Chapter 4. Office work

I still remember the feeling I felt when we first kissed.

--

Beauty's POV

I woke up with a headache. Thank goodness it's Saturday today, and I have two days to fix myself in this mess. I stood up and went straight to the kitchen for a coffee.

Oh my God!

I nearly let go of my cup when I remembered what happened last night. My whole body felt cold when I remembered the kiss. I shook my head and laughed a little bit.

That wasn't me. I'm a very reserved person, but the hell, yes, I was crazy.

All I have is beauty but not brains.

As I sipped my coffee, I found myself silently cursing while imagining his kisses that had the power to melt me.

Oh, God! What's wrong with me? Oh, hang on, I forgot something. . . Ceilo!

I grabbed my phone and dialed her number.

"Ceilo? My goodness! Are you okay? Did you get home safely? I'm sorry I forgot about you."

She laughed in the line before talking. "Don't you know that you are like that? Whenever you get drunk, you suddenly disappear. Wossh!"

"Sorry. I didn't mean to leave you there. " I twisted my lips in response.

"I-I wasn't that drunk anyway. I got bored, so I got home," I lied. If only she knew what had happened, she'd probably kick my ass like how my big sister always does to me whenever I get drunk.

"I've heard from June, one of the bouncers, that someone invited you from the top. I'm hoping it wasn't Bradley."

I pressed my lips together. That name is somehow familiar. Shit! Now I remember, and yes, it was definitely Bradley. If it wasn't for a stranger named Drew, I don't know what would have happened to me.

"It was Bradley," I said, "But I'm alright. Nothing was going on. I'm thankful that someone helped me. "

"Thank goodness. I forgot to tell you that Bradley is an animal. Next time, if you happen to meet him again, tell him that we're best friends. That's the only way that demon won't touch you."

"Really? Is he that bad?"

"Yes, remember I told you about someone? That was Bradley. His eyes are like a scanner. He can identify who's a virgin and who's not, and when he saw you, he probably sensed that. He will offer you something in return in exchange for your virginity. It's a good thing nothing bad happened to you."

I nodded, drinking my coffee while listening to her. I'm still sleepy. I put the phone on the loudspeaker to ponytail my hair.

"Who drove you home?"

"I don't know, but he seems famous. All the girls were standing in line, going crazy for him. And when we went down to exit the place, they all screamed like crazy. Most of it was like. . . Oh, Drew, I love you! Fuck me, please!" I laughed, mimicking the word.

"What?! Who?"

"His name is Drew. I heard Bradley call him Drew. I don't know who he is. Who cares anyway." I shrugged my shoulders while drinking the last drop of coffee and rolled my eyes when I remembered our kiss.

"O shit! That was Drew Mondragon. Oh my goodness!" She exclaimed loud enough that I needed to cover my ears.

"You're so lucky, Beauty! Did something happen? Oh my God, it's Drew Mondragon, girl. The most sought-after billionaire of all time!" She screamed.

I shook my head. "No, nothing happens. H-He just dropped me home. That's it!" I shrugged my shoulders. I know what happened, alright, and I have no plan of telling her about it. It should be erased!

Ceilo swore and laughed. "Oh well, too bad. If it were me, I would do whatever he wants. He can take me to bed. Oh, please!" Ceilo sounded melted.

My mouth parted after hearing her voice.

Huh, Great! Another fanatic of him, really?

"Don't you know that you were lucky last night? Gosh, I wish it was me. I want to meet the Mondragon boys. I want to date any one of them. I'll be over the moon if that happens."

I chuckled and sighed. "Yeah, yeah, but not me," I said, partly yes and no. The kiss was heaven! I love that. But I'm so ashamed to see him again. I hope our paths will never cross again.

"I don't know them anyway, and that will be the last of it. I don't want to go out and party anymore. I will concentrate on my sister's work. I better do that."

"Yes, Beauty, you better do that, or your sister will kill you. Protect her job! That's your mission." She laughs.

Talk about the mission, alright? I want to have a modeling career. This is why I'm doing this, for Christ's sake!

"I'll talk to you soon, Ceilo. I need to clean up."

"Not a problem. Byee!"

I look terrible looking at my reflection in the mirror. My mascara was making a map down to my lips, and my lipstick smudges were all over my face.

Oh, shit! Did he kiss me like this? What the. . . Beauty!!!

I covered my face and ran straight to the shower. Thank goodness he doesn't know me. I don't want to see him again.

Two days of contemplating my mistakes and cleaning the house freshened the whole of me—no more Jasper, no more heartache, and I felt a lot better. Honestly, the kiss from Drew that night helped me forget about Jasper completely. It felt like Jasper had been utterly eliminated from my system. I'm glad I felt that. I'm so happy.

"My goodness, Beauty! I'm going to go nuts with these!"

My body jerked the moment Bobita dropped the thick papers on the table. I was daydreaming again. I thought I'd be okay after two days, but not really, because I can still imagine and feel Drew's kisses on my lips.

What is wrong with me!? I need to see a doctor. I need help.

"W-What's wrong, Bobita?" I asked, looking at all the papers on the table.

"Mr. DJM will be back tomorrow."

"And so?" my brow rose, checking the papers in the folder. These are all my sister's workloads for today, and there are many to do by the look of it.

"Seriously, Beauty? Mr. DJM is your sister's boss, the owner and CEO of our company. The dragon!"

I stilled, feeling anxious. "R-Really?"

"Yes, Beauty, everyone calls him Mr. DJM. You have to address him like that, too. And when he is not around, we call him the dragon —the hot, sexy beast dragon, yum!"

My lips parted when he acted like a cat, scratching seductively at my face.

"So better prioritize this today, Beauty. Mr DJM wants it tomorrow."

"What?"

"Yes, darling Beauty, you can do it. Fighting!" Bobita's eyes twinkled.

"Okay, I will do it." As if I have another choice. I have none!

"That's the spirit, Beauty. Maintain your sister's position, okay? I know you can handle the dragon tomorrow. Let me remind you again that your work is exclusively from your boss. Bear that in mind. I noticed that you were doing Donna's work a week ago. That's her job and not yours. She's not your boss. So, learn to say no."

I swallowed, feeling confident now. Bobita was right. Donna was a user. That bitch!

"Get it?" Bobita cracked a smile, and I nodded. He then trailed off.

After finishing the paperwork, I tidied up the dragon's office and made sure everything was spotless. Then I got a message from my sister Amalia telling me to double-check the ledgers report before going home. I smiled and tapped my phone for a quick response.

"I need this later, Beauty."

Even though I wasn't looking at her face, I already knew her voice. It was Donna.

I scrunched my nose at her ominous greeting and looked at her in the eyes. I had enough of her. She and Jasper can go to hell for all I care!

"I believe that's not my job, Donna," I mouthed, feeling bitchy now. She started this and not me. I'm not an enemy, but if she wants me to become a bitch then I will gladly accept it.

"I will only accept orders from my boss, and it happens that Mr. DJM is my only boss in this company. So, shoo! And find another minion." I squinted, my heart tripping in both fear and wariness.

We stood our ground, and I had no intention of backing down. As a temporary employee, I have rights, and it's not fair to be treated this way. Donna is aware of this.

She let go, almost bursting as she stormed out of my office.
