My Bully Likes Me

Anastasia POV

          The alarm clock on the desk I was using to read rang and I turned it off. It was already 6am.I sighed and took off my glasses and kept it on the desk.

        I lazily stood up from the chair and dragged myself to the bathroom to brush my teeth and freshen up.

     I brushed my teeth automatically and took a bath. After taking my bath I opened my wardrobe and took off my ironed school uniform. I looked at it with dreadful eyes but I still had to put it on .

     I got dressed and put books in my backpack. It doesn't matter if it was in the backpack, I am sure it will end up on the floor somehow.I zipped up my backpack and left my room to the kitchen where I saw mum making breakfast.

     "Good morning mum" I greeted.

   "Morning hun ,did you even get any sleep last night?" Mum asked .

    "A little"

     " Oh dear , what will I do with you? All you do all day is read " mum said.

        "I need good grades mum" I replied.

        "You are already the top in your class every year so why are you reading this much Anna?" Mum asked .

    "The eggs burning mum " I said to her and she turned to the pan and sure enough it was burning,I shook my head.

  "Oh my goodness!" Mum exclaimed as she turned off the stove ,I sat down on the breakfast table .

     " This is all your fault, " mum said to me.

  "I wasn't the one who told you not to look, " I replied.

   "Hump silly girl "mum ignored me as she continued preparing breakfast.

      I stared at mum and wondered how she looks so pretty even when cooking. Daniel, my older brother, took her looks ,while I was left with nothing but this face that got me into trouble.

      I helped mum set the dining table and soon after Dad and Daniel joined us.

   "Good morning Dad" I smiled at him.

   "Morning Anna, how was your night?" Dad asked as he sat .

    "It was fine "

    "She was reading all night again," mum added.

   "Is there anything wrong with reading?" Dad asked mum,mum pouted in return.

 I wonder at times how mum could be so free and act childish without a care in the word.

     "It's wrong she's reading a lot these days. Is anything happening in school Daniel?" Mum asked Daniel .

    "Mum she's over there asking her, ''Daniel responds grumpily.

    " don't talk to me like that young man" mum sounded annoyed.

   "That's enough let me eat in peace,apologize to your mum Daniel" dad said .

   "Sorry mum"

    " I can't believe you Daniel, you know nothing about your sister," mum said.

   Daniel gave me the look as if I was the one who made him get scolded.

We ate in silence after that we headed to school separately.

      Our school was not far away so we walked to school.

      When I got to the gate I stood still and took a deep breath.

   "Move it duck" someone said and shoved me.

    I can't even rest when I am standing still and doing nothing.

    "Anna !" a familiar voice shouted from behind and I turned around and sure enough it was Sarah, my best friend,she ran up to.

   "How was your weekend ?" She asked, smiling happily and I couldn't help but smile.

   "It was the same ,what about yours?" I said as we walked into school,she rolled her eyes at my reply.

     "It was so lovely and magical," she said dreamingly.

       "What happened ?" I asked.

    "Someone asked me out and I went on a date" 

       "Wow you didn't tell me" I said

   "I thought he was kidding, " Sarah replied.

     "Who's it?" I asked .

     "Anthony"

     "Your crush? That's awesome!" I squealed.

    "Shhh… don't shout." Sarah said.

    "Sorry I couldn't help it" I smiled,she has liked Anthony for so long but she just couldn't confess to him.

        "It's fine, I'm just happy that my 16 years old wish has come true. I thought I would turn 17 without having my first boyfriend," she said happily.

       My mum and Sarah's are best friends and they gave birth to us the same year but different months ,we have been best friends since kindergarten.

       "You should find yourself a pretty boy Anna,your 16 is when you become a young adult "Sarah said.

   " Who would want to date me?"I asked and she frowned.

"Don't talk down on yourself Anna, you are beautiful," she replied.

 "Hump"I said then I saw a familiar figure in front of me and I stood still while he smirked.

"Anna!" Vincent shouted.

    I turned around to walk in a different direction.

   "Don't even try it" Vincent shouted as he took strides towards me,it was meaningless running,because he got to me in a blink of an eye.

  "Trying to run?" He smirked.

  "Vincent hey how was your weekend?''Sarah asked him trying to distract him I guess.

   " I wasn't talking to you or do you need my attention? " he asked Sarah who gulped and shook her head. Vincent is the captain of our school football team,he has a well built body that's terrifying so no one dares him.

   "Vincent." I called slowly, afraid to look at him.

   "Who gave you the right to call my name ?" He asked as he smacked my head.

     "Argh!" I fell and Sarah ran to my side.

   "I just asked how your weekend was, you could just answer dummy," he said.

"What's going on there?" a teacher asked

 Oh my luck.

   "Nothing sir, she just fell, clumsy, Anna" Vincent told the teacher.

   "Get ready for class Vincent" the teacher told him and he glanced at me before leaving.I stood up and I saw Daniel in the corner staring as usual.

  "Older siblings are meant to take care of their younger ones" I remember mum's words.

                     Vincent is in the same class with my dear brother so I guess he is 18 as well. My brother never told him to stop bullying me. I know he won't.

    My highschool life was a mess because I was bullied often,like almost every single day ,and if you report them for bullying you just dug a hole for yourself.

              To them I was just an ugly freak.

        You know highschool is that time in life that matters the most,because it's like the bridge that connects us to the adult world and if that bridge is scattered or broken you won't survive that long,while I don't believe that I know I will get past this.

      I went to class as if nothing had happened.
