LOGINJules, shivered slightly at his tone of voice, then she said, "what's wrong with what I called you?"
"You have no right to call me that. you will address me as sir," Hero retorted, gritting his teeth.
"Okay, Sir grumpy," Jules said, teasingly, suppressing her laughter.
Hero clenched his fist and gnashed his teeth, to suppress his anger. He felt a burning rage, as he glared daggers at Jules.
Harley who was watching them suddenly remembered her favorite cartoon(Tom and Jerry), and her face lit up in excitement.
"I might as well sit down and enjoy the show, Harley thought, before strolling to one of the couches.
She popped on it, crossing her little legs, as she glanced from Jules to Hero.
"Listen very well you dimwit I don't like you, so you should do well to avoid me in the future," Hero rasped.
Jules rolled her eyes, putting her hands on her waist then she said, "Well, I don't like you either. who do you think you are? you dipshit."
"How dare you? who did you call a dipshit? you money monger," Hero growled, taking a quick stride toward her. He has never felt so angry as he did now.
The fact was, no one has ever stirred such a reaction from him, they didn't have the guts to.
Jules stood her ground not backing away, as she matched his glare. "You also called me a dimwit, and a money monger, what gives you the right to?" She retorted.
The both of them entered into a glaring contest. If someone were to see them, he would think they were couples at war.
Just then, Harris walked into the house. He glanced at the two, before tilting his gaze to Harley who sat there watching the scene in amusement.
"I might as well join her," he thought, going to sit beside Harley.
"Hey chubby, what did I miss?"
Harley tilts her gaze to meet his, then with gritted teeth, she said, "how many times have I warned you not to call me chubby. Just look at me, look at this body, I'm sexy, not chubby."
Harris chuckled, then he said, "whatevs! just tell me what is going on between those two."
Harley rolled her eyes. "Well as you can see, they are both fighting. Lord grumpy, didn't like that mommy called him lord grumpy, and mommy also didn't like the fact that lord grumpy yelled at her, that's why they are fighting," Harley narrated.
Harris's lips curled into a smirk, and he wished he arrived much earlier to witness the beginning of the show.
"Chubby, don't you think this show deserves a name?"
Harley clenched her fist in anger because Harris called her chubby again, but she decided to ignore it.
"I already gave it a name. Tom and Jerry," she replied.
"No chubby, that is the name of a cartoon, we should give it another name like the urhm, adventure of Lord grumpy, and the beautiful step mom," Harris suggested.
Harley's eyes lit up immediately and she turn to Harris and said, "This is the first time, you actually used your brain well, I like the name."
Harris scoffed before he tilted his gaze back to Jules and Hero.
Unfortunately, the show was cut off by Harper Scott. "What is going on here?" He yelled, walking downstairs with Hardin trailing behind him.
Both Jules and Hero twirled to meet his gaze.
"He/she started it," they both said at the same time.
Harper Scott sighed, walking downstairs to meet them. "Hero, I have told you before that you must respect your step mom, whether you're older than she is, as long as she's married to me, you must do so."
Hero scoffed. "And I also told you dad, that will never happen. I will never treat this gold digger, with respect."
Jules raised her brow, did he just call me a gold digger? she promptly moved closer to him and used force to step on his feet.
Arghh! Hero yelped in pain, jumping on one foot, while Jules quickly went and hid behind Harper Scott.
Hardin clenched his fist in anger when he saw what happened. "She so bad, so bad. I'm sure she was the one who picked on, brother first. what a vile lady," Hardin thought.
While Harris and Harley on the other hand, burst into a fit of laughter, finding it funny. Mr.Harper also found it funny but kept a straight face.
"Did you see that dad, did you see what that witch just did to me?" Hero roared in anger.
"Stop whining son, you were the one who cursed at her," Mr. Harper retorted.
"Dad, I can't believe you are supporting her."
Harper Scott rolled his eyes at his son, then he said, "she is my wife, I have to support her. If you don't like it, you can as well leave the house. Although he didn't mean what he said, he knew that if Hero did, there would be no way, he would get Jules and him together.
Hero chuckled, not believing his ears. He couldn't believe that his father was asking him to leave the house, all because of the gold digger.
Although he had other houses, he didn't want to stay in them. He wanted to be with his family, so there is no way he was going to leave, especially not because of his so-called stepmom, instead, she will be the one to leave.
Hardin also did not like the fact that his dad was asking Hero to leave.
"Dad, how can you ask brother to leave the house because of her?" He chipped in.
"Hey blabber mouth, you had better keep quiet before I shave off your hair," Harley yelled at him, not liking the fact that Hardin was cursing at Jules.
Hardin scoffed, rolling his eyes. Although he was a little scared that Harley would carry out her threat, he did not show it.
Harper Scott was tired of their blabbering, so he decided to change the topic.
"Are you guys not hungry?" he asked, playfully.
Hero scoffed. He knew what his father was trying to do but ignored him. "I'm not hungry," he muttered, climbing the stairs.
"I am, but first I have to shower," Harley yelled.
Jules smiled, before saying "Come, Lily, I'll help you bath."
Harley immediately jumped down from the couch, running to her, and together they left the living room.
...
A few minutes later, everyone sat at the dining table, except for Hero.
"Lily, I made your favorite, spaghetti and beef sauce," Jules tells Harley.
"Yeiii," Harley squealed, giggling happily.
Hardin rolled his eyes and mumbled "glutton," under his breath. Although he didn't want to eat the food prepared by Jules, he was hungry and wanted to know if she can cook.
While Mr. Harper smiled, giving Jules an appreciative look. He had noticed that Harley was always happy ever since Jules came into their life.
"Wow Mrs.Scott, that looks good," Harris muttered when Jules dished out the food.
Jules smiled, then she said, "Thank you."
Hardin scoffed. "Let's hope it tastes as good as it looks."
"Hardin, keep quiet or I'll make sure you go hungry," Mr. Harper reprimanded...
After Jules served everyone, they all dug into it.
"Hmm, yummy. Mommy is a great cook," Harley commended, and both Mr. Harper and Harris agreed with her. Hardin on the other hand also thought the food was nice but he didn't say anything.
Instead, he said inwardly, "who would have thought the gold digger can cook, I bet that's the only good quality she has...
After they finish their meal, they all sat in the living room, chatting with each other.
Harper Scott didn't like the fact that Hero was absent and he wanted to discuss something, with him.
He thought about asking one of the maids to call him, but he knew that Hero would not listen to any of them. So instead, he decided to send the only person Hero couldn't say no to and that person was Harley.
Mr. Harper cleared his throat, before saying, "Princess, can you go upstairs and get your brother downstairs, I want to discuss something urgent with him."
Harley nodded, before walking away.
Meanwhile, Hero sat in his room, sorting out some files when he heard a knock on his door.
"Who is it?" He inquired, tilting his gaze to the door.
There was no reply, but the door opened, and Harley barged in, walking majestically like she own the room.
"Hey, Lord grumpy," she called strolling to where he was.
"You didn't eat with us. you missed. The food was very tasty and mommy made it herself," she added.
Hero scoffed, and his gaze darken at the mention of Jules. He was glad that he didn't eat with them, he wouldn't want to eat the food made by someone like her.
He also didn't like the fact that Harley was so fond of her.
"Tell me chubby, what's the reason you like that bad woman?"
Harley was taken aback by his question, and she wondered why he was suddenly asking that, but she answered anyway.
"Because she's a good and nice person."
Hero scoffed. "You are still a child, that's why you are fooled by her innocent looks," he said.
Harley also scoffed, before saying, "I'm not a child anymore, I'm seven. No one is fooling me, I know she's good because my heart tells me so. unlike you Lord grumpy, you wouldn't know because you don't listen to your heart."
"Why do you say that chubby?" Hero asked, raising his brow.
"Because people who don't listen to their heart, are usually very grumpy, just like you."
Hero chuckled in amusement, how could she say a thing like that about him.
"Chubby, you know that's not true."
"Of course, it is. Just try using your heart for once, and you'll do the right thing. Anyways, I'm not here to discuss all that, I need you to come downstairs with me right now, it's urgent," Harley told him.
Hero gave her a questioning look, then he said "What for?"
"Don't ask questions grumpy, just come with me and you'd find out."
Hero was hesitant and didn't want to go because he didn't want to meet Jules, but he knew that if he didn't, Harley would never let him be.
Hero followed Harley out of the room and when they reached downstairs, everyone stopped talking, turning in their direction.
Harper Scott smiled. He was happy that he could now tell Hero what he wanted to.
"Come sit son," Mr. Harper urged.
Hero dragged his feet and sat opposite his father, but not before casting Jules a hateful glare. while Harley went and sat beside Jules.
"Hero, the reason I called you here is to discuss something important," Mr. Harper announced.
Hero thought, his father wanted to discuss his moving out, so he said, "Forget it, Dad, I'm not moving out."
Mr. Harper rolled his eyes. "That's not the reason I called you here."
"Then why did you call me?"
"I called you because I wanted to ask you to let Jules work in your company."
What! everyone yelled, staring at him in disbelief.
"What did you say, dad?" Hero asked to be sure he was not hearing things.
"I said, I want Jules to work in your company...
Seeing the dangerous glint in the strange man's eyes, Jules's heart began to race. She refused the man again and immediately turn on her heel and began to run. The man chased after her, honking and laughing at her. "Come on pretty lady, why are you running away, I mean no harm I just want us to have some fun." Jules ran faster, adrenaline coursing through her veins as she felt him closing in on her again and again. A scream of fright tore through her lips as she tripped over a her own foot falling to the ground before she could catch herself. The man laughed at her, circling around her with his car on high speed."Help," Jules's cry came out as a whisper followed by a painful groan as she tried to pull herself up and pain shot through her sprained ankle. She should have just waited like the security guard told her or better still remained on Hero's porch. If she'd done that he certainly wasn't going to let her stay outside his house all night. He wasn't that heartless or perhaps he
The weather was already turning gloomy when she reached westernhill. One of the Scotts chauffeur had driven her there. Jules's mind raced as they came to a stop in front of a huge mansion, thought it wasn't as big as the Scotts mansion the exterior design was just as grand and exquisite. "Madam, we've arrived at Master Hero's house," the chauffeur announced as he drove through the driveway. Jules heaved a sigh to calm herself, placing a hand over her pounding heart. 'You're just going there to give him food nothing more,' she continuously reminded herself however when the car came to a halt in front of the mansion, she was tempted to tell the chauffeur to turn the car around. However Emelia had insisted and even begged her so she had no choice but to agree. Hero was a grown man who could take care of himself why was the old madam stressing over his eating habit. Furthermore, if he'd just remained in the mansion Emelia wouldnt've to worry. Perhaps he left because of
Jules eyes widened in shock, a gasp escaping her lips. How did he find out? Was it Hero who told him after telling her to keep it a secret? But then he seemed very serious about keeping that secret until he had some kind of evidence to atleast justify their action. Then who else knew about what happened? "How did you know something happen between us? Who told you?" Jules blurted out, her expression morphing into curiosity. Mr.Harper chuckled then he replied. "So something did happen between both of you. I had my suspicion since both of you were acting suspicious but I wasn't sure until you confirmed it," triumph filled his gaze for a brief moment then disappeared like it was never there. "Sh*t... Jules cursed under her breath giving her fake husband an awkward smile. She couldn't deny it now even if she wanted to. "I know you brought me here for another reason and sincerely I didn't mean for something like that to happen. We just got drunk at the party and... and we... W
Hero paused for a second, snatching the file as he turned toward him. He proceeded to open it but paused when he saw Bryan peering at the file with interest. "You can go," Hero dismissed him, walking toward his seat. It wasn't until Bryan's left that Hero opened the file. There were several photos of him and Jules at the party. Including photo of them entering into the same room. The more he looked at the photos the more his scowl deepened. It could ruin their family reputation if people found out that Jules's was his stepmother. However he was more concerned about his relationship with his father. Heaving a sigh, Hero tapped his fingers lightly on his desk as he dialed a number."Mr.scott," a voice came from the other side of the phone. "I want you to track the waiter who served mine as well as Jules Verne's drink at the party report directly to me once you find it," he sets the phone aside once he was done talking heaving another sigh. He couldn't bring himself to work no matter
Even though she didn't want to talk about it, she figured that she wouldn't be able to run away from the fact that something'd happened between them. Stopping on his track, Hero whirled in Jules's direction. "We won't talk about anything_ It was a mistake that wasn't supposed to happen and I regretted it," his gaze darkened as he retorted in a stern tone then he turned around and walked away hastily. Jules watched his retreating figure, feeling extremely hurt. He was not wrong to feel that way especially as he thought she was married to his father. Perhaps if she told him the truth... Jules quickly shrugged the thought. She'd made a deal with Mr Harper she couldn't break that deal even though she was feeling a certain type of way toward his son. Heaving a sigh, Jules returned her mom's ward. 'If he didn't come to talk about the matter, why did he come in first place?' She said to her, still feeling hurt. Glancing in Jules's direction, Julia smiled but it was immediate
"Father, I have something important to discuss with you_ it's about Jules and me," Hero announced, however, he was cut off by his grandmother, as she walked into the room."Hero, you are back? But where is Jules?" She asked, giving him a curious look."Is she not back?" He retorted, knitting his brow in question. 'But I asked Benson to send her to the airport.'Hero's attention was now diverted to something else, forgetting about what he wanted to discuss with his father. However, Mr.Harper's thoughts were filled with what his son wanted to discuss. 'Could it be about what happened in N-city? Did something really happen between miss Verne and him like the paparazzi suggested?'Many thoughts ran through Mr.Harper's mind, and he completely zoned out from his mother and son's discussion. Instead, his lips subconsciously curved into a smirk.Hero, on the other hand, took his phone to put a cut across to the chauffeur. Whilst Emelia stares at him in disbelief. "Don't tell me you don't know
