As she stepped out of the elevator on the top floor of the sleek, modern building, a warm smile spread across her face.

Rachel had been planning this surprise for weeks, and she couldn't wait to see the look on her husband's face when she walked into his office.

She made her way to the reception desk, where a polished young woman with a professional smile looked up from her computer.

"Can I help you?" she asked.

"I'm here to see my husband," Rachel replied, her confidence unwavering. "He's the CEO." She continued with the last words.

The receptionist's smile faltered for a moment, and she looked at Rachel with a mixture of curiosity and caution but she quickly came back to her senses and said,

"I'm afraid there's been some... confusion," she said slowly. "The CEO's wife is... someone else from what I have seen”.

Rachel's smile froze on her face. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The receptionist's eyes darted around the room, as if searching for an escape route or a way to deflect the conversation. "I... uh... I think you should speak with the CEO's assistant," she stammered, her voice trembling slightly. "She will be able to... clarify things for you." She said, after regretting why she said that earlier.

She knew it was not her right to tell her about this, that was why she was trying to free the talk.

Rachel's mind was racing. What was going on? Who was this other woman? She felt a wave of nausea wash over her as she tried to process the receptionist's words.

"I don't understand," Rachel said, her voice shaking. "I'm his wife. We have been married for six months."

The receptionist's expression was sympathetic, but also guarded. "I'm sorry, Mrs... um...?"

"Rachel," she supplied, her eyes never leaving the receptionist's face.

"Mrs Rachel, I really think you should speak with the CEO's assistant," the receptionist repeated, her voice firm but gentle. "She will be able to explain everything to you."

Rachel nodded numbly, feeling like she was in a dream. She followed the receptionist to the assistant's office, her heart pounding in her chest.

The assistant who was working, looked up from her computer as a knock on the door interrupted her work. "Come in," she said, her fingers pausing over the keyboard.

The receptionist entered with an apologetic smile, accompanied by Rachel, who seemed lost in thought. "I'm sorry to disturb you, ma'am," the receptionist said softly.

The assistant nodded graciously, her eyes narrowing slightly as she took in Rachel's distant expression.

The receptionist's gentle touch on Rachel's arm seemed to bring her back to reality.

"Ma'am, this is the CEO's assistant," the receptionist explained, her voice low.

Rachel's smile was strained as she turned to the assistant.

Meanwhile, the receptionist bowed her head and excused herself, leaving the two women alone in the office.

Emily, the assistant, leaned forward in her chair, gesturing to the seat in front of her desk. "Please, have a seat," she said.

Rachel sat down, her eyes fixed on Emily's face. Her heart was racing, and her mind was filled with questions. What was going on? She wanted to ask, but she held herself back.

"Miss Rachel, how may I help you?" Emily asked, her eyes scrutinizing Rachel's face. Rachel looked lost and vulnerable.

"I came to see my husband," Rachel said, her voice choking with emotion.

Emily raised an eyebrow and said . "If you came to see your husband, then what are you doing in my office?" She leaned back in her chair, her eyes narrowing slightly as she twirled a pen in her hand.

Rachel took a deep breath and replied to her. "I came to look for Matthew Smith."

As soon as the words left Rachel's lips, Emily's expression changed. She looked shocked, her eyes wide with surprise. "You want to tell me that the CEO is your husband?" Emily asked sharply.

Rachel nodded slowly, her fist clenched in her lap. Emily's expression turned cold, as her eyes flashed with anger.

"Do I look like a joke to you?" Emily snapped. "How dare you lie to me? Don't you know that the CEO has one wife, and that's Mrs. Linda Smith?"

Rachel’s eyes widened in shock, her face pale as she struggled to process Emily's words. She felt like she had been punched in the gut, as her breath knocked out of her. She tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat.

Emily's expression was cold, her eyes flashing with anger. "I don't know what kind of game you are playing, but I assure you, Mrs. Linda Smith is the CEO's wife. They have been married for over three years."

Rachel's mind was reeling. Three years? That was impossible. She and Matthew had been married for six months.

She felt a wave of nausea wash over her, and she thought she might pass out. She gripped the armrests of the chair tightly, trying to hold on to reality.

"Where is he?" Rachel demanded, her voice shaking with anger and fear. "I want to see him. I want to know what's going on."

Emily's expression didn't change, but Rachel saw a flicker of uncertainty in her eyes.

Meanwhile, Rachel's patience had worn thin. She stood up abruptly from the chair, as her eyes locked on Emily's unyielding expression.

Without a word, she turned and rushed out of the office, leaving Emily behind.

As she stepped out into the hallway, Rachel was met with a flurry of curious glances from the office staff. She ignored them, her mind focused on finding the truth. With a sense of determination, she quickly explored the unfamiliar hallways, her eyes scanning the door signs until she found the one she was looking for “the CEO's office”.

Rachel's heart was racing as she stood outside the door. She didn't bother to knock, her intuition telling her that she had finally found what she was looking for. With a deep breath, she pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The scene before her was one she would never forget. Her husband, Matthew, was sitting in his office chair, with another woman perched on his lap. They were kissing passionately, completely oblivious to Rachel's presence.

Rachel's eyes widened in shock, her mind struggling to process what she was seeing. She felt like she had been punched in the gut, her breath knocked out of her. She stood there, frozen in horror, as the reality of the situation sunk in.

Freda facepalmed herself in frustration and let out a long sigh. She looked at Hilary seriously and said, “I know Rapheal is your son, because he just is.” After saying this, she looked at him and waited for his reaction, but Hilary, who was not aware of what she meant, just raised an eyebrow and said. “Very good,” he replied with a sarcastic smirk, watching her closely.Freda frowned her face and asked him. “Why are you staring at me like that?”“I’m listening,” Hilary said calmly, but his eyes were sharp. “What happened to his real father? Is that guy trying to come back into your life or something? I haven’t seen him. Do you have a photo of him? I should know what he looks like in case I run into him.”He fired off the questions quickly, barely giving her time to answer. Freda stared at him, confused and overwhelmed by the sudden interrogation. Her head started spinning. When she didn’t respond, Hilary leaned forward and said. “Well?”Freda glared at him and muttered softly, “Dumm

Freda, who was done unbuckling her seatbelt reached for the door, but paused and said. “You two go ahead,” she said. “I will wait here.”“You sure?” Hilary asked her.She nodded her head and gave a small smile. “Yeah. Just get the takeaway. I’m fine.” “You don’t need to be worried”. As Rachel and Harris were enjoying their sleep peacefully, things were not going well with Hilary and Freda.Three hours earlier, after finishing with work, Hilary drove to Freda’s studio to pick up Freda and Rapheal who were waiting for him.As soon as they got inside the car, Freda gave a small smile and suggested, “Babe, we should drop Rapheal at Mum’s place.”Hilary looked at her with a surprised look. He knew how close Freda was to her son and how worried she was when Rapheal stayed with his family last time.“What is it, babe? Are you okay?” he asked. He was supposed to be happy about the idea. It meant they would be alone at home, just the two of them. But the look on her face didn’t match the good news. Instead, she looked distant, maybe even sad, which made him worried. When she didn’t answer, Hilary sighed and said, “Alright babe, but we need to get Rapheal’s stuff at home first, so I will drive there first.”“There’s no need for that,” Freda replied to him, showing him the
