"Whatever you do, make sure you don't miss Christmas with me." She brushed her thumb over his beautiful lips while staring deep into his blue-green eyes.
She feels so weak and helpless.
"I won't." He kissed her thumb.
"Come back soon." She whispered, her voice threatening to break.
"I will."
She dropped her thumb, tightened their entwined hands, and leaned into him, resting her head against his arm.
Sooner or later, she'd have to say goodbye and she's not ready for that.
