The journey felt endless.

They had been walking for miles through fields littered with fallen bodies—twisted forms scorched and frozen mid-scream. The destruction was unspeakable.

“This... this can’t all be from Charlene, can it?” ReNew asked softly, her voice trembling like a whisper in a storm.

“There’s too much carnage for one girl,” Argun replied, scanning the area for signs of an ambush. “But I won’t underestimate her.”

“Is she attacking them, or defending herself?” Odo muttered as he studied the ruins of a nearby demon outpost.

Argun crouched beside a charred corpse. “This one was hit in the back, mid-run. She’s not hunting them—they’re running from her.”

Destiny hovered slightly above the ground, eyes tracking the wisps of black smoke drifting toward a rocky slope. “Whatever’s happening, they know she’s here. They fear her.”

“They should,” Beth added, her voice firm. “She’s not a child anymore.”

“They’ll think twice before coming at us again,” Odo said with pride, puffing out his chest like a rooster before battle.

They arrived at the end of a crumbling bridge. On the other side, a yawning cave swallowed the path into darkness.

“Do you think she’s in there?” Beth asked, her hand clutching Odo’s sleeve.

“I’ll check. Everyone else, stay here,” Destiny ordered. Her wings shimmered as she flew into the mouth of the cave, casting divine light into the shadows. Blood covered the walls. The body of a massive, mangled dragon lay lifeless in the center.

She stepped out, pale and shaken. “She’s not here... but she left a mess. Another demon lord—slain.”

“That’s a good thing, right?” Odo grinned, already halfway into a victory dance.

“No,” Destiny said quietly. “It means she’s hurt—or close to it. We need to move faster.”

Beth gripped Odo’s arm. “She’s my granddaughter. We have to find her.”

Argun dipped his fingers in a pool of blood. “Still fresh. We’re close.”

“This blood isn’t hers,” Armaros confirmed, sniffing the air like a hound. “But I’ve got her scent now. We’ll track her. We’re at a fork—the black smoke leads left, her scent goes right.”

Destiny turned. “Then we split.”

“Don’t worry,” Odo said, stepping forward. “We’ll find her. I swear it on my life.”

Beth, ReNew, and Odo veered right, following Charlene’s trail. Destiny, Armaros, and Argun took to the skies, chasing the smoke. As they soared over snow-laced cliffs, Armaros paused mid-flight.

“I smell something else… Asbeel,” he growled.

“Asbeel?” Argun frowned. “But we sent Odo toward the black smoke… is that where it’s leading?”

Armaros landed, sniffing the burnt remains of a ram-horned demon. “He was here. Charlene, Seth, Idris—they all fought here. A serious battle.”

Their pace quickened.

“If Seth is with her,” Argun said, “then she’s safe.”

Destiny nodded and summoned a glowing leash of celestial light. “We’re going faster now. Armaros, this leash will anchor your path—don’t stop until you reach her. Argun, hold onto me. Tight.”

“I trust you,” he said, his voice deep and low.

“And I trust you.” She gave him a look that burned with something more than fire—hope, perhaps. Maybe love.

“Go!” she commanded.

In a flash, they bolted down the snow-dusted path, wind slicing past them like blades.

Meanwhile, deep in the woods on the other trail, Beth, Odo, and ReNew reached a looming castle half-swallowed by vines and rot. The black smoke slipped through the cracks of the ancient door.

ReNew stepped forward. “What are we waiting for? She could be inside!”

Beth froze. “No. We… we’ve been here before.”

“What do you mean you’ve been here?” ReNew demanded. “If she’s in there, I’m going in!”

Odo looked to Beth, then stepped forward with surprising calm. “We’re not going in there.”

“I’m not leaving her!” ReNew shouted. She yanked on the thick iron handle, struggling with the weight of the old door.

“You don’t understand!” Odo hissed. Then, with a sad shake of his head, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a cloth.

“Odo… no,” ReNew whispered, backing away.

He pressed the cloth to her face. She thrashed, but Beth held her shoulders down. Her eyes widened—betrayal, disbelief, and fear—all flashing at once before going limp.

“She’s out,” Odo confirmed.

The black smoke reformed into its true demonic shape, standing smug in the shadows.

“What have we done?” Beth whispered. “First Tamara, now this…”

“We made a deal,” Odo muttered, lifting ReNew by the arms. “We don’t have a choice.”

Beth picked up her legs. Together, they carried her into the castle.

The Imp greeted them, rubbing its hands gleefully. “Back so soon! Oh, Lord Belphegor will be most pleased. Right this way!”

It scampered through the hall and flung open a heavy door to a velvet-draped chamber.

“Lay her here. He’ll be with you soon!”

They placed ReNew on a lounge chair. Beth pulled a cover over her trembling legs.

“This is wrong,” she said. “We didn’t agree to this. We didn’t even do what he asked. He wanted a vessel, a human one.”

Odo unwrapped a small box and pulled out a glowing, gem-encrusted bracelet.

“This,” he said, slipping it onto ReNew’s wrist, “is a power-enhancer. Ten times more potent than anything she has now. It’ll protect her—buy her time. And I’m not leaving without the other one. Not again.”

“You’re risking everything.”

“Then let it be for something.”

A heavy door creaked open. Lord Belphegor entered, his horns brushing the top of the archway.

“Well, well,” he purred. “What a delightful surprise. And such a… pretty offering.”

“We brought you someone special,” Odo said with a bow. “She’s powerful. Unique.”

“Sleeping?” Belphegor asked, circling her. “She’s not broken, is she?”

“Just resting,” Odo replied. “She’ll wake soon.”

“Hm. We shall see. Fetch the other,” he barked at the Imp. “The human woman we’ve been holding—bring her now!”

The Imp scampered off.

Beth looked at Odo. “What now?”

“Now,” he said, eyes locked on ReNew’s unconscious form, “we wait. And we pray she wakes up before hell itself breaks loose.”

  • Beyond Fate   Is anybody home?

“Hello? Is anyone home?” Seth stepped into Argun's house, his voice echoing slightly in the still air. No response. He moved cautiously through the rooms until a soft noise led him toward the back. There, pacing behind a locked cage, was Asbeel. “Argun and the Queen—” Asbeel’s voice was sharp with frustration, “they’ve gone. To the demon domain. They're looking for your daughter.” Seth blinked. “Then why are you locked up? Why aren’t you helping them?” Asbeel launched into a long-winded tale about misunderstandings, warnings, and Argun being overly cautious. Seth didn’t wait for the conclusion. “Forget it.” He unlatched the cage with a grunt. “You’re coming with me.” He tossed together supplies—some gear, rations, a waterskin—and grabbed a familiar backpack. “Argun won’t mind.” As Seth headed toward the portal, it shimmered—and Idris popped out. “There you are,” Seth muttered. “Feeling better, I see.” “Don’t try to stop me.” Idris raised both hands. “Relax. “Ask your question, child!” the dragon commanded.Charlene floated in the air, facing the cave’s mouth. Either this demon didn’t know what she was—or didn’t care. Either way, it was going to die.She already made up her mind.“What is your name, demon?” Charlene asked, voice calm and disarmingly gentle, as if coaxing a frightened puppy from beneath a couch. The creature slithered deeper into the shadows of the cave, its voice echoing ominously. “My name, child? It’s Lord Leviathan.”That was all she needed to hear.Like a possessed banshee, Charlene charged into the cave, her energy blazing. The clash was immediate—slashing, slicing, metallic clangs and demonic howls filled the air. The sounds echoed out into the snowy landscape in a chaotic symphony of death. The battle raged for minutes until—Silence.Charlene emerged from the mouth of the cave soaked in blood, a jeweled crown gleaming on her head and emerald rings adorning her fingers. A bloody trail melted the snow behind her as

"You need to get up off that couch, now!" Destiny’s voice thundered through the room like a war drum. She was not in the mood for diplomacy today."Queen Destiny!" Torock fell to his knees so fast it looked like gravity betrayed him personally."What part of get up didn’t you understand?" Argun crossed the room in three long strides and bent to grab the trembling man’s arm, helping—or rather hauling—him to his feet.“I don’t have time for this,” Destiny said, her voice clipped and urgent. “We’ll talk later. Right now, I need you.”“Whatever I can do to help, I’ll do it,” Torock stammered, pressing his palms together in an awkward display of servitude. His whole body shook with anxiety.Tabitha, clearly unimpressed, stepped forward and folded her arms. “Can this wait? I was in the middle of a therapy session with him. And for once, I was making progress.”Destiny turned to her and smiled with polite dismissal. “Sorry, but no. We don’t have time to waste. I’ll explain everything later.

  • Beyond Fate   where's the little ones?

The demon domain was a chaos of shifting terrain—a scorched maze of rivers that bled into caverns, crumbling cliffs, and a desert that pulsed with heat like the breath of a furnace.“Where in the world do we even start looking for Charlene?” Argun asked, peering through the rippling portal. They looked toward the edge of outer darkness, where lakes of fire churned and portal after portal blinked open like angry eyes. All around them were scenes of torment—souls being dragged through ash and flame, their cries echoing with weeping and gnashing of teeth. The sounds could drive any mortal insane. But Destiny had been here before. She didn’t flinch. Her eyes scanned past the rivers of flame and writhing creatures, searching.Through all the chaos, Gigi pointed, her voice tight. “What’s that over there?”They turned to where she was indicating. Through the smoke and the smolder, a trail of unmoving bodies stretched along a rocky embankment.“See the ones between the torches?” she whispered

"Leave my dad alone!" Charlene screamed, blinking to her father's side. The demon was far stronger than the others they'd faced. Its smoke-like tentacles pinned Seth to the ground, trying to force their way into his body. The mark resisted possession, but Seth’s body was being crushed under the pressure.A separate wall of tentacles barred Heth from intervening.Charlene’s instincts kicked in. She summoned the energy orbs she’d trained with earlier and launched them like a barrage from a celestial M-16. The blasts slammed into the smoke tentacles.“Hold on, Dad! I’m coming!”She pushed forward, pouring everything into breaking through the barrier.High above, Odo transformed mid-flight. A fiery arrow formed around his body as he shouted, “Lightning Arrow!” He descended like a meteor, crashing into the tentacles with an explosion of blinding light. It lit up the sky like a miniature sun.At the same time, Charlene broke through the smoke wall and dove toward Seth, sliding across the sc

  • Beyond Fate   early rising

Chapter: Early RisingThe morning air was still thick with dew when Seth and Charlene wrapped up their early workout. ReNew and Heth arrived shortly after, just in time for an unplanned mission—one that involved family and, hopefully, breakfast.“It’s really early,” Charlene grumbled, rubbing her arms. “The first orb is barely even in the sky.”As if on cue, a rooster crowed loudly in the distance.ReNew winced. “Are we seriously doing this? Should we be here? I mean… last time we just showed up, remember?” She leaned in closer. “Are we trying to get shot?”Seth chuckled, unbothered. “They’re not that bad, girls. This is a working farm—they’ve probably been up for hours.”“Doing what, exactly?” ReNew asked, eyeing the quiet barn suspiciously. The girls and Heth started strolling toward the house.“Where are you going?” Seth asked, confused.“To get breakfast, of course,” Charlene answered flatly, brows furrowed.“I said they’re working. On the farm,” Seth said, pointing toward the lar

  • Beyond Fate   she's not in the mood!

She wasn’t in the mood to talk. Not today. ReNew had stayed locked away in her room, silent and simmering. But Charlene? She showed up, just like she promised—ready to meet her dad.Seth was already waiting for her, seated at the edge of the glowing lagoon inside the cave. His shirt was off, revealing the tight muscle cords across his back, and he hummed softly while stretching, legs spread on the mat beneath him. He didn’t turn when she approached.“Join me,” he said simply, patting the mat beside him.Charlene sat down, unsure of what they were doing, but willing to follow. She tilted her head as she watched.“Do what I’m doing,” Seth said calmly. “Breathe slowly and steadily. Inhale deep… now exhale. Good. This helps oxygenate your muscles and prevents them from cramping.”She mirrored his movements, mimicking his slow stretches.“Stretching,” he continued, “isn't just about flexibility. It’s about control. Grace. Power. Exhale as you deepen into the stretch. Hold it for at least t

  • Beyond Fate   Explain yourself young lady!

Seth looked at her with a storm of concern flashing across his face."CHARLENE, WHAT DID YOU DO?" he demanded. She froze, caught off guard by his tone. “I taught him a lesson. That’s all!” she said, a little too defensively.Seth’s eyes scanned her—sharp, observant. Then he noticed it. Her soul—ReNew—wasn’t with her. That might explain it. ReNew had been in the cave ever since they’d left his parents’ house.“Tell me you didn’t kill him!” Seth choked out, his voice cracking. He gripped the broken necklace in his hand like it was a lifeline. “Tell me you didn’t do something irreversible just to get this stone. Answer me, Princess. Please!”“Dad, seriously? The plan was to get them to give us the hidden place stones, remember?” Charlene replied. “So we could understand what he’s up to and what their return really means. And I did just that.”Seth looked like he’d aged ten years in a second. “I understand the assignment,” he said, “but Charlene—answer me, please.”She waved him off, tryi
