Harry took a deep breath, as if gathering courage from the tightness in his chest. His eyes lingered on Arabella’s face, pausing there for a moment.

“I want to terminate our marriage contract,” he said, his voice low and heavy.

Arabella froze.

Her pupils dilated, as if she'd just heard a sentence she never expected to receive that night.

“What do you mean?” she whispered, her voice catching in her throat. Her chest began to warm—not from a hug or a touch—but from a creeping fear that slipped in uninvited.

Harry lowered his gaze. His cold fingers gently brushed the back of her hand. “I don’t want there to be a contract between us anymore,” he continued. “I want... something real. A real marriage. No conditions. No boundaries.”

Arabella still didn’t speak. Her lips parted slightly, but no words came out. She stared at Harry’s face, searching for signs of a lie or a cruel joke. But there were none. His face was sincere—more vulnerable than she'd ever seen it.

“Dad… I don’t get it. Why Arabella?”Helena’s voice was tinged with frustration as she sat on the edge of Edwin Dahlan’s bed in the master bedroom. He had just finished his physiotherapy session and looked visibly tired, but his gaze remained sharp, fixed on his youngest daughter—who now whined like a little girl denied a doll.“Helena…” Edwin sighed deeply. “Arabella is part of this family.”Helena scoffed, turning her face toward the window. “Part of the family? Do you even realize she only graduated high school? She used to work at a boutique, then as a promo girl, an event assistant—I don’t even know what she’s actually good at, except winning you over.”The atmosphere in the room chilled. The soft evening breeze drifting in through the curtains couldn’t ease the sudden tension.“I know you’re smart. A future doctor. But that doesn’t mean Arabella has no worth,” Edwin said, calm but firm.Helena turned to face him, eyes clouded with disappointment and hurt. “You trust her more tha

That night, after the chaos at the restaurant—the drama with Liana and all the emotions that had been stirred up—Arabella and Harry returned home as quietly as possible. They tiptoed past Grandpa Hans’s room, the door shut tight and the lights already out.As soon as they entered their room, Arabella softly closed the door behind them and leaned against it, holding her breath.“Congratulations,” she whispered. “We’ve escaped Grandpa’s radar. Again.”Harry, already sitting on the bed and loosening his jacket, turned to her with a faint smirk. “That man is like a fake-love detector. I’m sure he’s been suspicious since day one.”Arabella walked toward him. “But at least... nothing’s been proven yet. We’re safe—for tonight.”She sat on the edge of the bed, eyes drifting to the vanity mirror, where their silhouettes shimmered under the soft, amber glow of the bedside lamp.“I feel guilty,” she said quietly, almost to herself. “Because all of this started with a lie.”Harry reached out, his

“Wow, wow... I did not expect to see you in a place this classy,” Liana said, sweeping her gaze over Harry. “Romantic dinner, huh? Impressive. You’ve really upgraded—landing yourself a wheelchair-bound sugar daddy.”Arabella arched an eyebrow, her eyes narrowing. “Liana, if you have nothing important to say, I suggest you leave.”Liana giggled, leaning coquettishly against her boyfriend’s arm—clearly making him uncomfortable. The man nudged her lightly, silently urging her to stop. She ignored him.“Relax, Bell. I’m just surprised. You used to act all high and mighty. Refused overtime, wouldn’t take on flirty male clients, turned down every chance to climb the ladder. But look at you now—guess all it took to level up was a wheelchair with a hefty bank account behind it. Oh, sorry—your husband, right?”Harry stayed silent. But his jaw tightened, eyes sharp. His hand gripped the edge of the table so hard his knuckles turned white. Still, not a word from him.Arabella, on the other hand,

Arabella stared at the termination agreement, emotions swirling inside her like a storm. The amount printed on the paper made her chest tighten—thousands of dollars. A figure she never imagined she'd have to pay just to quit a job. It felt like a trap. Guilt twisted inside her, but so did anger.“I don’t regret resigning,” she murmured under her breath, “but… why does it have to cost this much?”Carla looked at her, her expression calm but firm. “There’s not much we can do, Bella. It’s all in writing. You signed the contract.”“I know,” Arabella whispered, nodding slowly. “But back then, I didn’t fully understand what I was agreeing to. I didn’t think the consequences would be… this big.”Carla folded her hands on the table. “I get that this is hard for you. But those are the boutique’s rules.”Arabella exhaled deeply. “If I can’t pay it all at once… is there any other way?”Carla paused, then replied, “I don’t have the authority to make that call. But I can talk to management—maybe th

After the kiss, silence swallowed them whole.Arabella kept her head down, her feelings in turmoil. Her lips still felt warm, her cheeks blushed, and her chest pounded like a war drum that didn’t know when to stop.Meanwhile, Harry… just stood there, staring at Arabella as if time had frozen. No one spoke. No one dared to meet the other’s gaze.“I... I shouldn’t have—” Harry’s voice was barely audible. He felt guilty for crossing the line. But… he couldn’t help himself. His heart had already chosen Arabella.“Don’t say it was a mistake,” Arabella cut in quickly, though her voice trembled. “Because I know it wasn’t.”Harry looked at her, uncertain.“But if you regret it—”“I don’t regret it,” she replied immediately. Then she exhaled slowly. “I’m just... scared.”Harry took a step closer, carefully, as if afraid the moment would shatter.“Scared of what?” he asked, though he already knew.Arabella was probably traumatized—betrayed by Mike, her ex.Arabella bit her lower lip. It took a
