Daisy's POV

A low chuckle left Landon's lips as he shook his head slowly. He turned to me, his gaze a mixture of sadness and pain. "Do you want to know why I didn't tell you about her, mother?" He asked, taking a step closer to her, his hands clenched beside him.

"It's obvious." Queen Athena purred, shooting me a disgusted glare. "You're ashamed of her. I would be ashamed and embarrassed by her too. I can't believe the moon goddess would make you wait for years and give you this—this.." She scrunched up her face in disgust as she pointed at me. It was like she was avoiding staring at me completely like a look from me could curse her with leprosy. "This girl. It's unbelievable that you would bring her into this palace in the first place."

"I've waited for hundreds of years to find my mate—" Landon began but his mother quickly chipped in.

"That is not an excuse to bring in just anybody to this palace."

    DAISYLandon led me to his room, without saying a word to me, or letting go of my waist. I was grateful for that because it would simply make the princesses see the chemistry between us and annoy them even more."Come in," he said politely.I said nothing as I stepped in. Taking several steps away from him, in other to put some distance between us, I watched as he shut the door firmly behind him. I held my hands together, hoping to control the pain that I was feeling. You have shown me what I meant to you since the night of the ball."I blinked in shock as Landon suddenly pushed me against the wall, trapping me with his body. "What are you afraid of, Daisy?"I looked away from his piercing eyes, unable to take any more of the heat that he exuded.

    DAISY"I can’t keep staying here," I grumbled as I got out of bed, feeling completely drained. I knew I needed rest but I couldn’t continue to lie in bed all day. I was losing my mind with all the thoughts in my head and a distraction was needed. I had no idea what time it was, but I knew I had spent two days in bed after Landon’s last visit. The fact he had not come again to check up on me was so painful. Was I really going to succeed in breaking my own relationship with my own hands? Had I really succeeded in pushing him away?
