Chapter 2
VINCENZO POV
I had all the intentions to see where this little game would take me, and I had all the time in the world to accompany me as well.
And I hated to admit it, but the lad was right.
His sister was one hell of a looker.
A plump little thing not any inch about 5 feet, with a whole bush of hair on her head, hips, and curves no amount of money and surgeries could ever achieve. Even beneath the hideous apron, you could tell she was one hell of a model of perfection.
An epitome of a woman’s beauty.
I arched a brow at Kaizen- I recalled my men calling him that- prompting his lips to start spilling.
“See? I wasn’t lying when I told you she is a looker. She could be a perfect fit for pandemonium.” His voice echoed around the room, bouncing off the walls of dense silence that reigned.
My eyes skitted to her.
I watched as her eyes grew wider than the squidfish’s, her chest rising and falling with rapid breaths. A mixture of emotions played on her face, scrunching her perfect features.
Confusion, pure, betrayal… it looked like I was watching a fucking movie.
“W-wh… Kaizen?” Her voice. Ah… Smoother than butter. What in the hell is a girl like her doing in this gutter?
She should be out there for the world to see, for millions to admire. Heck. I was even tempted to find ways to put her on the runway and have millions admire her.
“You don’t need to worry about anything, Nina. He will protect you. And the money? You won’t have to worry about anything. You will make more than you make at this shitty pub. Isn’t it a good deal?” He said all that while facing his sister, hands clutching her lean shoulders and rocking her softly.
A lone tear rolled down her face when the gravity of the situation descended on her with a crushing weight.
Everyone with eyes could see as her whole entire world came undone before us…
Just like that, his own flesh and blood had sold him.
“Kyomi.” Her name rolled off smoothly on my tongue.
Goodness. Even her simple name sounded like something the angels sang when they were in a mood of praise.
I took a dangerous step forward, and her head turned to the side with utmost defeat, hooded and heavy with betrayal.
I hated that she looked so broken when all of this was just the beginning. I expected a fight from her; but her slumped shoulders told me she had no energy left in her to fight! And honestly, I didn’t know how that made me feel!
“What say you?” I rolled my shoulders before squaring them, then pinned her down with my hard gaze.
Her eyes skitted to her brother before flying back to me, and then she swallowed down the visible lump in her throat.
“Whatever sin did he commit?” Her voice came out low, all was gone from her body.
I turned my head to Terrell, one of my trusted soldiers and the one man who was able to track down the thief who had been stealing from us for the past six months.
At first, it was small petty things… A few bags of white powder disappearing, some cash from the register… A few things I turned a blind eye to. Until he got greedier and greedier, and he started taking more than he could handle.
“Your little brother has been stealing from us for months. He has managed to steal 50k worth of product from us.” Terrell filled her with the information, and her eyes grew even more glassy!
She turned to her brother who was now paper-white pale.
He even went ahead by dropping his arm from her and tried to shield his face from her.
“50 grand? What did you do with it Kaizen?” Kyomi’s voice came out harsher this time, more stoic and even more tense. I could tell that the revelation shook her even further.
Kaizen decided to turn a solid deaf ear, pretending that she didn’t ask her anything. Heck, by just looking, you could even tell he didn’t consider his sister anything but a stranger he shared a DNA with. I mean he didn’t even hesitate to sell him off to a renowned mob just to pay off his debt.
Yet there she was shedding tears for him…
And they say blood is thicker than water!
I beg to fucking differ.
“Asking questions is futile, love. Your fate is sealed. You are coming with me.” The words left my mouth low and threatening. She pinched her eyes close, tears pouring down her face before she gave a curt nod.
After taking a stilling breath, she reached inside her bra, pulled a few notes before pulling Kaizen’s hand, then placed a few worn-out dollar bills in her hand.
“There are some leftovers in the fridge. Heat them when you get home. I was planning to take the car down to the mechanic, I guess that’s up to you now. The keys are in my locker..” With that, she dropped his hand and walked to stop before me, then looked at me with tear-stained eyes.
I couldn’t help but smile even though something chaffed at me down and low inside.
She was so defenseless, so meek, and easily breakable. She didn’t even know what it was she walking into, yet the resolution on her face told me everything I needed to know.
I may be wrong, but my entire life has taught me to know strength when I see one.
Life may not have been fair to her, but this woman wore armor of bloody steel!
With that, I yanked my black tie off my neck and held it up for her.
She eyed it like I had just handed her a vial of poison and demanded she drink it!
“Wear it around your eyes,” I commanded. The question became bold on her face, but she swallowed every single one of them down before taking it and securing it around her eyes.
The Pandemonium was not a secret. But I was willing to take this little game a little further.
I nodded to Terrell, and she took her by her arm before directing her out the door, leaving me with the dick of a boy who was more proud that any other thing for what he had just done.
“So…” He beamed, jumping on his feet, undoubtedly with the idea of going to spend those last bills his sister just sacrificed. Making me hate him even further.
I was taught from a young age that loyalty comes before everything. Leave loyalty… Family fights for family. Family kills for family. That was etched deep inside me from a young age by two men I followed with all my heart!
And Turantello Syndicate was my family; the one I would go straight to hell if I have to… and yet this motherfucker broke one code that ran deep in the blood of the Syndicate.
And he thought I would take him under my wing?
I would rather hump a trash can!
“When should I start working?” He asked with a smile. I could see his ego pumped up, feeling all chuffed up that he had just done something so right in his life.
Yet he had done one thing that had just dug his own grave. Cancel that, he dug his own grave a long time ago, and now he just landed right into it and covered his body with dirt.
“You know, one of the important things in my life, my cartel, and my syndicate, is family. You steal for your family. You kill for family. You curse for family. One thing you do not do is rat family. Let alone sell family for your own selfish desires.” I let the angry tone and the harshness of my words wash over him, settle inside of him and let him know just what kind of a sick fuck he was for selling his sister.
Glad he was a smart kid. He knew right then what I meant. I could tell by the fear that coated his gaze.
“And what your sister just did right now proved her to be even more valuable than you could ever be,” I announced. His face bunched up in disgust.
“You mean she could pull shit better than me? I am a man. And she is nothing but a pussy and big tits. She can’t do shit except wind on your d…” I didn’t let him finish. I couldn’t let him.
I couldn’t stomach such disrespect. Not at me. Gah! I have handled far worse than a teen with a bruised ego wanting to walk down a path he wasn’t prepared for.
It was the disrespect towards his sister that undid the last strand of control.
With that, I planted a slack between his eyes, then watched as he went limp and dropped before my feet.
With one annoyed sigh, I spun around and left!
Chapter 3KYOMI POVBetrayal. Defeat. Pure terror. The whirlwind of emotions and uncertainty was spiraling inside of me, hitting all corners of my soul like a raging tornado, dizzying me. Blindfolded and tugged in the backseat of an undoubtedly luxurious car, my nose flared at the assault of rich leather, expensive smoke, and a hint of that custom cologne that seemed to lie to my subconscious: whispering hope and light when my conscious felt the impending doom. My mind drifted to the darkest of thoughts that had managed to infest inside of me.My life flashed before my eyes as the promise of death descended heavily on my shoulders. I remembered the times I used to cuddle my brother when he caught a fever, the times we used to curl up in front of the fireplace at our parents’ house, reminiscing of all the good times that were long gone, swallowed and buried beneath the dark cloud of time. Chapter 4 KYOMI POV I lost the imaginary map of the house we were in as we continued maneuvering around what felt like an endless labyrinth of corridors. I thought relief would wash over me when we finally came to a rocking halt. The man who carried me like I weighed not more than 5 kg shifted me in his hold until my whole, barely-there weight was leaning on his right arm, then nestled with what I could only assume was the door. My suspicions were proven right when a soft click rechoted around the silence that wrapped us in a vice, the lock bolting into place. My senses were so heightened I felt everything and nothing all at once. And all of that was dizzying. The door was kicked open, and we stepped into a warm cozy room. I wondered if it was his office, because not only did it smell like him, but it was quiet than the rest of the house. I was not left guessing for long, because I was deposited onto the softest, smoothest surface. Horror licked all over my insides when my mi
Chapter 5VINCENZO POVWatching the emotions play on her face felt like watching a soap opera. The face contorted with defeat and surrender, but her eyes sparkled with rebellion. I have witnessed men beg for their life, fear dancing within then and the guarantee of impending doom holding them immobile. I have also witnessed others as they stilled themselves, refusing to show any act of cowardice. But I have never seen the two emotions, as contradictory as they are, morphed into one. It was a sight to behold. I tilted my head to the side and waited, silently telling her I did not have all the time in the world to waste. Resignation flashed across her face, a lone tear accompanying the defeat. She scooted closer and raised her hand. Her unsteady, unsure hands wrapped around my engorged cock, and electricity shot right to my brain. I gritted my teeth, then tightened my grip on her hair. This little game; her tears and her reluctance… Every damn thing was messing with my mind. Not
Chapter 1KYOMI POVThe sky had been a blanket of grey when I walked in, angry black clouds pregnant of rain hovering above the sad earth. A tell-tale of the angry splatters that hit the glass windows with sheer brutality. My mind drifted to my run-down cabbie, and I knew for a fact that by the time my shift ended, the front of the car would be so drenched I would have a hard time finding the paddles in the pool of water. I made a quick math in my head: a few dollar bills I'd managed to save plus this month's salary would be enough to run it by the mechanic. That’s if Kaizen wouldn’t run into some sort of shitty problem at his school that demanded me bail his ass out of jail. But really, the little baby needed some TLC and it had been so long since she had received one. “SEVEN MEGA PINTS FOR TABLE 12!” John shouted from the register, his loud voice booming over the loud music that played so loud even my heartbeat was in sync with the beat. Thankfully, his voice brought me back to re
