4 Alpha Elias

Azura

I tell the guards on the borders my name and he mind-links his Alpha to get his permission to let me enter. The cold expression on his face soon vanishes as he smiles at me and leads me to the pack house where Alpha Theo lives.

My mother’s parents had two daughters so Aunt Gina’s mate, Alpha Theo, took over the pack as he was the Crimson Moon pack’s Alpha’s second son and my father wanted to serve his pack as the Beta.

“Zura,” Elias smirks, teasing me by calling me Zura just like he used to do when we were kids. We often played together as Dad let me come to the Black Cliff pack to bond with my mother’s side family and Aunt Gina treated me like her own daughter.

Elias and I were close, he knew about my crush on Nicholas but he never liked him. Contrarily, he was glad when I dated Ryker in the academy. Ryker and Nicholas were roommates and had become best friends, that’s how I came to know about the most arrogant and ruthless Ryker’s existence. The cold-hearted Alpha.

I roll my eyes and frown. “Hello, Eli-Peli.” And it’s his turn to roll his gorgeous ocean-blue eyes. Goddess, I was always jealous of his eyes. We both had blue eyes but I liked his shade better and he knew that.

“Stop calling me that. I’m an Alpha now,” he whines, dismissing the guard.

The revelation strikes me, and my eyes widen in astonishment. “When did you take over the pack and become Alpha?”

“Last week only after father passed away in the rogue’s attack while I was away to deal with the business matter in the town,” he retorts in a low voice, his playful tone changing to a gloomy tone.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know anything about this. I was so caught up in my father’s-” I suppress my lip, not wanting to bother him with my burden when he was already grappling with his father’s loss and the responsibility of an Alpha.

He grabs my elbows, his eyes narrowing at me. “What’s wrong with Uncle Drake?”

I take a sharp deep breath to calm my pounding heart as I don’t want him to see me crying and I’m on the edge of breaking down because Elias sees right through me and despite our little arguments and fights, he deeply cares about me like an elder brother.

“He passed away. Someone killed him and the forensic reports show that I’m the murderer,” I tell him the truth, knowing him all too well that he will not leave the topic until he gets to the bottom of it.

“And Nicholas exiled you from the pack, that’s why you’re here?” He asks in a dangerously low tone.

I lower my head in embarrassment. It hurts like hell hearing those words. “He didn’t trust me and asked his men to lock me up in the cell till the Alpha Lucius arrived so I escaped.” I didn’t tell him about what Ella had heard. I didn’t want Elias to go to the Dark Storm pack and rip his heart out.

Elias would exactly do that if he ever got to know that Nicholas not only ordered my imprisonment but also was planning to kill me with my stepsister.

“Fucking bastard. He proved that the bastards are never trustworthy,” Elias spits furiously. Although Alpha Lucius has declared Nicholas as his legitimate son, people knew the truth. Luna Pamela was Alpha Lucius’s Mistress whom he married after his fated mate died while giving birth to Ryker.

Ryker and I had suffered through the same fate but his father disowned him while my father cherished me.

“I’m sorry, Elias. I didn’t know about Uncle Theo’s death or else I wouldn’t have come here to bother you,” I say as guilt surfaces in my heart.

He lets out a low growl. “Shut the fuck up and come inside. The Black Cliff pack is your home now.”

Elias forces me to go and take a shower, poking fun at me that I’m reeking of sweat. After taking a cold shower, I grab a black tank top and a pair of shorts from my backpack and get ready to go downstairs to have breakfast.

I’m nervous about meeting my Aunt. She had been a cheerful person who could make even a sick person smile. I didn’t know how to comfort her. I wasn’t ready to see her mournful face but I had to put a brave front and offer her my condolences.

I see three strange faces on the table but can’t put a name on them as I make my way to the dining table where they are waiting for me.

“Azura, honey,” Aunt Gina smiles weakly at me, getting up from her chair and pulling me in her warm embrace. Her daisy scent comforts me as she rubs her hand down my back gently.

“Hello, Azura,” a blonde girl who is sitting beside Elias smiles sweetly at me. “Oh, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Olivia-”

Elias cut in, “My mate and Luna,” he says, his chest swelling with pride.

“What did you see in him to choose him?” I scowl and shrug while he shoots daggers at me. “I mean, look at yourself, you’re so pretty and you can get any gorgeous Alpha you want.”

Olivia giggles softly and waves her hand. “You’re funny. I like you.”

“Everyone likes me,” I shrug and a smug grin tugs at my lips as I try to lighten the mood with my jokes.

“Except me,” Elias smirks. “Anyways, I’m leaving for the Lunar Academy in an hour so Jack, my Beta, will be filling in for me for two days.” He introduces me to his two Beta and the Gamma and tells me that I can ask for them if I need any help.

“Why for two days?” I ask in confusion. I’m aware that all the Alphas are obligated to go to the Lunar Academy and have the designated training for the combat but as far as I remember, the duration was three months.

“I’m not going to participate in the combat. There is a lot to deal with at the pack now that the rogues are threatening to attack over and over so I can’t be away from the pack for three months. We are still recovering from the previous attacks,” Elias admits in a pained voice.

“Then, why are you going there for just two days?” I ask curiously, sipping my orange juice.

“To withdraw my name, I have to go there personally and it will take two days to have a round trip to the Lunar Academy as you know,” he says, finishing the last bite of his fried egg.

I play with the fork in my hand and Elias kicks me from under the table. His brow is arched, asking what is running in my mind but I have to be wary after tasting betrayal in my pack so I simply shake my head after looking at his Beta and Gamma.

We finish our breakfast and everyone leaves after bowing to their Alpha, leaving us alone. Olivia helps Aunt Gina to go back to her room as she is weak after losing her mate.

“Spill,” Elias speaks after crossing his arms once we’re alone.

“I want to participate in the Alpha combat and since you’re not participating, I want to go there by your name,” I tell him sternly to which he nods his head.
