Chapter 108

A few days later.

At a small airport in Eastern Europe, Qiara stood with her hands lightly cuffed behind her long coat. Two large men stood on either side of her, while a female officer checked her documents once more.

“You will be transferred to East Africa,” the officer said flatly. “The location has been determined.”

Qiara stared sharply. “I didn’t commit a crime.”

The officer shrugged. “Direct orders. You just need to comply.”

Qiara let out a short, bitter chuckle. “Leon De Santos.”

One of the men leaned closer. “Don’t cause trouble. You won’t be able to escape.”

Qiara turned, her eyes burning with hatred. “You think this is the end?”

No one answered. They simply escorted her toward the special departure gate.

Qiara looked back once more, as if hoping someone would come to save her.

There was no one.

The plane took off, carrying Qiara to a remote place prepared by Leon—far from influence, far from plans, and far from anyone she could control.

Chapter 117Gesha sat on the large sofa in the family room of the De Santos residence. Her small feet did not reach the floor. In front of her, Leon crouched down, offering her a glass of warm milk.“Drink first,” Leon said softly. “Your journey was quite long.”Gesha took the glass with both hands. “Thank you, Uncle.”Leon sat beside her. “Are you hungry?”Gesha nodded slightly. “A little.”Leon turned to the servant. “Prepare some light food. Nothing spicy.”“Yes, Sir,” the servant replied quickly.Leon looked at Gesha closely. There was a strange warmth in his chest. The child sat quietly, hugging her doll, her eyes wandering around the large room.“You’re very brave to come here alone,” Leon said.Gesha smiled faintly. “I took a taxi. Like an adult.”Leon almost laughed, but held it back. “That must not be repeated. It’s dangerous.”Gesha lowered her head. “I’m sorry.”That tone made Leon fall silent for a moment. He sighed. “Uncle isn’t angry. But next time, tell your Mommy first

The morning in Europe felt busy for Giselle and Billy. Since after breakfast, both of them had already been preparing to leave the house. Giselle wore a light cream-colored coat, her hair neatly tied back. Her face looked calm, though only on the surface.“Our schedule is quite packed today,” Billy said while checking his phone. “First, the reception venue, then the church, and after that we’ll go to the boutique.”Giselle nodded. “Yes, I’m ready.”Billy turned and looked at Giselle for a moment. “Are you sure you’re not tired?”“No,” Giselle replied quickly. “I’m fine.”Billy smiled faintly. “If you’re tired, say so. This process is indeed exhausting.”They arrived at the reception venue that had already partnered with the wedding organizer team. Several staff members welcomed them warmly.“Good morning, Mr. Billy, Miss Giselle,” greeted a woman from the wedding team. “We have prepared the concept discussed yesterday.”They sat in a small meeting room. Several design boards and decor

Chapter 115The atmosphere in the school garden suddenly felt heavy. Giselle stood frozen, while Gesha was still sitting on the bench, her knee wrapped with a handkerchief. The little girl’s gaze moved from Leon’s face to Giselle’s, waiting for an answer.“Mommy…” Gesha’s voice was soft, almost a whisper. “Uncle Leon said… he is my Daddy.”Giselle opened her mouth, but the words seemed stuck in her throat. Her chest rose and fell, her mind went blank. She was not ready. Not at all.Leon saw the confusion. He knew that if it continued even a second longer, everything would collapse.Leon stepped forward one step. “Gesha,” he called softly. The child turned her head. Her eyes were still wet, filled with fragile hope.Leon knelt down so he was at eye level with Gesha. His hands clenched beside his knees, holding back the tremor that wanted to surface.“I’m sorry, Uncle says,” Leon finally spoke.Gesha frowned. “Sorry… for what?”Leon took a deep breath. “Earlier, Uncle… lied.”Giselle st

Morning in Europe felt busy for Giselle. Since Billy won a major case for his client—a complicated divorce case involving child custody—the rhythm of their lives had changed quickly. Billy seemed more energetic, more optimistic, and more confident about the future they were preparing together. In the living room of the old house inherited from Giselle’s family, several wedding decoration catalogs lay open on the table. There were samples of flowers, lighting arrangements, seating layouts, and stage concepts.Billy sat across from Giselle while holding a tablet. “I’ve spoken with the best decoration vendors. They recommend a classic European concept. White and gold. Grand, but still elegant.”Giselle nodded slowly. “Whatever you prefer.”Billy smiled. “I want our wedding to be wholehearted. Once in a lifetime.”“Yes,” Giselle replied briefly.Billy turned his head, observing Giselle’s expression. “Are you tired?”“No,” Giselle answered quickly. “I’m just… thinking about a lot of things

Chapter 113The afternoon began to fade as Giselle held Gesha’s hand and walked toward the mall parking lot. Their steps were slow, unhurried. Shopping bags hung from Giselle’s arm, while Gesha hugged her new doll tightly.“Mommy,” Gesha called softly.“Yes, sweetheart?” Giselle replied as she pressed the car’s unlock button.Gesha did not answer right away. She climbed into the back seat and sat quietly while hugging her doll. Her small face looked gloomy, very different from the cheerful expression she had shown since morning.Giselle sat in the driver’s seat and glanced at her through the rearview mirror. “Are you tired?”Gesha shook her head slightly.“Does your stomach hurt?”“No.”The car slowly moved away from the mall area. The road was not too crowded. The radio played softly, but Giselle was not really listening. Her thoughts were still stuck in the mall corridor earlier.Leon’s attitude.Cold. Distant. As if they were truly strangers.Giselle gripped the steering wheel a li

Chapter 112It had been two days since Giselle arrived in Europe. The weekend air felt more welcoming, not as crowded as weekdays. That morning, the sun was shining brightly, making Giselle decide to take Gesha out of the house.“Mommy, where are we going?” Gesha asked while putting on her small shoes.“We’re going out,” Giselle replied while adjusting her daughter’s jacket. “To the mall. You promised you wanted ice cream.”Gesha immediately cheered. “Yeeey! I want chocolate!”Giselle chuckled softly. “Yes, yes. But after we eat first.”Billy had already said goodbye that morning. He stood by the door in a neat outfit, carrying his work bag.“Sorry, I can’t come with you,” Billy said while putting on his suit. “I have a client. A divorce case.”Giselle nodded. “It’s okay. Good luck with your work.”Billy smiled slightly. “Of course, because the two of you are my motivation.”“Uncle Billy, will you buy me a toy later?” Gesha interrupted innocently.Billy laughed. “Of course.
