View MoreDim light filled the room. A girl who woke up from her stupor slowly opened her eyes. Selena, who was tied to a wooden chair blinked her eyes to focus her blurry vision. And her face slowly lifted up to recognize the place she felt unfamiliar with.
"Are you awake, Selena?" The heavy male voice made Selena, who was still limp, turn her head slowly towards the man. And found his form enjoying a cup of coffee. Selena hissed softly, feeling her whole body aching. She cast her eyes around the room again. "Where is this?" she asked in a weak voice, barely audible at all. "In the interrogation room in my mansion. I'm sorry the light is dim, because I like it not too bright for people like you." Selena hissed softly and straightened her shoulders. She looked very pale and unhealthy at the moment. Not to mention, this place didn't seem to have any sun at all so it was cold with humidity. "Who are you? Why did you kidnap me?" Selena struggled to ask. "I'm Damian, hello there." The man chuckled softly, playing up his answer a little. "I have no money, and no one will ransom me. You kidnapped the wrong girl," Selena said as she leaned back against the chair limply, her head feeling heavy and dizzy. "Not really. I kidnapped the right person." Damian shook his head slowly and watched Selena who was so weak, he looked at her with disgust and sadness. Selena frowned, not understanding what Damian was talking about. She really didn't have a large sum of money to redeem herself. And there was no one who would redeem her either. She had no family, and her boyfriend had left her for dead. She was a single girl struggling to survive on her own. And now she's being kidnapped by an unknown person out of the blue. Probably to be enslaved or trafficked. Because seeing how this man didn't seem like a good person. "What do you want from me?" Selena asked as she looked at him, her breathing sounding a little heavy. "I want to take you captive to lure your boyfriend's whereabouts," Damian replied. "Boyfriend? You mean Axel? Ah, he's not my boyfriend anymore. He wouldn't be interested in what I'm doing, where I am, what I'm doing, what condition I'm in, everything," Selena replied. "Oh, yeah?" Damian tugged at the corner of his lips, he couldn't believe what Selena was saying. Selena closed her eyes for a moment. Her neck was sore, her head was spinning and her body was aching. Damian got up from his seat and approached Selena. The sound of his steps was firm and echoed in the closed room. He touched Selena's jawline and lifted her face up to look at him. And he took his phone out of his pocket, taking a picture of Selena looking up at him. He ignored what Selena had said earlier, about her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend. "Did you get the briefing for this? To stay away from each other, to take care of yourself, to cover up the weakness inside him. You... are his weakness." Damian smiled and put his cell phone back in his pocket. After taking a picture of Selena's face, the one in his hand was thrown away so lightly. Selena turned her head the other way because of it. Selena raised her face again and looked at Damian. "What do you mean, why am I his weakness?" Selena wrinkled her forehead. "Because you're his favorite person," Damian replied. "I'm telling you, okay. I'm no longer his favorite person, and that's highly unlikely. He and I have no relationship whatsoever. So it's pointless for you to kidnap me," Selena denied. Selena denied it, she was a little upset that having just broken up with her boyfriend for a few days, she had to get involved with someone else because of a past relationship. What's more, this man in front of her is not a random person when it comes to kidnapping. Plus the reason for the kidnapping, he was doing this for a reason, meaning he had a purpose. "Don't try to fool me!" Damian emphasized in a rather low voice. "I'm not lying. I really did. Your attempt to kidnap me was just to get my ex's attention, right? I'm no longer in a relationship with him. It makes me hate him, why would I get involved in something I don't even know what it is?!" Selena snarled. Damian tugged at one corner of his lips. His eyes darkened as Selena spoke the words, because what he saw was a lie. "I'm never wrong, girl!" said Damian, emphasizing his sentence. "Oh, yeah? Then this time you're wrong, admit it!" retorted Selena raising her voice. "Let go of me now! I'm no longer related to him, dammit! He's-" Without listening to her anymore, Damian immediately put his hand around Selena's neck, making Selena look up and feel a pressure that hurt her throat. It was painful and excruciating. Damian's hand pressed down, causing her airway to close as well. "Khh... khh..." A snoring sound came out of Selena's mouth. Damian calmly took out his cell phone again with his other hand. And he again photographed Selena who was on the verge of death if Damian continued to close her trachea, resulting in a reduced oxygen supply to the lungs. This would lead to death in the near future. After being satisfied with the results of his photo, Damian pulled his hand away and smiled at Selena's interest who immediately coughed. Her cough sounded dry and also very painful. Her breath was instantly taken in gasps, scooping up the oxygen around her. "Taking a breath already? Air is too precious for a weakling like you." Damian chuckled as he bent his body to look at Selena. Selena looked back at him with an angry look on her face. She coughed again. Her throat felt very uncomfortable now. She needed water. "I... I need water," she said with difficulty. "Ah, water?" Damian walked away, and grabbed a glass of water. He returned and offered it to Selena. Selena brought her lips to the glass, she wanted to reach for it, her bound hands were useless as usual. "You can't drink like how I drink." Damian then poured the water in the glass over Selena's head, pouring a little to show how he would give her a drink. Selena widened her eyes, her head feeling wet now. Selena's gaze looked darkly at Damian. Not liking Selena's gaze, Damian immediately grabbed her jaw to make Selena throw her head back. "You don't want to drink? Do as I say!" commanded Damian. Selena opened her mouth, she needed that water. And Damian poured it with a smirk on his lips. Selena tried to drink, she stared at the glass, trying to see when the water would run out. And as soon as the last drop entered her mouth, Selena closed her mouth. Damian laughed with satisfaction as the water soaked Selena's shirt as well. And unexpectedly, Selena spit out the water that was in her mouth, the water that she had deliberately left to spit out on Damian.Selena arrives at Damian's mansion, only at the gate because there are several people guarding there. And that made Selena get out of Axel's car, Axel helped her get her luggage out. When they saw Axel, the men immediately pointed their guns at him. "He's just here to drive me," Selena defended as she held back the person who was trying to get close to Axel, it seemed like he was about to threaten him up close. Seeing Selena made him just grunt and lower his weapon. The other three people who were there also lowered their weapons. Selena gulped, seeing how alert they were, coupled with how they obeyed her made her a little amazed. She had power over these people. "Master didn't say anything about your return. You came back too suddenly," one of them said while looking at Selena. "Oh, I intended to surprise him. Is he still working in the office?" Selena asked. "No, he's abroad." Selena turned to the source of the voice, the person who answered her quest
A few days later, Selena was finally about to return to Damian's mansion after being held back for a few more days by her grandmother. Her grandmother and mother wanted Selena to stay longer. So Selena could only promise she would visit again later. "I'll visit often," Selena said as she looked at her luggage, including the insects that had been prepared as souvenirs, an unusual souvenir. "Are you sure you're going to be with him all the time? You know, it would be better if you stayed at Mom's before you got married," Axel said as he carried Selena's luggage to the car."I'm not a kid anymore, there's no need to advise me on the decisions I've made," Selena replied with a sigh, she was a little annoyed Axel kept bringing it up. "You're really not a reliable granddaughter," Grandpa quipped, looking sarcastically at Selena. Selena looked at him with a little shock. Obviously she was offended by the remarks of the old man who seemed very cold and ignorant. She
"Mom, it looks like next week I'll be returning to Damian's mansion soon," Selena said. Sabrina looked at Selena with concern. "Hum? You're leaving so soon." "Ah, his friend Damian is going to propose to Grace. So, I want to be there. Remember, Grace? Grace is both a doctor and a friend to me." Selena explained slowly. "You've only been here a few days. Don't you miss your mom?" Grandma asked. "I've been here about a week. I'd like to stay longer, but I don't want to miss Grace's proposal. Besides, I'll be visiting this house often." Selena smiled, seemingly trying to convince them to return to Damian's mansion. She seemed to be trying to persuade them, even though she could have just left the place without making small talk. However, it was her way of honoring her family. Grandma sighed, it seemed hard to just let Selena go. Especially to Damian's mansion. Grandma only knew a few things about Selena, about her relationship with Damian, Selena wasn't su
"I think we should go to the branch company again. There are internal problems, some workers are on strike. They keep coming in for attendance but are reluctant to perform their duties." Damian frowned when Luca said that. Another week was his special day and they had to go abroad. Damian remembered Selena's advice not to push Luca too much, Luca needed to be in good health for his special day. "I'll go, you don't have to accompany me. Ask Leon to pick me up when I get there," Damian said with a sigh, he looked thoughtfully at the printed document. Astonished, Luca stopped his work and looked at Damian, obviously confused. "Suddenly?" Luca can't seem to believe Damian didn't ask him to accompany him as usual. "Not suddenly either. I just wanted you not to risk your health by traveling back and forth abroad before the day of your proposal. After all, I don't want our surprise to be ruined if you get sick and have to postpone it," Damian replies without lookin
"Selena, let's get up!" Grandma said as she opened Selena's bedroom door. However, she didn't find Selena in her bedroom that night. And that made her furrow her brow. Selena hadn't been seen at all since she woke up, she should be in her bedroom. She closed the door to Selena's bedroom again. "Axel, did you see where Selena went this early in the morning?" asked Grandma as she turned to Axel who was already in front of his laptop with a cup of coffee. Axel, who was sipping his coffee, immediately stopped it and looked at Grandmother. "No, I haven't seen her since earlier. Shouldn't she be in her bedroom? Usually she'd be up by now," Axel said, looking at his watch. "She's not there," said Grandmother. Axel got up and put his coffee back down as he moved to Selena's room. He opened the door to her bedroom and entered Selena's bedroom. Selena's room was still tidy, and while the bathroom door was open, there was no one in it. That made her brows furrowed
Sabrina could see the openness in Selena. Selena began to open herself more and more to Sabrina, from the way they began to share their feelings. Selena began to open up her feelings too. "Yes, it's sometimes because of hormones and moods. Sometimes we are very grateful and sometimes we will curse and swear." Sabrina chuckled softly, confirming Selena. An incoming message to Selena's phone made Selena stare at her phone for a moment, the voice also managed to catch Sabrina's attention. Selena glanced at Sabrina a little awkwardly, turning off her cell phone. "Is it Damian again?" asked Sabrina. "Right," Selena replied in a lower voice, she seemed embarrassed about this. Sabrina could notice how Selena's cheeks flushed at the mention of Damian. It made her laugh amusedly at her daughter's blushing reaction when she teased her. "Hahaha, you really blush if you look in the mirror now." Sabrina laughed amusedly. Selena just cupped her cheeks and could
