Today is Alana, my daughter's birthday and I’m so excited about what the day has to bring. My beautiful sweetheart will be turning eight this year and as the perfectionist that I was, everything had to be in order.

I was standing at the great and grand pack hall that was going to be used for this joyous ceremony and my maid, Brielle, was standing by my side watching me while I worked.

“Brielle can you hand over that balloon? And I thought I asked for blue and purple color? Why am I seeing red?” I questioned my maid authoritatively.

“Oh I’m sorry ma’am,” Brielle said and kept her face down.

“Why are you keeping your face down? Hurry up and go change these things. This is not a toddler slumber party, this is an eight birthday. I want everything to be perfect,” I said as I handed back the pink balloons to her and asked for other ones.

“Yes ma’am I’m doing that instantly. Please hold on,” she said and rushed to the door.

Immediately after Brielle left my sweetheart came into the room from the door. She just woke up from sleep.

“Good morning mommy,” Alana my daughter greeted me and came forward to me for a hug.

She looked rough. Her eyes were still swollen and her hair was distorted. Oh! This child. Had she not warned her not to come down stairs if she was not organized enough. She had to understand that she was no more a little girl and she must start acting like a growing lady.

“Alana! You are still in your nightwear,” I said as I returned the hug and grumpily freed myself from her sharply after.

“Mom, come on! I’m at home! You don’t expect me to always be dressed like a princess,” Alana retorted.

“Yes you are a princess and you must never be caught slipping. Anyways, did you see your father when you were coming down from the hallway?” I asked my daughter desperately.

Lately he has been cold to me. We slept on the same bed for weeks and he wouldn’t want to touch me. Anytime I tried to touch him he would say he was tired.

He always came back late and claimed it was meetings at work keeping him and when he was at home, he would say he wanted to patrol around the area with his beta because he smelt some vampires around.

Anyways today will be his daughter’s eighteenth birthday and there was no way he would miss it. Not even for the world. She was daddy’s princess and only child.

I did not care if he had any kind of feelings towards me, I dismissed it as him being too loaded with work and having pressure put on him recently.

“No mom, I have not seen him around here. I waited for my yearly early morning birthday surprise from him and I could not find it,” Alana answered me with a gleam of sadness in her eyes.

I did not want to disappoint her so I changed the topic.

“Oh my baby is a year older today. You know, you’ll always be my little girl. I love you more than life itself.”

Tears were streaming from my eyes.

“Aww thanks mom I love you too, forever,” Alana said as she pecked me in the cheek.

“Alana dear, we are an hour from the party. Let me supervise the maids in the kitchen.”

Alana left to go to her room and I walked to the kitchen.

The party had started and my daughter's friends were here and everything was set. I was dressed up looking very cute and I went to greet other alphas that came from other packs. Something was missing. What could it be? It was my alpha. He was supposed to be here.

The party had progressed for three hours. I ignored him coming late because I thought he would make a grand entrance here and Alana had started to be disappointed. Angry, I barged out of the hall to call him.

“Pick up, Ethan. What is the problem? Pick up,” I said as I called him. After the tenth missed call I went to the office to see what was happening for my eyes.

When I reached the office, the place was quiet and dark and I heard someone laughing.

‘I thought Ethan said he was with his beta?’ I thought to myself.

I kept walking to the office and I heard the moans of a lady. They both looked like they almost reached ecstasy.

What? No! My ears were certainly deceiving me. Was that a woman? Riding on my alpha? I never saw this coming. My brain began to shake.

‘I stood at the door and I heard a female voice. It was Jasmine, my sister. Moon goddess! What could this be?!’ I talked to myself and said with my voice trembling because this was a surprise.

I could not hold it anymore and I barged the door open.

‘curse myself for not being able to pin the pieces together,’ I thought as I looked at them.

“Moon goddess what in the hell!” I screamed and sharply my sister Jasmine stood up from on top of Ethan and fell on the floor as she tried to run to one corner.

Jasmine stood up and hastily wore her clothes and tried to apologize to me.

“I’m so sorry sis, please don’t be__”

“Hold it there, you evil witch!” I said as I yelled at her and looked in disdain at Ethan that did not even try to cover himself.

I walked closer to her and looked at her neck. It was the necklace Ethan bought for me that I carefully tucked away. So he took it and gave it to this *****.

“This *****! So you’re with my necklace. No wonder. Right from when we were kids you always wanted what I had. From that plushy gift mom and dad got for me and now marriage. You first refused this guy because he was not an alpha now look!”

Suddenly Jasmine faked a fall to the ground.

“Arrh! My belly.”

Ethan nakedly stood up, pushed me and walked to her and touched her and asked me to apologize.

“Apologize now or it’s over!” Ethan threatened.

“Never!” I said

“Or what?”

“I will punish you because she’s pregnant!”

“What!” I was shocked to my bones. I had seen the signs but ignored it.

I wanted to ask why he never tried for another child with me but when he looked at me and swore, I realized it was over.

I wanted to scream again when I heard Alana’s footsteps and calls.

“Mommy! Where are you?”

I didn’t want Alana to see this mess so I tried to negotiate. “It’s okay Ethan. You can come home and we will talk about this. Today is your daughter's party. She deserves this honor. Please dress up and come.”

His face softened a bit for a while and then hardened back when he heard me talk about Alana and then looked back at Jasmine and then at me.

“Making you my Luna was the biggest mistake I had ever made,” Ethan declared.
