I stood in the body-sized mirror of the hotel where our wedding was being held. My heart was pounding as I listened to the sound of a large clock hanging on the wall.

Later I heard the door open. I turned around and saw a man holding the door, and I wondered why he wasn’t walking closer to me. He just stared at me from head to toe.
