Prince John heard so he turned to Prince Berthiel and raised the iron net, looking at down at the Prince who was drenched in his own blood. "What are you talking about?"

They could hear the fear in his tone even though he tried to hide it.

Prince Berthiel struggled to raise his head then pinned Prince John a deadly glare. "You will die" he sneered. "I promise you. You will die the most painful death at the hands of my brother."

Prince John's eyes widened. "There's another one?" He turned to Nathan. "I thought you said this is the only heir! You lied to me!"

Nathan began to panic. "He is! I didn't lie! He is the only heir! He's the only son of the King!"

Prince Kayziel chuckled deeply. It was a good thing that Nathan didn't know about Zedekiel. After all, Zedekiel rarely showed himself. Berthiel was the outgoing one.

Hearing that, King Fayziel couldn't help but laugh. "Is that what he said, Berthiel? Will he avenge us?"

Despite the agonising pain, Prince Berthiel nodded. "He promised m

The infirmary reeked of blood and magic. Behind a linen screen, Prince Ron laid on a bed, pale and trembling, his skin slick with sweat. He had been pumped full of medicine that was meant to lull him to sleep but it had failed miserably. He didn't know if it was because of his newly unsealed powers but the medicine did not work for he didn't feel even the least but drowsy. Every slice of pain ripped a raw scream from his throat. The Ice Fairy Queen stood on his right, her pale lips trembling as she absorbed wave after wave of his agony, while another ice fairy mirrored her on the left, both their hands clasping Ron’s. Frost spread across their arms as they drew the pain from him but it wasn’t enough. Prince Ron was still in terrible pain. They were all drenched in sweat, the air thick with heat and magic. Some minutes later, the younger fairy wavered first, her knees buckling before she collapsed, her lips blue from the strain. She couldn't absorb any more pain and the second she s

Zedekiel lunged forward in a blur of silver and frost, his sword raised—but before he could reach them, Dareth flicked his wrist. A burst of invisible force rippled outward, catching Zedekiel in the chest and hurling him across the field. He hit the ground hard, the impact splitting the earth beneath him.“DARETH, STOP THIS!” Eron’s voice thundered, shaking the air. His fury called the ground to life; dust spiraled around him as his weapon materialized—a sword of stone and crystal, its double-edged blade gleaming with emerald vines which twisted and pulsed. He pointed it toward Dareth, trembling. “Don’t make me fight you.”Dareth gazed at Eron like he was looking at child then threw his head back and laughed. The sound was jagged and hollow, like the laughter of someone who had long lost his sanity. “It hurts, doesn’t it?” he sneered, though his eyes glinted with cruel delight. “I realized long ago—the best way to make you suffer like I did… was to hurt your pathetic lover!”Zedekiel

Zedekiel’s fingers closed around Dareth’s throat like iron bands, choking the evil gods. With a roar, he drove his already bloody fist straight into Dareth’s face. The sickening sound of bone crunching rang through the air and blood sprayed, spattering across the god’s pale chest and Zedekiel's robes. But Dareth only laughed. It was a half-choked, half-mad horrifying sound, as if the multiple hits he had received, not only from Zedekiel but also Vathar, did him no harm. His dark eyes gleamed like fractured glass, wild with derangement, as if he was some animal that was super high on drugs. “Look at you,” he rasped between wheezing chuckles, “I just mentioned torturing that meddling husband of yours and you go ballistic! How do you think I felt when he brought Eron down here?!”“Shut up!” Zedekiel snarled, unwilling to entertain his nonsense. If he doesn't kill the bastard, he would go after Ron and the babies the second he could. He hoisted Dareth off the ground with one hand and hu

“Should I let Zedekiel know what's happening?” Princess Mariel asked her mum. The Queen Mother shook her head sharply. “No. Let him concentrate on the fight. The moment he learns Ron is in labour, he will abandon the battlefield. He cannot know.”Princess Mariel agreed. Only things concerning Ron could completely affect her big brother. She had seen it herself the day their evil uncle took over Netheridge. Zedekiel had been utterly broken and she had never seen such a side of him before. He was even ready to give up everything just to stay by Prince Ron's side. That was when she knew her big brother was truly in love with the human Prince. That was when she accepted that she lost. Prince Ron was the same as well. The little firecracker could get all possessive and protective when it came to Zedekiel. He could also prank others and make fun of them but when it came to Zedekiel, he was always so well behaved. She thought about it again and shook her head. Well, he was mostly well beh

‘As you know,’ she continued. ‘He used the spell to kill the Heavenly Emperor and take over heaven, becoming almost invincible.’Prince Ron immediately got the key word. ‘Almost. Meaning there is a way to destroy him.’Thalindra nodded weakly. ‘There is a way to reverse the spell. Right now, his power is unstable. The essences he has stolen are fighting one another, trying to be the dominant one in his body. He tried to merge them but failed and can only use three essences at a time. He needs the essence of the Dark Lord to stabilize them and you must stop that from happening.’‘What will happen to him if he doesn't stabilize them?’ Prince Ron asked. ‘Can't we just let the essences destroy him?’'You could,’ Thalindra answered. 'but you'll all perish with him. What do you think will happen to the world when a god explodes?’ Prince Ron sighed. The world was mostly likely going to explode as well. Meaning that they must reverse the spell. ‘Yes.’ Thalindra said. ‘and you have to be the

The war erupted in full force.Ludiciel, Elliot, Sariel, Tariel, the Ice Fairy Queen and Seraphiel all went head to head with the evil gods while the rest handles the Heavenly Enforcers and Shadows. The battlefield became a terrible orchestra. The wet rip of tearing flesh, the howls of pain, the dull crunches of bones, the sickening slick popping sound of limbs being yanked from sockets filled the air. Steel met steel in a ringing cadence, blades screamed as they scraped across armor, sparks spitting like struck stars. Phoenix fire bloomed and hissed as they devoured the Shadows, burning swaths of the inky tentacles to greasy vapor. The air stank of ozone, iron, ash, and the stinky fishy smell of blood and decay. Only the fight — raw and terrible, roared across the field. As soon as the war began, Prince Ron was grabbed by the Queen Mother and Princess Mariel. They took him to the far edge of the square, as far from the slaughter as distance would allow.“No — no, you have to take
