Chapter 10. Awkward conversations.

I woke up with a severe headache. What the hell happened? I open my eyes slowly and see a very familiar face staring at me just a couple of inches from my face.

I try to speak, but he cuts me off. “Never involve me in something like that again. You heard me? I almost lost my job and my license.”

I sigh and say, “before I answer your question, tell me. What the hell happened?”

Johnson scratches his head in exasperation and says, “When you idiotically thought of hitting yourself in the head with that gun, you hit an aneurysm."

"Yes, surprise. You had an aneurysm. With the hit, it exploded, and your brain was bleeding. You told me it was just blows to the body and that you wouldn’t need anything serious and since I’m a complete idiot, I believed you. You almost died, you understand, right?”
