Chapter Fifteen

Daisy’s POV

I rushed into my room, firmly closing the door to block out the argument happening in the meeting room. However, it was of no use. Landon and his parents' voices had grown louder, each fueled by anger and frustration.

“I will not accept that thing as your mate!” I heard the queen’s shrill voice from the meeting room. “You must be mated to a royal princess!”

“Screw your royalty! I won’t be with anyone else but Daisy!” I flinched slightly when I heard Landon’s voice. I knew he was angry, so angry that his wolf was threatening to break free.

“What is wrong with me?” I slumped down to the cold, bare floor, my back pressing against the door. “Why am I never enough for the people I love?”

In my grief, I considered if I had made the wrong choice by accepting Logan as my mate. I tried to envision a life where I made a different choice and stayed with Alexander. Such a life would be full of misery, but it would have saved me from Queen Athena’s scorching hatred.
