Power rushed through Zephyr's body like fire in his veins. He felt stronger, faster and deadlier than ever before, this was even different from when he lost himself to the curse.

But something else came with the power. Something dark and hungry.

His pale eyes, now black as night, scanned the forest. He could sense everything. Every single heartbeat. Every breath. Every drop of spilled blood.

And he could sense her.

Laura.

She was hurt. Bleeding. Fighting for her life miles away.

"I'm coming," he whispered again.

But the voice that came out wasn't quite his own.

Zephyr started running. His feet barely touched the ground. Trees blurred past him.

Behind him, the ancient stone circle crumbled to dust. Dark magic had consumed it completely.

His first step took him twenty feet. His second took him fifty.

This power was incredible.

A deer crossed his path. Without thinking, Zephyr's claws shot out. The animal fell in pieces.

He stared at the blood on his hands. When had he grown claws?
