignation for valid reasons. The United States Judicial System will understand the sudden nature of your resignation.""But, Dad—""No buts. Listen to me, a good fighter knows when to stop after reaching the peak of his long journey. That's why there's the term 'hanging up the gloves,' and the same applies to you, Emily. Let the good memories of you and your spotless reputation throughout your legal career be remembered by the people of Chicago and its surroundings. Now your new family needs your fight for them!" Lincoln Carter gripped his
"Doctor, please let me see Rayden one last time!" Emily grabbed Dr. Wilbur Anderson's hand."I'm sorry, but his instructions were that if he didn't survive, you wouldn't be allowed to see him again. The body will be flown to Paris immediately for burial. Perhaps you should go home now. Excuse me!" the emergency room doctor replied, then turned back to his office.Lincoln Carter hugged his sobbing daughter, feeling deeply guilty for all the heartless decisions he had made since Rayden's dinner invitation arrived at his office. "Emily, dear, let go of the past. Remember, you must stay calm for the sake of the baby growing in your womb. A stressed mother can miscarry!" the former prosecutor comforted her while stroking Emily's long hair."Let's go home now, Dad. Can I take tomorrow morning off?" Emily said, wiping her stuffy nose."Of course you can. You need to draw a line between your work as a prosecutor and your personal life as Emily Rosalyn Carter. Papa is concerned because you're
"Miss Emily Carter, please come to the emergency room at Chicago General Hospital. A traffic accident patient named Mr. Rayden Zinedine Dabusche needs your presence immediately. We are waiting for you!" said a woman who claimed to be a nurse on duty at the hospital that received the victims of a tragic car crash tonight.Hearing the request from the unknown woman on the phone, Emily hesitated to go to the mentioned hospital. However, if Rayden truly needed her presence, she would feel guilty for refusing to come. "Alright, I'll come immediately!" Emily decided, following her inner voice. She changed her clothes to go out and woke up her father to accompany her to the hospital.Lincoln Carter, awakened in the middle of the night by his daughter, didn't ask many questions. He chose to see what urgent situation was unfolding. While riding in the taxi that was always on standby in front of the apartment, Emily explained to her father about the phone call from the woman who claimed to be
When Murat finished reading Emily's email informing him that she was six months pregnant, he felt uneasy. The new sultan of the Ottoman Empire wanted to bring his lover to the palace. However, his reign was still plagued by low levels of trust in his leadership. Coup after coup had to be faced by him. Threats of assassination against Murat from the opposition lurked at every corner of the palace. Fortunately, General Hersek and the military leaders fully supported Murat's government. Security measures were tightened to ensure the safety of the new sultan. At dawn, Murat stood on the balcony of his palace room on the third floor. The view of the open sea with hundreds of ships floating off the peninsula stretched before him. Power over all of Turkey was in his hands. The young sultan took a deep breath while gripping the balcony railing, shouting loudly to release his pent-up emotions. "Emily, I miss you. I also want to be with you when you give birth to our son. Name him Mehmed, lik
Emily went through her pregnancy accompanied by her beloved father, former Chicago prosecutor Lincoln Carter. The elderly man accompanied his only daughter everywhere, and he also helped Emily review case files that were going to trial so she wouldn't get tired from working. The reason was that he was still able to do his job as a prosecutor and was currently unemployed."So when is the first hearing for the Harvey Robinson case, Emily?" asked Lincoln Carter, sitting beside his daughter in the official car. They were heading to Chicago City Hall for work this morning.Emily, who had been daydreaming about Murat while staring at the side of the road as the official car drove by, turned to her father and replied, "The first hearing for the murder case of the female prostitute will be held the day after tomorrow. Judge Louis Bernard Miller will preside over the trial, Dad.""Oh, that young judge. He once wanted to propose to you about five years ago, but I refused because I knew you were
