2. He Ashamed Me In Front Of Everyone

“Alana dear, please hold on! I’m coming, I’m trying to settle some issues with the elders,” I said to my daughter as I lied so that she would not come any closer.

“What did you just say Ethan? Are you out of your mind?”

Ethan had started to wear his clothes and he was turning his back at me. I had to go to him and turn him around so that he would see me as I was talking.

“So you want to do this to me now huh? This is how you want to treat me after years of sacrificing and breaking my back for you. I have drank poison because of you. I protected you by drinking that wine so that we could identify if there was poison or not. I laid down my life for you.”

“I did not ask you to,” Ethan fired.

“Wow. Ungrateful much? I have been stabbed by assassins because of you. How many times have I put my life on the line for you,” I asked as tears were coming down my face?

“Your years of being Luna in my palace and enjoying being catered for my servants and being honored are your repayment for your services, thank you ma’am,” Ethan told me.

I hoped Alana went back to her party.

“Give it up sister, how do we know you are not the one that poisoned the wine and arranged the assassins by yourself,” Jasmine shamelessly said to me.

I was surprised and stunned by Ethan’s coldness and Jasmine's new found confidence.

“Wow you’re such a shameless person you know, Jasmine. I always knew you could take my life if you had the opportunity to.”

I looked at Jasmine and this time she was sitting comfortably on Ethan’s lap, sneering at me. She was such a shameless person I could not believe this was my sister that I housed, trusted and fed.

They always said even if a snake shed its skin, it will still be replaced by the old snake skin. How could I not see?

“At least I did not love you when you needed basic things. I loved you when you were still a boy and there was no hope for you to be an alpha. Now today after the wealth, you are back to the same person that rejected you. Wow!”

“I helped you and made you grow into this current position. You forget your uncle wanted to be the alpha but I gave you tips on how to fight him away and now today see,” I could not cry anymore. My heart was beginning to harden.

Ethan got angry and slapped me very hard on the cheeks.

“Arrh!” I screamed. My face was already red and his palm made marks on my face. Jasmine gave an evil smile and she looked at Ethan with happiness.

“Stop reminding me of the past you dimwit! You should even be happy that I stayed with you and your disability,” he sneered at me.

Just as I screamed and wailed on the floor, Alana walked in to see me and covered her mouth in shock. This was what I wanted to avoid!

“Dad, what is happening? Why is mom on the floor?”

“Your mother is misbehaving,” Ethan coldly answered without even wishing her a happy birthday.

“Is this how you treat your Luna? I grew up to see both of you struggling and now see you are slapping her. You know domestic violence is against the law.”

I was ashamed. I buried my head further and tried to clean my tears so that she would not see me. How did I put myself into this mess? This was the height of disgrace and in front of my own child. I just thank God she did not come in here they both were butt naked.

“And why is aunt Jasmine on your lap?”

“No she mistakenly sat there, please get up Jasmine.”

My heart became very softened and I cleaned up my tears to talk to my child. Ethan immediately asks Jasmine to stand up and starts to walk close to Alana but she walks back.

“Damn it child. Curse you and your mother,” Ethan said and he walked back and held Jasmine on the waist.

It now became clear to Alana what was happening and she opened her mouth wide and stared at me in shock. Then she proceeded to close it with her mouth and look at Jasmine.

“Alana, dear happy birthday, I was going to come to the hall,” Jasmine said and faked to care.

Alana looked at Jasmine with a very stern look and hissed then she looked at her father. I could see disgust written all over her face. It was as if she was not proud of her family at this moment. I could not blame her. Who would be proud of such?

“Please don’t talk to me. Why is my mom in spins and you’re on my fathers laps?”

Jasmine clutched her chest together with her arms and said, “see small Alana. Now she does not want to talk to me anymore.”

“For this rubbish I’ll lock you up for three days. How dare you talk to Jasmine that way? Guards!”

I stood up and ram to hold my daughter and I saw how she looked at her father with disappointment but did not cry. She was hurt.

“Today is her birthday. How could you be so heartless and you know she is sick, we are still treating her,” I tried to beg for mercy.

“I blame you for not training your child well. Is that how she should talk to elders? Especially her family members?” Ethan blamed me.

I looked up at Jasmine's face and it was filled with laughter.

“May I suggest that both of them should get locked up together so that they can continue that mother daughter love there? At least that way she can keep treating her illness,” Jasmine sharply added.

“Your wish is my command, my love. I always knew you were a considerate person,” Ethan said and thanked her for her kindness and kissed her.

So he called her my love. The guards came and held me and my daughter and he walked out with my sister Jasmine.
