INICIAR SESIÓNAlpha Khyrix, the first true Alpha born in over a hundred years of leaderless chaos in the werewolf pack. Avelora, a wolfless girl, earned a scholarship to Northshire High, a place that promised greatness. Instead, she was treated like a maid. No different from her own pack. On the night of Alpha Khyrix’s coronation, he shocked everyone by declaring her his mate… only to reveal to her in private that she was nothing more than a pretend mate. He turned her world upside down just to tell her it was all a lie. Now, he offers a deal: pretend to be his mate in public, and he will grant her any wish. Avelora agrees, she’s always wanted to belong, and this might be her chance. But chaos blooms from their forced proximity. Every touch sends Avelora into a frenzy… and the Alpha harbors a secret that could turn their lie into a dangerous, undeniable truth.

Our school was built to unite the tribes, not to separate us.
Then why are we in ranks? Why am I part of the working population when I’m supposed to be a student like everyone else?
I was supposed to be equal, at least, equal in illusion?
Our hierarchy was so strict that even the cafeteria wasn’t exempted.
I balanced the fancy silver food tray that was exclusively prepared for Alpha Khyrix as I stepped into the restricted dining hall.
"I hope he falls on his butt at his coronation tonight." I muttered, staring down at the tray.
As expected, Natalia was wrapped around him like second skin. His beta, Zayn, lounged to his right with two other guys sitting next to him, I didn't bother to learn their names because they hadn't bother to learn mine.
Natalia planted her lips on his cheek, she then looked up at me as if making a point.
I almost gagged but set the tray on the dining table anyway, Khyrix didn’t even glance up, he was totally absorbed in his phone, his body relaxed and expression unreadable.
Without acknowledging me, his friends began picking the bread.
I just want to leave, it was too early in the morning to deal with overconfident and arrogant wolves.
Especially an Alpha who needed a personal food delivery but never takes a bite out of the food and never bothered to know the name of the person that has been serving him for two years.,
Natalia kept sucking on him like he was her favorite candy. I fixed my gaze on the floor trying to avoid as much eye contact as I could.
"Uh.. What are you still doing here?" Natalia skanky, high pitched voice complained.
I cringed.
Finally Khyrix looked up with that extremely detached look on his face, his eyes skimmed over me, then his gaze dropped back to his phone.
Natalia's interest had shifted to me.
"Do you think standing there will make him notice you?" My eyes snapped up to hers, disbelief clouding my already irritated feature, I totally and absolutely despised this.
I didn’t have a reaction, I shouldn't, she has been picking on me the moment I walked through the gate of Northshire high.
I was from a lower pack and out of place. She barely lets me breathe.
As if what she said was funny, they all started laughing, I almost rolled my eyes.
"Stop." Khyrix's attention finally shifted from the phone it was focused on, he looked at me again like he was just noticing that I was there, he lifted his hand and gestured me to leave.
Like an animal being controlled, I listened not daring to look back.
I heaved a breathe I hadn't realized I was holding.
For people like me, that are at the bottom of the food chain, both in school and in our community, that was the closest I could ever get to the alpha and that was the most word he was ever going to say to me.
I checked the time as I left the hall, I couldn’t make it to practice even if I tried, I had spent too much time in there.
All I had left to do was prepare for Alpha Khyrix coronation ball which was tonight, every werewolf pack will be there.
They were all waiting for him to find a mate.
I was supposed to buy a dress yesterday, but kitchen duty had me trapped.
The only dress I had was the one I brought from my village, the precious knee length dress my mum had emptied her savings to buy.
I had to serve at the coronation, that was the only way I could make it into the venue without been thrown out.
..........................
By evening, the whole school was already buzzing with energy.
I ran to my spot in the kitchen, carrying one of the tray of snacks that was made earlier.
I took a deep breath and prayed today goes without any mistakes for anyone to remember me by.
Even though I hated being invisible, I also liked it, if that made any sense.
The first person to spot me coming was Natalia.
Figures, the moon goddess had never been kind to me, always playing one joke after the other.
"I knew I smelt something." Natalia and her crew of three minion covered their noses, "who allowed trash in here?" I stood still almost as if, if I didn't breathe, she would go away.
No she didn't, instead, she collected a drink from one of her minion and emptied it on my dress.
I shut my eyes and bit my lips in frustration.
I almost screamed, but I kept my control, forcing my self not to cry in these situation,
She wanted that but I wasn’t going to give her that satisfaction.
At the same time, a deep sound cut through the hall
"mate." the Alpha finally said the word the elders have been itching for him to.
Everything stopped.
All our attention turned to him, every eyes trailed after him as he searched for his mate in the crowd.
I didn’t care who she was, I just don’t want it to be Natalia. From the back of the hall, I watched in horror as he moved through the crowd, closer and closer.
It was Natalia the whole time, wasn’t it?
She finally got what she wanted, the school is going to be one living hell for me, now that she was Kyrix's mate.
"mate." he growled again but instead of going to Natalia, he passed her.
Then he leaned closer, he inhaled.
The room seemed to tilt.
"Mate." he said, quieter now.
At me.
What?
AVELORAThe word made breathable air disappear. MateThe silence that followed was deafening, broken only by the crackle of the fire and the shallow sound of my own breathing. I stood completely frozen, the exhaustion in my muscles entirely forgotten as the world tilted violently. My eyes snapped directly to Khyrix His body was rigid, I waited for him to say something, to deny it. He certainly hasn't said the man was lying. He just stood there, his fists clenching so tightly that the skin over his knuckles looked ready to split. The golden hue in his eyes bled out into the darkness, burning with a mix of hostility and guilt that he couldn’t mask fast enough. He knew. He had known the entire time."Avelora," Khyrix began, his voice dropping into a low rumble as he finally turned his head to look at me. "We are leaving. Now.""No," I whisperedThe betrayal hit me more than anything had. Every piece of the puzzle, every single confusing interaction we’d had since the moment I agree
AVELORASomething was moving in the wall. It wasn't just my mind playing tricks on me, instead of it being footsteps though, it sounded like a massive insect crawling against the wall.I instantly took cover behind the dust ridden desk that stood in the middle of the room. I wasn't hadn't been able to successfully hide behind it yet when Khyrix pulled me by my wrist, he made me stand behind him."Stay where I can see you." He commanded. The creaking against the wall grew stronger, at the same time it felt as if the veins across the book was glowing, pulsing and alive. The sound grew increasingly louder, it was coming from behind the shelf. Then everything suddenly went eerily quiet. My pulse slowed, my hand still wrapped around khyrix's who possessed the terrifying calm of someone who knew they were the apex predator.Crack.I hadn't registered the sound yet before the books on the shelf came tumbling down in a horrifying mess.Khyrix who had been standing close to the shelf with
AVELORAI was excited for information, but definitely not this excited. I didn't think my search for answers would involve being trapped in here, barely able to walk, combing through the exact same set of boring books again. My thighs were still screaming, and every time I bent over to look at a lower shelf, a flash of pain shot straight up my spine.Khyrix, however, didn't seem to be looking through the books. He was searching the library itself."Can you tell me what you are looking for?" I asked, leaning against a table. He didn't answer. He just shook his head, his focus entirely consumed by the wooden paneling of the wall."The suspense is killing me," I muttered, dragging myself a step closer. "And I am literally dying a slow death because I can feel the pain in every single inch of my body. A little communication would be nice."He looked up at me briefly. That unreadable mask had magically slipped back onto his face. Without a word, he went right back to whatever he had been d
AVELORA My throat was burning, my whole body was shaking, and Khyrix had just told me to drop into a squat position and remain there while holding these dumbbells.I was being stubborn. I wasn't ready to apologize, but I would do anything, anything, to leave this torture room.He wasn't even saying much, just being unnecessarily cruel. "I can't get strong in a day," I forced out, almost wheezing."No," he simply said, before straightening my arms and my back.My thighs were going to give out any minute, but I didn't want to collapse in front of him. Weak people weren't supposed to possess pride, but my ego had somehow become way more massive than I initially thought it was."I'm sorry," I choked out, almost inaudible. If this continued, I might die before I actually got to the Blood Moon trials."What did you say?" he asked, even though I was sure he heard me loud and clear."I said I'm sorry, Alpha. I won't make decisions without you," I breathed.Khyrix took his sweet time to walk
AVELORAIf silence could kill, the thirteen wolves in this room would have been arranging my funeral. The word yes was still echoing off the stone walls of the High Court, a self-inflicted death warrant. Every single eye at the table snapped directly to me, their expressions shifting from satisfac
AVELORAThe earth was spinning in the wrong direction, and my insides were tracking right along with it. I felt different types of urges, to throw up, run, or just spontaneously combust into dust right there on the floor. When Khyrix pushed open the double doors, the air in the hallway vanished. My
AVELORAMy muscles were screaming, a throbbing ache that radiated from my calves all the way up to my shoulders. Sweat dripped from the tip of my nose, splashing onto the floor of the training roomOne more set.One more set.I repeated the mantra, my lungs burning as I pushed myself up from the fl
KHYRIX The door to my room hadn’t even fully clicked shut before the rage I’d been suffocating since the meeting erupted."Are you completely out of your mind?"I spun around to face Avelora. She stilll reeked of anxiety but beneath that was that stubborness that made Torin roar in frustration. I
