Rosa reached out for the tablet, but Bonnie pulled it back.

"Is that recent?" Pierce asked, "When was that taken?"

Rosa's legs weakened. She collapsed onto the chair beside Marcus's bed, her hands covering her face. Tears rolled down her face.

"She's alive," Rosa choked "Oh God, Pierce, she's alive. Our baby is alive."

Pierce couldn't move. Couldn't think. Couldn't process the terror that Elena lived, rage at what was being asked, terror at what would happen if they refused.
