MasukCHAPTER 6
MADDY’S POINT OF VIEW “Alpha Rowan J. Grey?” Kiesha's eyes went wide. “You mean the Alpha President?” I nodded, looking away so she wouldn't ask me more questions. Whatever questions she might have, I had no answers to them. Kiesha slipped her phone out from her bag. She hissed, “Shit. We have just five minutes, Maddy.” “Alpha Rowan… Are you sure you can reach him?” she asked, her tone edged with seriousness. “We have no appointment, so that will be hard to do in five minutes. Calling the Alpha President on the phone is impossible, and even crazily impossible to do that in five minutes!” “How do you intend to reach him? I have the Alpha Villa public line, but we both know they'd ask for the appointment code or letter.” “I have his private line,” I confessed, and Kiesha froze. “You—what…?” She glanced around, her tone lowering so no one could hear us. “You have the Alpha President's private line? Is that what you just said?” I nodded, swallowing hard. “Y-yes… It's a long story, Auntie.” “I don't care about the long story, Maddy.” She tossed her phone in front of me. “Put the number here. Fast, Maddy!” I wasted no time entering the Alpha's private line he had given me that night. He had given me his private line, and though I had never called it before, I had rehearsed it by heart. As I watched Kiesha dial the number, I silently prayed to the Book Goddess that the number was still in use. It had been years. Seconds passed, and she paced around, phone pressed tightly to her ear. When there was no response, she twisted her neck to steal a glance at me, and my heart sank deep into my stomach. She tried calling again, and goosebumps rose on my skin. This was it; if it came back unanswered again like the first time, then it was all over. My heart pounded in my chest, my hands trembled slightly as I watched her. Then suddenly she paused. “H-hello?…” she muttered, and an exhale escaped my lips. ~~~HOURS LATER~~~ The two-hour drive to the airport took a little longer because of the traffic on the expressway. I still can't believe that I'm free. Everything seems like some prank to me. Sitting inside the cab, I narrowed my gaze out the window, the deep wind blowing against my face as I thought about my life. I still can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that De-shawn killed our pup and framed me. He's taken it all and also wants to lock me up in rehab. I am out right now, thanks to Alpha Rowan J. Grey. Kiesha told me that after he picked up the call, she explained I needed his help, and he made the right calls to get me out of there immediately. I'm still a little surprised that he remembers me by name. She said she'd told him Madison, but he reiterated, saying… “Maddy Carter.” Since that one phone call got me out of there, and an Alpha private plane was sent down to bring me back to the pack, Kiesha has been side-eyeing me. I know she has a lot of questions to ask, but I'm grateful she didn't ask me anything; she just helped me book a cab to the airport. My mind wandered to De-shawn again, and I wondered what he planned to do with all that he stole from me. He'd be a billionaire overnight, thanks to my fortune. I should have known that was all he wanted. Minutes later, the cab parked at the airport, and I quickly found my way to the private Alpha plane that had come to pick me up. When we finally arrived, a motorcade was already awaiting my arrival. I sat inside for the next few hours. With the glass rolled down a little, I narrowed my gaze outside as the car continued to drive until we finally reached the Alpha villa. Once they turned off the engine, I exhaled heavily. Back home—back to the one place that I shouldn’t be. I stepped out, my eyes glazing over the entire area. I looked at the building; nothing was as I remembered. Every building standing here is new. Though the one in front of me right now seems to be different. It was a sprawling, modern rustic farmhouse set on over twenty acres of land. It was the kind built to last generations, not trends. Limestone and aged white brick wrapped the structure, softened by warm cedar beams that had darkened naturally with time. Nothing about it screamed new money—this was quiet, deliberate wealth. The kind that didn’t need to prove itself, but you could just tell it was luxurious. I swallowed hard, my fists clenching at my sides Without wasting any more time, I bolted inside just as they had instructed. But as soon as I walked in, that familiar scent hit me. I felt my wolf stir, excited in my head, and I froze. It had been days since I felt my wolf. ‘Mate mate mate’ came here again and I paused. She had continuously hidden herself after the death of our pup. She paced around in my mind, excitedly clawing at the surface, frantic for male attention. The scent hit my nostrils, and I raised my gaze. Over six feet tall, with broad shoulders wide enough to fill a hallway. Light brown hair now rolled and coiled to the side, and a beard that was both black and grizzled; he stood out as the most handsome man I’d ever met in my entire life. I could forget everything in life, but not the man standing in front of me right now. For a few moments, my eyes were fixed on Alpha Rowan J. Grey. I didn’t move, and he didn’t move or blink. His gaze dragged up from my feet to my face. "A-alpha R-rowan,” the air rushed out of my lungs in a shaky whisper. My throat went dry, and my eyes suddenly wet again. He didn't tear his gaze away from me, and that was all it took for my feet to move. One slow step at a time, and then another—next, I was on my heels, bolting into his arms. I growled into his chest, my hands wrapped around him tightly as I broke into hot sobs. He saved my life. Slowly, his palms slid up my spine, wrapping around me,not politely, but possessively. “M-a-ddy,” he murmured into my hair hoarsely. “I have missed you.” His voice had aged like fine wine, and I felt it resonate in my bones, sinking deep into parts of me that hadn't been touched in years. Hugging him tightly, all the mate pull I thought would have been subdued seemed to have reignited. My wolf lunged forward so hard against my ribs that I could feel her happiness from within. Minutes passed as he lowered his head, his cheeks brushing my hair. For a fleeting second, he just breathed in my scent. No words—nothing. He didn’t speak. He just held me tight, a subtle warning never to leave again. But soon enough, the realization hit me, I was hugging the Lycan President. I wiggled my arms slowly, breaking free from his embrace. “Sorry….” I quickly apologized.” I got carried away by emotions.”CHAPTER 54MADDY'S POINT OF VIEW.My cheeks burned, and I narrowed my gaze out the window, pretending not to hear him.I stood back, my eyes now fixed on him while he leaned against the kitchen counter, the coffee mug still warm between his palms.Moments later, he was done and walked over to where he had dropped his suitcase. He picked it up, stretching it over to me. I raised an eyebrow, my first instinct to grab it from him.“What are you doing?”“You're following me to work,” he said, already heading outside, and I trailed immediately.“I’m not supposed to go to work with you. I'm not your PA or your worker; the deal doesn't entail going to work with you,” I protested, my legs moving fast just to catch up with him.“Well…” he suddenly paused, turning to face me, “take that as your first punishment for leaving your client unattended all night.”“When we get to work, I will think of what other punishment suits you in that dress…” His eyes shifted down to my body, and I instinctivel

CHAPTER 53MADDY'S POINT OF VIEW.I tried to pretend that I hadn't seen him, but his eyes bore holes into my body.“So Maddy, how is your friend?” Sloane asked, a hint of interest in her tone. “Dad said you went to see your friend.”I blinked a few times, confusion marring my features. But before I could respond, DeShawn's voice cut through.“Babe…” he called, and Sloane tilted her head, turning to him. “Come see this. I think you'd love it for our wedding.”Sloane flashed me a smile and hastened across the room to see what he had to show her on the phone about their wedding.I tried to look away and not look at them, but I just couldn’t help looking. The way he wrapped his hand around her shoulder while showing her what he wanted to show on the phone made my stomach twist—not just in pain but in exhaustion mixed with confusion. How is he planning his wedding with the Alpha's daughter and still frequents my house and calls my dad his father-in-law?I'm just tired of it all. I am also
CHAPTER 52.MADDY'S POINT OF VIEW.It's been more than twenty-four hours since De-shawn suggested that I go back to the rehabilitation center just so my dad's business could be restored. For the last twenty hours the house has been awkwardly silent. Dad didn't talk to me; well, I also didn't make it out of my room to talk to any of them. They choose to believe a man they had never seen rather than their own daughter.Dad and Clara made a choice, and now I’d be making mine. I will choose myself over and over again.I don't care whose business is collapsing; I'm not going back to that rehabilitation center.I'd rather die than let them take me back there when we both know I'm okay and nothing is wrong with me.I sat up on the bed, thinking of what De-shawn is playing at.It's beyond just trying to put me back in the human rehabilitation center. I am sure it's beyond that.Inside the Alpha's restroom we had agreed to mind the business that pays us both.I wouldn't talk about him or tell
CHAPTER 51.ROWAN'S POINT OF VIEW The morning sun streamed through the windows, its rays slipping across the floor.I stood in front of the window, my gaze narrowed outside, but the only person occupying my mind was Maddy.I slid my hand into my pocket and took out my phone. I checked it—no calls. It was past eleven in the morning, and there was still no sign of her.For a moment the idea that she might have escaped crossed my mind, but I pushed it away. She doesn’t seem to hate how I had stretched her pussy in the office, she wanted more, so I don’t think she has run away.I wanted to ask Adams to make a search and find her, but that would only spark more reactions and draw attention that I don’t want.Dominic, my childhood friend and also the Beta of the pack, already suspects that I have a liking for Maddy.Dominic has always been a case for my private and sexual life. He has always wanted me to get another partner since my wife died.We don’t need a lonely leader; get a woman, he
CHAPTER 50THIRD POINT OF VIEW.The atmosphere turned tense at once, the slow clink of cutlery against chipped ceramic plates the only sound. Maddy fixed her gaze on De-Shawn, her mouth still as wide as her eyes. She wanted to hear what he had to say and how it connected to her. “It has everything to do with her,” De-Shawn swallowed, shifting his gaze to Norman. “Remember what I showed you about her abuse of drugs?” Norman nodded slowly. Clara’s eyes snapped toward Maddy at once, shocked. Maddy’s heart sank deep into her stomach at the mention of drugs. What the hell did he tell her family? she wondered. She had nothing to do with drugs—he planted all of that, and now he was… “I told you I tried to put her in a human rehabilitation centre, but she escaped from it and came back to the pack.” “Actually, the big investor that pulled out of your company months ago was her.” Gasps rippled through the dining room. Clara’s fork finally slipped from her hand, clattering to her plate.
