1. MISSION: Kill the King

It was shiny, gold that reflected from the sun. She stared at the coins and a piece of bar in front of her. She turned her head to the window as she peered out.

“I heard that you can kill anyone?”

She was silent. She couldn’t see the man behind the partition between them. But she knew the voice inside a small cubicle where her handlers made her sit and wait to speak with clients about information.

“I saw the evidence of how you massacred the baron’s men.”

She never opened her mouth. She will tap her handler as a heads up if she’ll take the offer.

The man pushed out more gold bars.

“This is not the full payment. I’ll triple it once you have done the job.” His voice sounded so deep, baritone and the way he spoke was rich. She knew instantly that he could be a noble… under the command of another noble or a royal.

He pushed out a photo as she stared at the man. Her eyes squinted as she frowned. The King? They wanted the King’s head? How ironic?

It’s hard to kill such a person with a God-like status. She nearly scoffed as she rolled her eyes. But as she looked closely, the man had a reputation, but he was a bloody asshole who killed for fun.

This might be the reason why they wanted him dead. But she had no choice as she asked for more payment. Because soon enough, she’ll live in peace. She can’t die yet… but she will… soon enough.

“Remember, you need to enter the castle to be able to ki~~”

Her eyes snapped on the partition between them. But it was interrupted by the sound.

“Apologies,”

The word kill would make her kill everyone until she’s satisfied. She pushed the red button as she stood and left her cubicle.

She made sure to pull her hood to cover her and half of her face. Her mood has been spoiled but this company wanted money badly.

She went to her handler’s office. He looked up at her from head to toe as he placed the new document, her identification, and more.

“Trix, you need to try to seduce your target.”

“I know.” She said as she turned back and had it gathered.

“Trix, you need to study everything on that booklet so you’ll pass the first screening.”

Again, she didn’t say a thing as she picked it up and took the bag of money that she needed to turn herself into someone par to the expectation of the Lycan King’s maids. They are hiring for new maids as few were killed or murdered recently. It was probably that man’s doing—the one who wanted the King’s head.

Upon reaching her penthouse, she sat down on the sofa and opened the documents. The leaked blueprints of the castle. With all of the information needed, it seemed that the man who wanted the King dead was someone working or a royal. If her assumptions are correct, she’ll meet that man in the castle.

****

“Your majesty!” His Aide called as he turned his head.

He knew well that he would nag on him. He’s not allowed to leave the castle unless all of the paperwork is done.

“You can’t leave yet! Some things need to be signed. Including the hiring of new maids.”

“You are being nosy again, Paxton.” He glared at him but the man didn’t even flinch. He’s an alpha himself and the man wasn’t intimidated by him. He’s a best friend from childhood as well.

“Mr. Dominick.” Paxton smiled although his aura changed.

Dominick sighed and reached his forehead.

“Man, what should I do without you? Of course, you are right!” He reached his shoulders. “But our priority is to find my mate to have heirs.” He said.

“Right,” Paxton kept a smile plastered on his face. An annoyed smile.

“At least sign this.” Paxton handed him a paper. “Your cousin has been nagging me about this. We lack maids and the hiring should continue.”

“I see,” He said as he stared down at the paper.

“I already had a background investigation on each of them. If there were assassins, I think it’s our time to find which agency they were. The massacre from the North was only made by one assassin. Aren’t you curious about that?”

“I am,” Dominick said nonchalantly and signed it. Then, Paxton was relieved that another was lifted off from his shoulder. He was about to tell the King about a few more things but the man left quickly.

Dominick planned to disguise himself and left the castle for a while. He needs to find his mate and bear heirs. As a King, he can’t get any woman pregnant unless it is his other half. It was like that to prevent bastards in the family. The relic was somewhere that he was trying to find. If his mate is dead, he needs to impregnate any woman to have his heir.

Things are going on already in his mind. He’s thirty-three yet he has no heir, no bride, and no queen. Everyone thought that he was unfit for the role of the King as there were assassins sent to him even in his sleep.

He used a tunnel that would lead him to the secret underground door out of the castle. He used his motorbike as he drove to the city. He drove real fast and upon reaching the city, he drove slowly as he checked around the ladies. None picks his interest.

He parked his car in the usual cafe that he went to. He put his helmet casually over the bike as he entered. He was wearing sunglasses as always as he approached the counter. There are at least 4 people online.

“Is that all, Ma’am?” The cashier asked. He checked his wristwatch. Shortly, the line continues as someone picks his interest. Upon seeing a petite person wearing an oversized hoodie jacket, he thought of the assassin who slaughtered the guards.

There’s a very uncanny resemblance.

As soon as the person passed him, her scent caught him. It’s only a little but it drives him crazy. He froze for a moment and when the door closed, he rushed out to follow whoever the person was.

He looked at each side as he took steps to the ally. His instinct told him that the person was there and he knew well that whoever that person was~~was his.
