On the Dining Table

last update Last Updated: 2025-04-03 09:52:46

His drunken conversation with Luca last night was still ringing in Damian's head as he woke up. Damian sat up and stretched his body for a moment. And he sighed to face another hard day.

He ignored them when they were around and started missing them once they were gone. It was a law of nature. And he ignored them because of Selena at the end of their lives. Now, only Selena was left. Shouldn't he make the most of it?

That morning, Damian had breakfast alone. He sat down as the maids paced back and forth preparing the food. He was about to touch the cutlery on the side of the plate, but suddenly remembered Selena's back and waist that were right in front of him when he did it in the office, on the table.

"Fuck. Call Selena over here!" he said, sounding annoyed.

He hadn't done that in a while. Which made him need Selena to get over himself on the weekends. He touched his food while waiting for Selena's presence.

The maid soon took a step towards Selena's room.

Selena shut herself in the bathroom. She was in the shower, squatting while soaking her body. Her tears continued to fall. The culprit was obviously Damian. Coming out of the bathroom, Selena just lay on her bed. She thought about what she would normally be doing at this hour. She longed for her freedom, even though she knew she was busy at this time of day and occasionally joked with her friends at work. Damian himself left right after that. There was business to be done. "No, he's not approachable. He is really selective about the people around him. Including women. He did have many women before, but he doesn't dare to touch other women casually." The woman spoke while looking at Damian from afar, sipping her drink slowly. She looked closely at Damian's figure who was engrossed in conversation. "Looks like he's still grieving too. Ah, losing just one is painful. He lost six at once. It must have been so hard for him that he didn't come to any events for the past two weeks. He turned out to be a sweet guy." "Sweet? Oh, I admit he's handsome and rich. It's just six women?! You've got to be kidding me. Soon, I'm sure soon he'll be like before too. He'll have many women by his side," replied the other. The three women looked at Damian again. As Damian seemed to be leaving the quiet party. And the three did not try too hard to approach him again. "Mr. Sagaras seems to have a unique personality. Selena ate quite heartily, though looking alert and wary. She was quite scared and nervous when she saw that Damian's plate was almost empty. She watched for a long time how Damian finished his food, and Selena looked down while continuing to be busy with her food. Selena glanced at Damian who put down his cutlery and was silent. She continued eating hesitantly. Damian didn't tell her whether she should stop when he was done or not. So, she just continued eating awkwardly. Meanwhile, Luca who was sitting in front of Damian was watching Damian and Selena. "What's my schedule today?" Damian glanced at Luca while buttoning his shirt sleeves. "You have to check on the branch company, because there seems to be some problems. Then lunch with a client at a restaurant and in the afternoon, it's your workout schedule. I can get rid of the exercise schedule-""No need. My body is starting to ache from not exercising lately." Selena listened to their conversation while

Damian's legs were open at the moment so Selena sat on one of his legs. "Do you smoke?" asked Damian, looking at Selena who didn't protest about her cigarette. Selena nodded her head slowly. "I used to smoke if I felt stressed." Damian raised his eyebrows, he was surprised for a moment but didn't show his expression. He had no idea that Selena used to smoke. And what he didn't know was that Selena stopped smoking when Axel came along. Axel had forbidden her to smoke back then. "Show me!" Damian seemed to doubt Selena's answer and gave her his cigarette. Selena stared at it for a moment and then was about to take it with her fingers, but Damian immediately pushed it away. He wanted the cigarette to stay in his hand. Damian looked at Selena who was lying curled up to the right. She seemed to have fallen asleep after cleaning herself. And Damian pulled the blanket to cover her body, while sitting on her side, looking at Selena's bare shoulders which were quite beautiful from behind. The back of his hand slowly removed the few strands of hair that fell on her face and tucked them behind her ears with his fingers slowly. Once morning came, Selena opened her eyes and the first sight she saw upon waking was Damian's naked body. He seemed to have just taken a shower and was looking at something on his phone. Selena's face turned red and she closed her eyes again as she moved her body to face the other way. She had just woken up and her heart was already stirring on its own. "You're awake?" Damian didn't answer Luca's question. He was also thinking about what he had really done to Selena. Maybe that was what he wanted, to hold her captive, to take away her freedom and make her his. While Damian was preoccupied with his work, Selena looked at her legs, which were covered in bruises. And the burn on her knee she was paying close attention to at that moment. "It hurts..." she muttered under her breath, touching her shoulder which was aching and sore. She looked at the mirror again, gazing at the reflection of herself in a rather gruesome state. The bandages she had put on her temples, her bruised cheekbones and the corners of her lips dotted with dried blood. Even when the blood was still wet, it felt agonizing when she needed water. "Hmfph!" Selena covered her mouth, as she felt something rise from her stomach. Selena was pensive for a moment, after which her eyes widened due to the nauseous feeling she was experiencing. Selena fell to the floor. Her head hit the floor quite hard and the thin skin of her temple was bleeding after being hit by the fist of one of the maids. The maid seemed to be panting while staring at Selena. In her fist, there was a ring that caused Selena's temple to hurt after she hit her. The fallen girl whimpered softly while holding her head. She then sat up slowly, her head feeling dizzy at the moment. As she sat and endured the pain, the other maids approached simultaneously. At that moment, they kicked and stomped Selena at the same time. They didn't seem to think about the consequences of their actions. However, it looked like that day they would be safe for a while, until Selena's injuries improved. Because on that day, there was news that Damian would not be home for a few days on business. He was going abroad to do international relations. Selena sat in her room looking at her swollen face in the mirror. She stared at the medicine box the butler had

Derek's words managed to make Damian think about his words on the way home. . How could he not? Derek had mentioned that there was something wrong with him that Selena had left him. And what was wrong with him? "What's wrong with me?" Damian asked as he glanced at Luca who was next to him, sitting and looking questioning as usual anywhere and anytime. Luca turned to Damian with a hint of doubt on his face. He glanced at the street for a moment, thinking about what kind of answer he could give Damian. "Actually, it's just because of our different backgrounds. We run a legal company with an illegal business, so the way we deal with the problem is certainly not so morally minded. Selena, on the other hand, is just an innocent citizen who probably doesn't even know where and how businessmen like you operate," Luca explained.Damian could understand Luca's statement clearly even though Luca didn't say it in detail. Clearly, Selena was probably more informed and underst

Damian held Selena's clothes in his mansion. He inhaled until he found the scent he usually found from Selena. It seemed crazy, but that was Damian's current state. He's crazy because he hasn't found Selena for the past few days. His obsession makes him now have to vent his longing for Selena using unusual means. Like this moment. Selena's abandoned clothes are the only thing he intentionally uses to fulfill his own fantasies. He longed for that slender body in his hands. He desperately wanted to hold her again like she was his. "Where are you, Selena? Where exactly are you hiding from me?" Damian growled softly, closing his eyes quite tightly, hinting at his current frustration. "Uh... Ohh..." In the bathroom, the sound of him moaning could be heard. Trying to vent all his longing alone. He missed her unilaterally. He had no idea that everything he did would be connected to Selena and haunt her. Having managed to let go of everything he wanted to let go of,

"It makes no difference if you keep seeing me!" Selena grumbled as Damian interrupted her first day of freedom, even somewhat forcing her to eat ice cream together that afternoon. Damian accepted two ice creams. They were near the ice cream food truck and sat on a street bench. Damian thrust the ice cream at Selena, watching Selena who was still pouting as if she was reluctant to see him at all."It's obviously different," Damian replied as he savored the ice cream from the cup he was holding after Selena accepted another cup. "It's the same as us not breaking up." "Did we break up? Did we have a committed relationship before?" "Not really, anyway." Selena snorted as Damian said something that left her cornered and a little embarrassed that their understanding of their relationship was different. Selena looked at the ice cream in front of her. It reminded her of when Damian did some bad things to her. However, she didn't feel scared or traumatized either

"Selena!" Angela's joyful scream greeted Selena as she entered a sizable and luxurious house. She was also greeted by the servants who looked after the house. Selena looked confused at Angela and the servants who welcomed her. Even so, she smiled slightly to see Angela so cheerfully welcoming her. All Selena could feel was that the little girl didn't know anything, she was still naive about this. "Hello," greeted Selena kindly to her sister. "Sorry, Angela's attitude is too neutral to have anyone to hate. It's different with Arsella. Arsella... I hope you understand," Derek said with a subtle smile at Selena. "We're the same age, we're no longer children and we're adults. I understand." Derek was a little disappointed when he looked at Selena who didn't seem to have any intention of a close relationship, and was probably just using her as a foothold to get out of Damian's mansion. Even so, he thought this was better than having to go through Damian and

  • Become a Prisoner of The Mafia   Farewell

'She doesn't want me anymore.' Damian looked directly into Selena's eyes, trying to find a lie but what he found was her earnestness. Something that made him feel angry, upset, even visibly disappointed. "Please, I just want to be free. You took away my freedom all this time," Selena pleaded. "I love you, that's why I did it," Damian replied quickly. To hell with prestige and shame, Damian was currently using every means possible to keep Selena by his side, to keep her from going anywhere. And if Selena was a gentle and understanding person, just as she wanted to stay because of the child she was carrying, then the way he had to use was to gain her understanding. The moment Damian spoke of love, Selena frowned. It was as if she no longer believed in love. And what she saw in the ring Damian was currently offering were handcuffs that would continue to shackle her life. She had been oppressed all this time under Damian.

Damian frowned in disbelief at what he heard from Selena's mouth. Damian was quite provoked by what Selena said. Selena's recent behavior had indeed managed to make him feel annoyed. But considering her alarming condition, Damian tried to restrain himself. Now, in his eyes Selena was getting too much. "What makes you so brave to say that? Is it because you know who your father is and you feel that there is someone who will help you? You feel that your father will treat you well?!" Damian raised his voice even higher. For a moment, there was silence between them. Selena turned her face away, avoiding Damian's gaze. She still seemed unsure of her decision, but this seemed to make her even more certain. Selena uncovered the blanket on her lap. "Maybe so. The only one I can trust to protect me is my father. You should be self-aware, how can I trust you for what you've done so far?" Selena got up from her bed. She seemed to be about to avoid Damian who she still

  • Become a Prisoner of The Mafia   What Selena Wanted

For now, all Selena needs to think about is her health. She just needs to rest for the next few days. After being discharged from the hospital, Selena rested in the company of Damian who moved all his work to her room. Damian is currently like an overworked husband, so even when he is in the room, he is still working. "What's wrong, do you want a snack?" Damian realized that Selena was now staring at him steadily. "No, I was just thinking about something else," Selena replied. "Don't think about other things, just think about your health first!" Damian said. "I'm no longer pregnant now. You don't have to be responsible anymore," Selena retorted. Selena's thoughts made Damian stop his eyes at a word on the document he was reading. It just so happened that the word was 'disconnect' although there was a follow-up, 'work'. What a coincidence that Selena was thinking the same thing. "What are you really thinking about?" Damian lifted his face and looked dire

Without saying much, Damian pulled Selena into his arms. His hands firmly held Selena's body which felt very limp. The palm of his hand that was right behind Selena's head showed his delicate and considerate treatment at this moment. Seeing Selena crying at this moment, whether she was physically or mentally ill, it also indirectly hurt Damian. Damian had tried to control himself from feeling angry about losing his son. However, if Selena was like this, it managed to make him feel the same way Selena felt. Selena could feel how tight Damian's body was against hers. The half of her face that was right on Damian's chest allowed her to hear Damian's normal heartbeat, but it felt more intense. A few moments later, the emotional outburst Selena experienced passed, leaving the figure of Selena who was now just sitting back while hugging the warming pillow that was on her stomach. She stared blankly at Damian. "Luca and Grace want to see you, if you'll let them," Damian

Grace sat next to Luca eating the snack she had brought. And Luca ate with her, his stomach also empty as everything that had happened today prevented him from eating. "I can't be sure either. As far as I know, she wasn't emotionally involved with her baby. Once she found out she was pregnant, she didn't have any special reaction either," Grace murmured. "If you think about it, how she got pregnant was something wrong. I mean, she didn't do it with love. So, her pregnancy should be a mistake and not make her happy, right?" asked Luca while looking at Grace. "It wasn't wrong. But the concern is how she still wants to keep the baby. Although the reason behind it is rather painful. She said she'd only be looking at herself if she refused the baby. An unwanted baby, that's how she describes h
