Agila's POV
"Welcome, Mi'lady," one of the palace guards says, bowing respectfully in front of me. "We have all been waiting for you."
My belly feels like a pit of fire as I notice the opulent carriages of the royal guests who have attended the wedding. I am not my sister, the bride of the triplet Alpha Kings. I stole her fancy gown and mask,
the only clothes that her mates, the mighty triplet Alpha Kings of Edlin, would recognize her in.I impersonated her to steal the mark of the Alpha Kings before they can mark her.
She has always been the Kingdom's beauty and charm, who would doubt that she is the fated mate of the powerful Alpha kings? Except me of course. Because I knew the truth, that she cast a spell to steal the mate bond from me.
I found forbidden texts containing dark incantations and a poppet made in my image in her room days after my eighteenth birthday. After reading the texts, I knew that she had cast a spell to steal my mates, I just didn't know who they were untill our Kingdom's trusted seers announced that the mate of the triplet Alpha Kings would be my sister, Irina.
Our parents didn't believe my claim that she had cast a spell to steal my mates as I am less beautiful, less graceful and even least admired. So I planned to claim my mates back. Because it is not the mate bond that matters, but who bears their mark.
I put a dose of sleeping powder in my sister's morning tea and that of our parents so that they would be asleep while I made my way here in her dress and mask.
I chose the rarest and most intoxicating of her perfumes to fake an attractive scent. None of the Alpha Kings, Parish, Alcott or Reid can have an idea of what my sister looks or smells like. They are yet to meet her. They sent the golden mask and the lovely dress to make sure that they would recognize her in the ceremony even before smelling her scent.
Since Irina has always had a good reputation, they have no doubt that she is fit to be their Queen.
It is rumoured that their dead mother was the moon goddess herself. So you can imagine the type of queen they desire. Their powerful bloodline cannot be watered down by a less than perfect mate, someone of the wrong bloodline. A curse would befall the land if they were to mate with someone evil.
Bloodlines are everything in our Kingdom. It is how the good maintains power over evil, by keeping their bloodline pure.
My family is one of the right bloodlines. But it is also believed that if fraternal twins are born, only one is benevolent and the other one is evil.
Due to Irina's beauty and impressive grace, she was assumed to be the good twin, while I was assumed to be the opposite. I have been regarded as evil just for being the lesser beautiful. It is the reason no one doubts that Irina is the mate of the Alpha Kings.
I wore enough makeup to adorn my ordinary face. Irina would definitely look more stunning, but the Alpha Kings deserves better than an evil, pretentious Princess.
The guards step aside after guiding me into the palace and down a wide hallway that leads to an open door where cheerful voices of guests can be heard.
I make my way in, into the wide hall full of royal and rich guests. The room falls silent as soon as my presence is noticed. Spoons fall back to plates and all eyes turn in my direction.
All fear and anxiety fades as soon as I catch sight of the gorgeous Kings at the far head of the room, their thrones set atop of a raised stage. They are a sight more ethereal than their imposing palace. And this is my chance to claim them back.
Agila's POV Ilan finally walks into the room in the company of a young, unfamiliar woman. She holds his hand like a new lover. His wounds have healed and he looks happy. "Your Majesties . . . this is Indria, my true mate. She is a good person and a -" "Witch?" Parish cuts him short. That is not what Ilan said his mate was. She lived with a family of witches and longed to come back to him. Both Ilan and his mate look astounded by the King's accusation. "How do we know that she is not another one of Ademon's spies?" Alcott asks. "She is not, your Majesties. I knew Andria for years before being banished from the caves. Her family were witches and warlocks, but she only stayed with them for company," Mason speaks in defense of Ilan's mate. The two lovers smile in appreciation. "She can stay if you're certain of her good intentions," Reid says. "Thank you, your Majesty," Ilan says, kisses his mate on the cheek before dismissing her. He then walks into the room and takes a seat b
Agila's POV The soldiers put the last special chain around Ademon's neck, blocking his dark powers. "Please tell me that he did not touch you. I will have him hanged in a cell by the balls for days if he did," Alcott asks as he too comes to hug me. "He only punched my nose today. Because Prince Ethan discovered that I had lied about the ritual and told him," I answer. His hands pull me to him and his tight embrace makes my muscles hurt. "You're the first woman to save Kings and a Kingdom. You have made a name for yourself already. I am literally envious," he whispers. "Glory was the last thing I thought about since that demon l took over this palace. The fact that you're alive is what matters," I say. "You're too good for this world, dear. No wonder our goddess favours you," he praises. She loves me so much that she gave me a spider instead of a wolf. What a joke? Anyway it was quite useful in saving them. I should be grateful even though I would have preferred a wolf. Ademon'
Agila's POV A deafening scream from outside the hall cuts through the air and makes everyone including Ademon jump. It wasn't the scream of any of my mates. So who was it and what hurt them? A running soldier suddenly bursts through the door and collapses to the floor only a few steps into the room. He writhes in extreme pain but there is no one hurting him. My mates' powers? I know that one of them is able to make someone feel pain while not being physically hurt. "What . . . happened to the soldiers? They brought no one back!" one of the warlocks asks. Some of the members of the crowd have stoop up to see the writhing soldier clearly. They too are trembling. They gasp out loud in shock when my three mates casually stride into the room, looking healthy and free of chains. Ademon stumbles back, looking horrified. The royals and servants try hiding their faces, hiding behind each other. Their guilt is evident"You . . . did this? You have them back the powers?" he points a finge
Alpha Alcott's POV "I feel more powerful than ever before. I think that our mate loves me the most. We can take back our thrones and Kingdom with my powers alone," I proudly announce. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but she loves us all the same. I feel quite strong myself," Reid says. I am both glad and disappointed at the same time. Anyway it's time to take back our home.We hear the sounds of footsteps approaching from afar. It must be the soldiers sent to get us for execution. Our mate's letter said that Ademon had made a decision to kill us today. She promised to try making him delay. I imagine that whatever her plan was, it already failed. Because otherwise the soldiers wouldn't be coming. Parish literally breaks the cell door instead of waiting for me to open it. "This is still our palace, stop damaging it," Reid reminds after stepping out. "Can you let us out too?" our mate's warlock friend calls from the other cell. He sounds extremely weak. They never got visits from the
Agila's POVHow does the Prince plan to help Ademon wear the crown without suffering a curse? Is he planning another lie to save his life? "Bring the idiot to my throne room. Carry with you a silver blade as well to cut off his head if his idea turns out to be nonsense," he orders the soldiers before returning his attention to me. "We have a lot of time left for the picnic. I will not let the Prince keep me. Wait only a few minutes," he swears. "I understand. I will come with you to hear the what lies the Prince has come up with," I reply He nods and I follow him back to the throne room of my mates that he now calls his. He welcomes me to sit on Alcott's throne. I gladly take the seat that still has the lulling smell of my mates. Prince Ethan is dragged in immediately after Ademon has settled in Parish's guilded seat once again. Ademon's warlocks and some curious royals enter the room behind the soldiers. The Prince appears shocked after noticing my presence. The soldiers force h
Agila's POV"Lord Ademon has agreed to see you, M'lady. Follow us," one of the soldiers now loyal to Ademon says, standing at the door. I sent the servant who brought my breakfast to the dark lord to ask for an audience with him on my behalf. If I can make him delay his planned execution of my mates by a day, they would have time to grow stronger. I plan to act like I am now on his side. That's the only way he will grant any of my requests. I put on a lovely, silk black dress and some jewelry just to convince him that I am embracing a new start. I stand from the edge of the bed and follow the soldiers. They lead me to what used to be the throne room of my mates. The wicked warlock sits on Parish's guilded seat, looking like a caveman who sneaked into a palace unnoticed. I bow in a fake show of respect to his presence for the first time. He stares with surprise in his eyes. "You look like you finally came to your senses, sweetheart. But I know better," he dismissively says. "You h
Agila's POV"She claims that the seers carried out a ritual to forbid me from taking the crown. That they have made sure that only the bastards who got my father's consent to wear the crown can do so," Ademon reports to his warlocks and witches. Their tired eyes reflect disappointment. "That is no
Agila's POV The cell is extremely cold. I would have stayed on my feet if they weren't aching and swollen from the kicks. I had to lay down and let the muscles of my back grow numb from the cold. I would be sleeping on a cushioned bed in my messy room if I did not come up with a silly plan to rec
Agila's POV The beta and his guards drag me to a secluded hallway where he finally halts, still holding my hair tight. "My mother was murdered by witches. Evil things like you that stink of wickedness!" he hisses before his other hand lands a heavy slap on the side of my face that makes my skin fe
ANGILA'S POV "You have no prove of that, honey," our Mother reminds her favoured daughter. Of course it's not me she is worried about, but Irina's good repute. I bet she wouldn't mind if I got burned alive for something I am not. The Alpha Kings are not nearly as reasonable as I thought."Yes I h
