Ch 19 : Regardless

[Sunday at the German – Belgian Border.]

Ben ran while holding little Rena. Their feet were shuffling, and their ears could still hear the faint sound and bark of the hunting dogs.

Rena's pale white hands kept sweating, not understanding what had happened to her family. All she heard was the screams of her father and mother telling them to run and save themselves.

Blinking her eyes, she saw her brother still holding back tears. The man's face was ashen.

"Ben," Rena called, hobbled. She wanted a little rest. Her legs were no longer strong enough even to walk.

She heard Ben's hand tighten the grip while shaking her head vigorously.

"Please, Rena, hang on!" That's all Ben said to Rena. Feet that are not even wearing a pedestal occasionally get scratched by twigs and shoulders.

Rena fell, causing her body to be dragged by Ben. While Ben groaned in frustration, he didn't want to turn into a wolf. It could be even more dangerous. His family had been drinking potions to disguise the sm
