Quinn’s POV:

It was a particularly sunny day. The sun shone brightly that even the silver-colored asbestos roof  radiated immense heat. I had a very low tolerance to heat, and the fan in the room was doing close to nothing to help the situation.

Professor Madelyn stood in front of the class. Her eyes scanned through the textbook on her hand. “We are done with algebra. We will be moving to Indices.” Her voice came out and the whole class buzzed almost immediately. It turned out I was not the only one who hated algebra.

The class went on for about an hour, and I was not sure I heard a single thing the professor said throughout the session. My mind drifted away. To Freya. I wondered if she was being bullied at the moment. Truth is, there’s no difference between her and I. I’ve also been a victim of bullies all my life. I was just an omega who attended a school meant for werewolf Alphas and probably some Betas who had the strong connection to enter the academy. I was offered to study in the school after I won an essay competition and the school’s chancellor commended my brilliance. I thought it’d be fun, but my first day in the school turned out to be my worst day ever.

The deafening stares from the Alphas, the grunts from the betas, the smirks and laughter from the girls who were in favor of the school’s big guys. Then, there was Brett and his guys. Above all were the humans, who were about eighty percent of the school’s population. The unspoken rule for a werewolf is to never allow the humans know of their identity, It was a top secret that wolves were living and studying among them.

“Grimes?”

“Grimes?”

“Quinn!” I heard the professor’s voice thunder, and I rose to my feet immediately. The class burst into a round of mocking laughter, and a guy even threw a paper ball against my head.

“You did not seem to pay attention to my lecture, Quinn Grimes. You care to explain why?” She said, her eyes pierced directly into mine, and I was forced to stare at my shoes instead. Professor Madelyn was a well-known disciplinarian whom you wouldn’t want to mess with.

“Pass me your book.” She muttered, dropping her textbook with a very loud sound that sparked fear into me.

That was it. I was done for. Brett had torn my notes, and I have not been able to complete the notes since then.

“He doesn’t even have a note. All he knows is to hang around with bad friends.” Cole, one of Brett’s lackeys, chuckled, and the whole class giggled except for me and the professor who didn’t find it funny.

I knew he meant Freya when he said bad friend, and I had this urge to explain to the professor that Cole and Brett had torn my books, but I swallowed the urge instead. It will be a waste of time to explain to the human professor and would only bring Freya more trouble.

“I…I am sorry, ma’am.” My voice came out low and sober. I noticed some dirt under my fingernails and I began to pick at them instead.

The professor scoffed. “Report to the chancellor.” She said coldly.

My blood ran cold.

“Sorry?”

“You heard me, young man!” She replied, with her expression cold and sharp.

Going to the chancellor’s office was a nightmare for most students. The lightest punishment you could receive was to copy the school’s hundred-page handbook a hundred times after which you would hardly feel your wrist

The professor had made up her mind, and there was no way I could convince her to let go of the matter, so I walked out of the class without saying a thing, and headed to the chancellor’s office.

I had only taken my fifth turn to the chancellor’s office when a familiar voice rang in my ears. “Oh! Isn’t this the traitor’s lackey?” I knocked my leg over a wooden stick which was suddenly placed by Brett and I went face-down to the floor. My face got stuck in the mud that I guessed was made by them, and I could hardly breathe. I forced my head out of the mud, and faced Brett who was standing tall in front of me. Five guys stood behind him. They were all werewolves.

Brett suddenly grabbed me by my hair and yanked my head sideways. Lots of students had now gathered around the scene, giggling and cheering for Brett. To them, I was just a student who didn’t deserve to attend the same school as them.

“If you won’t stay away from Freya, I promise you will get more than this in the future.” He smirked, and suddenly forced my mouth open with his strong hands.

I struggled to free myself from his grip, but one of his guys instantly held my legs, while another carried a bag of dirt and poured it all over my face. Toilet papers, food wastes…all over my body.

Brett then released me with a huge force that sent me knocking the back of my head against a stone.

Suddenly, I felt a strange wave of energy surge up inside of me. It was as cold as the deepest part of the ocean. My claws began to protrude. Furs began to form all over my body. I tried to control myself but it was beyond what I could control. It was as if hitting my head on the stone triggered something inside of me.

My heart was suddenly filled with hatred for Brett and his lackeys, filled with vengeance for Freya, and the energy surged up the more those thoughts flowed across my mind. I was shifting into my wolf and I couldn’t stop it from happening.

Uncontrollably, I charged towards Brett and yanked him against the school’s sports building as if he was a little piece of paper. The humans nearby were thrown into a big pot of turmoil. Terrified, they all yelled and ran and everywhere became plunged with Chaos.

I took the initiative and dashed towards the school’s gate where I unexpectedly bumped into Freya.

“Brett!” She called, grabbing me by my hand.

My heart was still racing and I struggled to catch my breath.

“It’s okay.” She mumbled. She pulled me into a hug and patted my back.

Yeah. It was okay, or so I thought as my eyes made contact with him. My heart began to race faster than before, and I shook my head nervously.

“No. It…it’s not.” I stuttered. I crashed to my knees. My head hung as he quickened his pace towards us.

I was done for!

Freya’s POV:I gently placed the clipboards on a table, took off my clothes and shoes before jumping on my bed. It was a very hectic day, and I could feel every part of me begging for a rest.I switched off the light, and pulled the blanket over me. I laid there for about an hour, my eyes were widely opened, and not even an ounce of sleep graced my eyes. My mind drifted back to the day. The mate bond. I turned on the bed as I fell deeper into my thoughts. The son of the man who killed my parents was my mate. Wouldn’t I betray my parents if I accepted the mate bond?“I think they would want you to be happy.” My wolf, Vanya, said to me, and my face wrinkled.“You think?”“Yeah…I mean… they wouldn’t want you to indulge yourself in hatred. They would want the best for you wherever they are.” She continued.I took a deep breath. “So, you want me to accept the mate bond?” “If you truly love him. Why not?” She replied with a yawn.“Don’t let grudges of the past stand in your way with Decla

Declan’s POV:A rush of hot blood coursed through my nerves as my eyes caught a hold of Vanessa. She stood right beside the school’s gate, lips pouted, and eyelids furrowed. She folded her arms across her chest, and her legs vibrated on the spot.A smirk slowly spread across her face, after which she turned to take her leave. I knew her presence meant nothing but trouble. So, I turned to Freya.“I have to go now.” I said to her. My eyes drifted in between hers.“Quinn…” She mumbled with a breaking voice. She grabbed my hand, and I could see fear written boldly in her eyes. I smiled. It was the first time she touched me willingly.“He is going to be fine. I promise.” I assured her. “I know you are scared of Vanessa reporting about the incident to the Alpha. So, I have to leave now. At least, before she makes things so bad.” She nodded her head, and then uttered a ‘thanks’.I gently grabbed the back of her head with my hand, my smile widening as I moved closer so she could inhale my sc

Freya’s POV:I pulled Quinn up, and held his hand tightly as Declan stormed towards us. His hand trembled, vibrating nervously in my grip. I gently shoved him behind me.“It’s going to be well.” I muttered to him. Declan was now about ten feet away. I swallowed hard, preparing my mind for what’s about to come next. To my greatest shock, Declan winked as he walked past us without saying a word. My eyes followed him, and I wondered what he was up to. He walked into the chancellor’s office, and about five minutes later, Brett was summoned into the chancellor’s office. I took a quick glance at Quinn, who was still trembling nervously. Other students stared and pointed fingers at him.“It’s going to be fine.”“Is he a beast? How could he push Brett so hard against the wall?” A female student yelled. I flung my eyes immediately at her, and before I could say a thing, others also began yelling, and the situation intensified in seconds.I pulled Quinn into my embrace, covered his ears with

Freya’s POV:“Do you know how expensive those clipboards are, Freya? This is the second time you are breaking them.” Gus, my boss screamed as he heightened his steps towards me. “Oh! I…I am sorry. I will visit the store now to replace them.” I stammered. I hurriedly wiped the sweat that formed on my forehead and bent down to clear the broken pieces when Gus suddenly rubbed a wipe against my feet.“Look at you. You didn't even know you were bleeding. Always take care of yourself, Freya.” He mumbled with a sigh.“Thanks, boss.”“Take some money from the safe, get the clipboards and find something to eat also.” He said as he dumped the blood-stained wipe in the bin. He turned on the tap and rinsed his hand. He threw a quick glance at me, and sighed once again.“Look, Freya. The Alpha prince kicked the pack’s general for a bad blood.” Rhys said as we walked down the lane leading to the autoshop. “I don’t care.” I mumbled. I suddenly stopped and turned to face him. “Wait. Whose side are you on?” I asked, and his eyes popped at my question. “What? Your side obviously.” He replied immediately. His head moved rhythmically on his neck. “It doesn’t look like it.” I paused, shaking my head at him. “And don’t you ever, I mean ever call her bad blood again!” I roared at him. I could see shock written all over his face because of the way I yelled at him, but I wasn’t sorry. I turned and continued my walk down to the autoshop. I heard Rhys sigh, and he began to quicken his pace to catch up with me. “I am sorry, man. I just don’t want you to forget who you are and put the whole pack at risk.” He said, and a heavy sigh escaped me. “Don’t you get it, Rhys? Freya is also on
