Chapter 2

Author: PP
Felix and I had been childhood sweethearts.

His father was the previous Alpha of the Blackrock pack while my father was the Beta. His father had also handpicked me to be Felix's Luna. Our union had been determined from the moment I was born.

Felix and I grew up together. We raced each other through the forest under the moonlight and manifested our wolves together when we turned 18.

I could still recall with crystal-clear clarity the feelings that had coursed through me when I smelled his chilling scent for the first time. It was proof that a wolf had found their fated mate.

Our mating ritual was a grand affair. With the pack watching us, Felix sank his teeth into my nape and marked me.

I wholly dedicated myself to helping him secure the position of the Alpha of the Blackrock pack.

Felix once promised that he would give me happiness and security for the rest of my life.

I couldn't deny that the time we had spent together was sweet, especially when we welcomed our pup, Ryan, into our lives.

Ryan had Felix's golden eyes. His little fangs would poke past his lips whenever he smiled.

I thought that our happy days would continue forever.

However, when Ryan was three years old, a crisis occurred within the pack.

A group of Rogues invaded the pack and abducted Ryan and a she-wolf, Faith Chambers.

I still remembered how Ryan had struggled wildly to free himself from his abductor's grasp as I helplessly watched from across the crowd.

The rescue plan that we came up with had been flawless. However, it fell apart when Faith screamed in fear during a critical moment. As a result, we missed the best window to save Ryan because we had to save Faith first.

In the end, Faith only suffered minor scratches while Ryan fell into a coma because of his severe injuries.

I kept vigil by Ryan's bedside, praying over and over again as I held his small, cold hand.

Meanwhile, Faith kneeled in front of Ryan's ward every day.

"I'm sorry, Luna. It's all my fault. If it hadn't been for me…"

At first, Felix refused to let her near us and would furiously chase her away.

"Stop it, Felix. She didn't do it on purpose," I said.

Although I cursed the gods' injustice, I wasn't willing to pin the blame on any one wolf. Besides, Faith had just come of age.

While I was dedicating all my time to taking care of Ryan, Felix's attitude toward Faith began to soften.

One day, the healer forcefully sent me home after I nearly fainted when I was caring for Ryan. I heard the sounds of heavy breathing when I opened the bedroom door.

Felix had Faith pinned beneath him. Her usually tear-streaked face was unnaturally red.

My heart felt as if it was being stabbed by blades as I watched them writhe against each other.

In a fit of madness, I transformed into a wolf. However, Felix grabbed my wrist before I could strike them. He shielded Faith behind him and shouted, "Calm down, Wendy!"

Faith poked her head out from behind him and timidly mumbled, "I'm sorry, Luna. I didn't mean for things to end up like this. Felix kept comforting me because he saw how upset I was. We couldn't control ourselves."

I knocked Felix's hand away. At that moment, the only thing on my mind was the overwhelming urge to tear that repulsive she-wolf apart.

Felix pinned me down and roared, "That's enough, Wendy! Do you have any idea what you look like right now? You've only been paying attention to Ryan as of late. You don't care about me at all. I'm your mate, but I also have my needs. I needed my Luna, but you only care about an unconscious pup!"

My breath hitched as I stared at Felix with wide eyes.

"So, that's why you slept with her?"

A pained expression crossed Felix's face when he saw the anguished look in my eyes.

"I just needed an outlet for my desires."

Faith trembled upon hearing Felix's words, prompting him to hurry over to her to run a soothing hand down her back.

"You can leave for now. I'll handle the rest."

Felix sent Faith away before I could react. When he returned, he was wearing an impatient expression.

"Things have already come to this point, Wendy. It won't do anyone any good if you make the situation worse. Ryan still needs the best healers in the pack, and he'll also need a complete family in the future. Am I right?"

Felix was exploiting my weakness. He knew that no mother would hurt her own pup for her own gain.

He walked over to me and pulled me into his arms, murmuring, "I know you're upset, Wendy. I was wrong. I promise that this will be the last time. As long as you start paying attention to me again, I won't look for anyone else."

I closed my eyes. My body remained as stiff as a statue as he hugged me.

Unfortunately, Felix and Faith only grew bolder in the face of my tolerance.

"The pup with the type-O blood that you conducted the paternity test on was someone I found at the orphanage," I explained."I laid a trap in the Blackrock pack's medical center a long time ago. The moment Faith gave birth to your pup, I switched him out for someone else."Felix's stiff body began twitching slightly when he heard what I said.I lifted my hand and pointed at the pup with the pallid complexion in Faith's arms."Do you see him?" I asked. "He's your flesh and blood. The pups in the orphanage are so pitiful because they've lost their parents. I couldn't bear to let him suffer because of Faith's actions, so I switched the pups again and let him return to his mother's side."Faith let out a crazed scream upon hearing my words. Meanwhile, the pup in her arms remained unresponsive and continued staring blankly into space."Look at your son, Felix. He should have been the successor of the Blackrock pack, but he'll die in this place because of you.""You… evil… witch… Wend

Under my leadership, the Blackrock pack operated as normal. It was almost as if Felix had never been the Alpha of the pack. However, I wasn't satisfied yet.I dug up all of Felix's misconducts during his time as Alpha in my free time. I then compiled everything and released it to the public. As a result, not only did the wolves of the Blackrock pack shun Felix, but the wolves from the other packs began to view him with contempt as well.Felix was no longer the Alpha that everyone feared and revered. He had been reduced to a helpless wolf, who could only get around in a wheelchair and make unintelligible sounds.I leaned down and gently wiped the drool from the corners of Felix's mouth as I listened to the wolves converse with each other, saying, "Calm down, Felix."My movements were light and gentle. Anyone who saw us would think that I was simply doting on my crippled mate.Only Felix was close enough to see the absolute joy on my face.I straightened up and sighed before sayi

I didn't kill Felix.Death was too merciful for him.As the wolfbane's poison rapidly coursed through his veins, his struggles gradually became weaker. In the end, Felix lay completely still on the floor. Only his eyes, full of fear and pleading, continued to frantically dart around. It was perfect. This was the state that I wanted Felix to be in—trapped within his shell of a body while remaining completely lucid. That way, he would be faced with his own hopelessness for the rest of his days.I stood up and opened the door, shouting, "Help! Something happened to Felix!"Lucas was the first to rush into the room with a few guards trailing behind him. They were stunned when they saw Felix lying immobile on the floor and the blackened blood around him.Lucas turned to look at me, pinning me with a suspicious, questioning stare."What happened here, Luna?"Tears streamed down my face as my body shook violently."He told me that he planned Ryan's death."I threw myself next to F

I looked at Felix's hand before I slowly raised my own hand and placed it on his upturned palm.Tears welled up in my eyes, spilling down my cheeks and dripping onto our clasped hands."I…"I started crying before I could get another word out, acting as if I was finally expressing all the pain and frustration that I had kept bottled up.Felix pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly. My heart felt incredibly hollow even as I burrowed my face into his chest.…That night, Felix restored my position as the Luna of the Blackrock pack in front of all the other wolves. After the ceremony was over, he eagerly led me back to the Alpha and Luna's exclusive bedroom. The scent of Faith's perfume still lingered in the air.Felix hugged me from behind and murmured, "We can get rid of the smell if you don't like it. Change it to something that you prefer."Disgust roiled in my stomach when I felt his breath fan against the back of my ear. I felt like throwing up.Felix remained obl

"Stop it, Felix. Perhaps Faith had her reasons for doing what she did," I said softly as I took a step forward.Felix let go of Faith and transformed back into his human form. However, the air around him was still extremely intimidating.Of course, my plan wasn't to help Faith.Felix was a naturally suspicious person. He only lost his temper at that moment because his emotions had reached a breaking point.I had my own reasons for wanting him to conduct a proper investigation. Firstly, I wanted to clear my own name. Secondly, I wanted Felix to find out that Faith had framed me for poisoning her a year ago."Get to the bottom of this," Felix ordered. He then left the hall with the Beta of the Blackrock pack, Lucas Tillbury.Faith looked more relaxed despite how her body was swaying from side to side. The pup was definitely Felix's, so she would get a chance to turn the situation around once the investigation was over. When she noticed that I was looking at her, she stuck her nos

Felix's expression turned steely. As the wolves below the stage recovered from their shock, they began whispering among each other. It didn't take long before a wave of unbridled anger swept through the hall."Silence!" Felix roared, cutting the ceremony short. He handed his crying pup to a wolf who was standing nearby before he stormed off the stage."What have you done?" he hissed as he grabbed Faith's arm, his eyes darkening.Faith had been stunned speechless when the clip of her was shown on the screen. Her legs felt like they had turned to jelly. Her voice trembled when she stammered, "I-It wasn't me!""The video couldn't be any clearer!" Felix retorted.Faith suddenly pointed at me and shrieked, "It was Wendy! She's framing me!"She lunged at me. Her usually pure and innocent face was twisted into a hideous expression. "You bitch! You planned this!"I ignored her hysterical screams and looked at Felix with teary eyes. "Was she telling the truth?" I asked softly as I too
