Chapter 14: Angela pov

As though he senses my presence, he glances up from his phone but then his gaze locks onto me and he freezes in place.

Breathe, just breathe, give him a moment to process, don’t panic.

I repeat my mantra in my head as I stand in place watching his reactions to seeing me out of my baggy clothing.

“Angel?”

His groan makes my blood warm, and I slowly walk closer to him as he watches me, similar to how a predator will watch its prey. My palms become sweaty and finally I am standing close enough to him that he can reach out to me.

He gestures to my figure with his hands as his eyes soak in every detail making me feel naked despite wearing two layers of clothes. A nod is all I can manage to acknowledge his question and he smiles.
