She has always been the Kingdom's beauty and charm, who would doubt that she is the fated mate of the powerful, charismatic triplet Alpha kings? Except me of course. Because I know the truth, that she cast a spell to steal the mate bond from me.
I found forbidden texts containing dark incantations, a poppet made in my image and smelly concoctions in her room days after my eighteenth birthday. After reading the texts I knew that she had cast a spell to steal my mate, I just didn't know who it was until days ago when the trusted seers of our Kingdom stated that the mate of the mighty Alpha Kings would be my stunning sister, Irina. Our parents didn't believe my claim as I didn't get my wolf either.
The Alpha Kings had waited for their special mate for years and not even the Kingdom's powerful seers could tell who she might be. I secretly hoped that it would be me, the hated princess finally getting her first blessing. But the seers announced that the fated mate of the Alpha Kings is my sister days after she cast the spell.
The Alpha Kings are everything I ever dreamed of. So today I will claim them back. Because it is not the mate bond that matters, but who bears their mark.
I choose the rarest and most intoxicating of her perfumes to fake an attractive scent. None of the Alpha Kings, Parish, Alcott or Reid can have an idea of what my sister smells like. They have never met. They sent the golden mask and the lovely dress to make sure that they would recognize her in the ceremony even before smelling her scent.
The outfit came with an invitation to their wedding ceremony. Since Irina has always had a good reputation and impeccable grace, they have no doubt that she is fit to be their Queen.
It is rumoured that their dead mother was the moon goddess herself. So you can imagine the type of queen they desire. Their powerful bloodline cannot be watered down by a less than perfect mate, someone of the wrong bloodline. A curse would befall the land if they were to mate with someone evil.
Bloodlines are everything in our Kingdom. It is how the good maintains power over evil, by keeping their bloodline pure.
My family is one of the right bloodlines. But it is also believed that if fraternal twins are born, only one is benevolent and the other one is evil.
Due to Irina's beauty and impressive grace, she was assumed to be the good twin, while I was assumed to be the opposite. I was regarded as evil just for being the lesser beautiful. Then my failure to phase confirmed their suspicions. Even the moon goddess wouldn't bless me with a wolf. It is another reason no one doubts that Irina is the mate of the triplet Alpha Kings.
Her marriage to them will be in the magnificent halls of the great palace, and all of the Kingdom's nobles and rich men will be in attendance.
I put a tiny dose of sleeping powder in her morning tea and that of our parents. They will be asleep while I make my way to the great palace and and marry the Alpha Kings. Because finally I have learned to claim what is mine. I after all love the Alpha triplet more than the woman who stole our mate bond.
A guilded royal carriage waits outside, to take my sister to the palace. I take one last glance at my reflection in the mirror and feel satisfied with my pretty appearance. I wore enough makeup to adorn my ordinary face. Irina would definitely look more stunning, but the Alpha Kings deserves better than an evil, pretentious Princess.
I slip on her white shoes and make my way out of her lovely room full of all the stuff I have only dreamed of possessing one day. I check and make sure that her maids are nowhere around the hallway before striding out of the house.
Every step feels like a test as Irina is well known for her grace. I put on a bright smile upon reaching the carriage.
The servants and guards of the Alpha Kings bow their heads slightly in respect. Their smiles are kind, something I have never been granted in my entire life.
"My family will be a little late for the ceremony as our maid fell sick. We must go without them as I do not intend to keep our great Kings waiting," I say.
My voice is smooth, I hope.
"Indeed Mi'lady. We will be arriving at the palace in no time," one of the guards agrees, holding the carriage's door open for me.
One of the servants helps hold the flowing laces of my dress as I get into the carriage, settling on the sleek, soft cushions of the seat inside. Every inch of space is a testament of the flowing wealth of the Alpha Kings.
"You're even more beautiful than the rumors claim. I will be most honoured to be your personal maid," one of the servants say with an excited smile as the two settle in the opposite seat.
My heart is beating fast. I must not say something awkward. And my face must not reflect my nervousness. I keep smiling.
"Thank you, dear. You're incredibly kind," I say.
The servants glance at each other. Did I say something that Irina wouldn't? My heart pounds harder.
"Sounds like your beauty is even more profound on the inside, Mi'lady. The witches must envy you the most. But worry not, the Alpha Kings will protect you like a treasure," the other says.
The dark witches are the queens of all evil. They desire the destruction of this prosperous kingdom. They are the reason the Alpha Kings must only mate with their true, fated mate, otherwise their devine bloodline will be infiltrated by the evil.
Once they have marked me as their Queen, I will help them destroy the witches. I will be a useful queen, unlike my beautiful sister who would just warm their bed.
"I have no doubt they will protect me. They are the most powerful of beings," I reply the way I think Irina would.
I am relieved when the servants smile and fall quiet. The carriage comes to a halt after a long while and one of the guards open the door for us.
My stomach churns as I rise from my seat. Are we at the palace already? I am losing control of my nerves and my hands are starting to shake.
I breathe in deep before taking the guards extended hand. The sheer opulence of the place steal my breath as soon as I step outside the carriage.
There are almost a hundred more guilded carriages on the sides of the concrete path. The sweeping palace, carved from luminous white stone, stands in front of us like a fallen piece of heaven. It's architecture, ornate arches, towering spirals and grand golden domes that reflect the light of the morning sun, is simply out of this world.
I might have gaped at it too long and ungracefully as I hear one of the servants clear her throat to snap me out of my stupor.
When I dreamed of being the mate of the Angel Kings, it never crossed my mind that their wealth is beyond measure. Once they have marked me, I will be the luckiest woman alive.
"Welcome, Mi'lady. The Kings must be waiting in the grand hall. Come with me," one of the guards say.
There are a few guests standing in groups outside the palace, their eyes glued on me. I quickly correct my posture, holding my head high.
I do my best to keep my back straight as I follow the guards with measured steps towards the front entrance. The two servants hold the flowing laces of my dress as we walk in and find more groups of idle guests standing around the magnificent front porch. My heart is pounding harder than ever, but I manage to forge a smile for their curious eyes. What can go wrong? No one can see through the mask and tell that I am not my sister.
The guards step aside after guiding me down a wide hallway and towards an open door where cheerful voices of happy guests can be heard.
The servants let go of the laces of my dress and gesture at me to make my way in.
My legs are shaky beneath the skirts. I still make my way forward, into the wide hall full of royal and rich guests, the servants following behind. The room falls silent as soon as my presence is noticed. Spoons fall back to plates and all eyes turn in my direction.
My belly feels like a pit of fire. But all fear and anxiety fades as soon as I catch sight of the gorgeous Kings at the far head of the room, their thrones set atop of the raised stage. They are a sight more ethereal than their imposing palace. And this is my chance to claim them back.
ANGILA'S POV "You have no prove of that, honey," our Mother reminds her favoured daughter. Of course it's not me she is worried about, but Irina's good repute. I bet she wouldn't mind if I got burned alive for something I am not. The Alpha Kings are not nearly as reasonable as I thought."Yes I have prove! How else do you think she acquired my scent to fool my mates?" Irina roars.I stole her rare perfume, not her real scent. Why would she even claim it's her scent? If she has a mate bond with the Angel kings, she wouldn't need to wear a perfume to smell enchanting to them. Her real scent wouldn't be inside a bottle unless she were a witch herself. The witch that stole my mate bond with them. But I am the one that the glares are turning towards. Those that have always loathed me seeing the opportunity to destroy me. I will be given a chance to defend myself, right?"You must be the most courageous and stupidest witch to ever walk through the gates of our palace. How long did you thi
Agila's POVAmong the guests, are people I have no doubt know my sister well. She is the most famed of all Princesses. They might remember her entrancing walk, her perfect poise. My legs are stiff as I try to reflect her grace. My chest is heaving ungraciously, stretching the tight fabric of Irina's lovely dress. I hope the seams are strong enough to hold until the end of the ceremony. I make it to the end of the aisle without hearing anyone question my identity. One of the Alpha Kings rises, steps forward and offers me a hand as I climb the few steps to join them on the raised stage.I never thought a living person could look so breathtaking. His tall, mascular frame is a test for a woman's eyes, especially when it is wrapped in the most flawless of skins. His grey eyes seem to glow with their own light, and their intense gaze makes the nerves under my skin sensitive to thin air.I hold his hand tighter than necessary, because my mind stopped thinking. I wonder how better things wo
