Freya’s POV:

I gently placed the clipboards on a table, took off my clothes and shoes before jumping on my bed. It was a very hectic day, and I could feel every part of me begging for a rest.

I switched off the light, and pulled the blanket over me. I laid there for about an hour, my eyes were widely opened, and not even an ounce of sleep graced my eyes.

My mind drifted back to the day. The mate bond. I turned on the bed as I fell deeper into my thoughts. The son of the man who killed my parents was my mate. Wouldn’t I betray my parents if I accepted the mate bond?

“I think they would want you to be happy.” My wolf, Vanya, said to me, and my face wrinkled.

“You think?”

“Yeah…I mean… they wouldn’t want you to indulge yourself in hatred. They would want the best for you wherever they are.” She continued.

I took a deep breath. “So, you want me to accept the mate bond?”

“If you truly love him. Why not?” She replied with a yawn.

“Don’t let grudges of the past stand in your way with Declan. Moreover, he was just a child like you when the incident happened. He probably knew nothing about it then.” Her voice came out with a deep hint of sleep, and I knew she was about to fall asleep. She slept a lot.

I sighed. It was not that easy. I was also a child, and I had to pass through all of that - the sharp glint on the blade as it thrusted through my father’s neck- my mother’s unending cries as I was dragged away.

A sudden sharp pain pierced through my heart. I held my chest immediately and let out a low groan. It was the mate bond. It was really tugging at me. Declan didn’t seem to be much like his father. The way he covered up for Quinn- not even his father could do such a thing.

I rolled on my bed. “Maybe Vanya was right. Maybe my parents would want me to be happy, and would want me to accept the mate bond.” I thought to myself, biting my lower lip as I stared into the dark room.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't realize when sleep got the better side of me.

The next morning came by quickly. I yawned lazily on my bed, stared at my bedclock and laid still like a fetus waiting for its due date. I laid in that position for about thirty minutes. It was a Saturday morning, and it was an off day at work, which I spend a larger percentage of in my room, minding my business.

A knock landed on my door. I stared at the door immediately, wondering who it could be. It was past eight in the morning. Leni would have gone to work. Quinn would probably be assisting his mum with the household chores. I had no other friend, and it made me wonder even more who the person could be.

The knock sounded the second time. I got up from the bed, tied the towel firmly on my body, with my upper chest, hands and legs visible. I walked towards the door and pulled it open.

My eyes popped wide and my jaw dropped. “De… Declan!” My blood pumped at double speed as I rested my eyes at him. He just stood there, lips widening and eyes gleaming with admiration as he ran them over my body.

I instantly crossed my arms across my chest. Turned my back at him, and shut the door with a kick.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, trying to find my voice.

“To see you. I promised I would come back.” He replied. I could still sense the admiration in his voice. I dashed into the bathroom, wiped my face, then grabbed a dress from my wardrobe, and hurriedly slid it down my body.

“So you came this early morning just to see me?” I asked as I opened the door again. I raised my left eyebrow as I leaned against the door.

He said nothing. Rather, he looked at my dress and smirked. “Perfect!” He exclaimed.

My brows furrowed in confusion. I moved away from the door, rolling my eyes on my dress.

“What did you mean perfect?”

“I am taking you somewhere. To train you to become stronger and control your wolf.” He muttered, and my face lit up in excitement. I have always been so passionate about training, but for some reasons, the pack rules didn’t allow females to train.

“I thought you also didn’t support women training?” I asked with a tease.

“Why won’t I? I didn’t make those rules, you know.” He shrugged. He extended his hand and reached for mine.

“I came here in secret. Let’s go before the spy finds out. The car is parked very close to here.” He scoffed. A low smile escaped me. I knew he was referring to Vanessa as the spy. It was still surprising that he chose me over the daughter of an influential man.

He gently pulled me, and walked me to the car. He opened the door for me, and I smiled inwardly. I never knew he had this gentle side of his.

The drive to the training ground was filled with live and fun chattings, and at that moment, I seemed to have forgotten my last night’s worries, that he was the blood of my sworn enemy.

We got to the training ground not quite long. He fetched a weapon and handed it over to me.

“Here. You aim the mouth at the target, and press…” He pressed his chest against my back, gently held my hand and wrapped his palm around it. My hand had never felt so warm before.

My heart raced as his scent filled my nostrils. I could feel his heartbeats, gently pulsating against my back. I flung my gaze away from the weapon I was holding and fixed it on his face. Our eyes met, and locked. Hot blood coursed through my veins with double speed. Beads of sweat began to form on my forehead, and my face turned red. He was strikingly handsome. I could’t deny that.

He maintained a straight gaze at me, not flinching his eyelids for a second. I began to shrink under his gaze, and my palms became sweaty and itchy that I struggled to hold a firm grip on the weapon.

His lips curled up into a smile. “Why are you blushing?” He suddenly asked. His pair of seductive eyes staring into my heart.

I immediately felt my face with my palm. It was indeed hot. I had blushed because of him! I instantly cut off my gaze on him, my eyes moving in embarassment.

I cleared my throat. “Let’s… get back to the training.” I managed to say, adjusting myself in front of him.

He smiled.

“As you wish.” The training begun, and it only took me a while to master everything he had shown me.

“You are a natural. You are talented at this.” He commented, his palms colliding in an applause.

“Aim over there!” He said excitedly, pointing at a direction.

I instanty did as I was told. I pointed the weapon at the direction, pressed the recoil, and…

“BOOM!” A body thud against the ground. Declan and I instantly glanced at each other. Our hearts jumping into our mouths.

Declan’s POV:A rush of hot blood coursed through my nerves as my eyes caught a hold of Vanessa. She stood right beside the school’s gate, lips pouted, and eyelids furrowed. She folded her arms across her chest, and her legs vibrated on the spot.A smirk slowly spread across her face, after which she turned to take her leave. I knew her presence meant nothing but trouble. So, I turned to Freya.“I have to go now.” I said to her. My eyes drifted in between hers.“Quinn…” She mumbled with a breaking voice. She grabbed my hand, and I could see fear written boldly in her eyes. I smiled. It was the first time she touched me willingly.“He is going to be fine. I promise.” I assured her. “I know you are scared of Vanessa reporting about the incident to the Alpha. So, I have to leave now. At least, before she makes things so bad.” She nodded her head, and then uttered a ‘thanks’.I gently grabbed the back of her head with my hand, my smile widening as I moved closer so she could inhale my sc

Freya’s POV:I pulled Quinn up, and held his hand tightly as Declan stormed towards us. His hand trembled, vibrating nervously in my grip. I gently shoved him behind me.“It’s going to be well.” I muttered to him. Declan was now about ten feet away. I swallowed hard, preparing my mind for what’s about to come next. To my greatest shock, Declan winked as he walked past us without saying a word. My eyes followed him, and I wondered what he was up to. He walked into the chancellor’s office, and about five minutes later, Brett was summoned into the chancellor’s office. I took a quick glance at Quinn, who was still trembling nervously. Other students stared and pointed fingers at him.“It’s going to be fine.”“Is he a beast? How could he push Brett so hard against the wall?” A female student yelled. I flung my eyes immediately at her, and before I could say a thing, others also began yelling, and the situation intensified in seconds.I pulled Quinn into my embrace, covered his ears with

  • Beyond The Pack's Judgement    King's Academy

Quinn’s POV:It was a particularly sunny day. The sun shone brightly that even the silver-colored asbestos roof radiated immense heat. I had a very low tolerance to heat, and the fan in the room was doing close to nothing to help the situation.Professor Madelyn stood in front of the class. Her eyes scanned through the textbook on her hand. “We are done with algebra. We will be moving to Indices.” Her voice came out and the whole class buzzed almost immediately. It turned out I was not the only one who hated algebra. The class went on for about an hour, and I was not sure I heard a single thing the professor said throughout the session. My mind drifted away. To Freya. I wondered if she was being bullied at the moment. Truth is, there’s no difference between her and I. I’ve also been a victim of bullies all my life. I was just an omega who attended a school meant for werewolf Alphas and probably some Betas who had the strong connection to enter the academy. I was offered to study in t

  • Beyond The Pack's Judgement    Watching Eyes

Freya’s POV:“Do you know how expensive those clipboards are, Freya? This is the second time you are breaking them.” Gus, my boss screamed as he heightened his steps towards me. “Oh! I…I am sorry. I will visit the store now to replace them.” I stammered. I hurriedly wiped the sweat that formed on my forehead and bent down to clear the broken pieces when Gus suddenly rubbed a wipe against my feet.“Look at you. You didn't even know you were bleeding. Always take care of yourself, Freya.” He mumbled with a sigh.“Thanks, boss.”“Take some money from the safe, get the clipboards and find something to eat also.” He said as he dumped the blood-stained wipe in the bin. He turned on the tap and rinsed his hand. He threw a quick glance at me, and sighed once again.“Look, Freya. I don’t know what your relationship is with the alpha prince, but I am sure you know what the stakes are, right?” “Yeah… I am just…I am fine. Thank you.” I managed to say, forcing a smile on my lips.He nodded his h

The Alpha prince kicked the pack’s general for a bad blood.” Rhys said as we walked down the lane leading to the autoshop. “I don’t care.” I mumbled. I suddenly stopped and turned to face him. “Wait. Whose side are you on?” I asked, and his eyes popped at my question. “What? Your side obviously.” He replied immediately. His head moved rhythmically on his neck. “It doesn’t look like it.” I paused, shaking my head at him. “And don’t you ever, I mean ever call her bad blood again!” I roared at him. I could see shock written all over his face because of the way I yelled at him, but I wasn’t sorry. I turned and continued my walk down to the autoshop. I heard Rhys sigh, and he began to quicken his pace to catch up with me. “I am sorry, man. I just don’t want you to forget who you are and put the whole pack at risk.” He said, and a heavy sigh escaped me. “Don’t you get it, Rhys? Freya is also on
