Chapter 1 - Divorce Agreement

“I’m pregnant?” Cameron asked her attending doctor with wide eyes, her trembling hands lying weakly on her stomach.

“You are one week pregnant to be exact” the attending doctor said, pushing up his glasses while looking at the document on his hands and stared at the woman in front of him that have no husband at the side to accompany her, the attending doctor once again glanced at the document on his hands, not intending to poke his nose at this pregnant woman, not intending to act nosy.

Cameron went silent for a long time, her eyelashes hung low, falling into a deep thought.

Minutes passed with only silence and turning of pages filling up the quiet obgyn room, the attending doctor raised his head, visible surprise fleeting across his eyes as if he heard some unbelievable things coming from his patient mouth.

“What?”

Cameron replied quietly as before, “I want to get an abortion”

The attending doctor really heard such a young woman wanting to have an abortion but its not that new for him so, after an initial surprise, he coughed and proceeded on to say seriously.

“If you want to get an abortion in such a young age then you can but you must follow the procedure for an abortion in our hospital”

Cameron only heard ‘follow procedure to get an abortion’ filtering out all unnecessary wordings as she nodded her head.

“What procedure?” her breath was somewhat shaky but she still forcefully suppressed it so that the attending doctor can’t sense any abnormality from her.

The attending doctor once again pushes his glasses up, “The father of the child must also agree and sign an agreement for your abortion”

Cameron's face went pale, her heart felt cold at the thought of her husband cold and arrogant face disdaining the truth of her being pregnant, her quiet composure changed as a bitter smile made way onto her lips, “Can I just sign it myself? It’s my body that is undergoing abortion not his after all”

The attending doctor frowned, his face stern, reprimanding Cameron for what she said, “You are only one of the party that made the baby, the father of the baby must also be present and sign the agreement so there will be no casualties on our side when we performed an operation for abortion on you in the future!”

Cameron looked at the inspection report and the abortion agreement on her hands, standing near the emergency exit, she went silent for a long time. Her shoulders were trembling slightly as her breathing were shaky, reluctantly taking out her phone from her bag, she dialed a phone number she thought she would never dial again because of an argument.

“Are you going to sign the divorce paper now?” Noah's cold voice was what she heard first after the call connected.

Cameron eyes were red, biting her lower lip to suppress the sob that was about to escape from her mouth, she slightly pulled the phone away from her ears as she took a deep breath to calm down before she give her response so that Noah on the other side of the phone would not sarcastically say something after a frown of confusion with her sudden silence for a long time.

“Can we meet?” Cameron's slightly shaky voice echoed, letting Noah knit his brows in irritation.

“Why? I am busy here so I will just send my secretary there for you to sign the divorce agreement. Where are you?” Noah coldly declined Cameron's offer for a meet-up quickly.

Cameron knows that Noah is not that busy, he was just saying that for the reason that someone was making him busy.

Listening to that familiar coquettish voice that pestered Noah to hang up the phone, Cameron palm around her phone tightened, biting her scarred lower lip, she went on to say, emphasizing “You need to be there… It’s important”

Noah frowned but still acquiesce when the woman on his lap started on making a fuss once again.

“I will meet up with you in the Civil Affair Bureau tomorrow at 9 o'clock, don’t be late!” after saying that, Noah hung up the phone with his own initiative, not waiting to get any response from her after that at all.

Cameron remained in her posture near the emergency exit, her head hung low, letting her long straight hair cover her face, not giving anyone a chance to discern what kind of emotion she was currently having.

After a while, as if tired from that same posture, Cameron straightened up, walking towards the exit and left the hospital to go home.

A month ago, the once pampered little princess of the Dela Cruz family was left in a sorry state, as Noah Everest first love returned. The Dela Cruz family went bankrupt, her father died by car accident, her mother commited suicided after hearing the news of her father death.

That day, she arrived in the pouring rain in front of her husband, soaked to the bone, but she saw that he was making meals for Aubrey, her husband first love. They are quite intimate.

His ten fingers wet, from a high position, the arrogant and cold Noah Everest whom she married for three years had never even made her a bowl of simple noodles or an egg and rice combination, but now he was making meals for another woman that is not his wife.

Looking at Aubrey, who bore some resemblance to herself, with her delicate little face carrying a hint of coquettishness, standing next to Noah, it seemed as if they were a newlywed couple in their own home.

And her, the legitimate wife, became an outsider.

Cameron wanted to ask him to help her through this hurdle, through this biggest challenge she encountered in her life, wanted him to save their company from being bankrupt. But when she thought that he would help her for the sake of her being an obedient wife for him in those three years...

"Let's get a divorce."

Seeing Cameron in a sorry state, he uttered a redundant inquiry, but for the first time, he brought up the divorce which she opposed too much together with his parents.

She looked at Aubrey standing beside him, smiling.

Without a moment's hesitation, she understood the reason for his divorce. For his persistence of wanting her to agree on divorcing him.

"I agree."

Her trembling lips uttered a few words hoarsely as a response, trying hard to suppress the sob that was about to come out.

Noah seemed somewhat surprised.

After all, every time in the past when he mentioned divorce, she would plead and hysterically refuse to let go, even would go through the lengths in which she will use his family to threaten him.

But this time, she unexpectedly agreed readily after seeing him with another woman.

Noah did not feel pleased at all just like he expected if Cameron agreed to the divorce, furrowing his brows, he narrowed his eyes at Cameron.

"Wait for the divorce papers to process then. I will call you when it's the time that we will meet in the Civil Affair Bureau entrance"

Cameron heart tightened, his resolute words made her close her eyes to cover the painful feeling in her pupils. Nodding her head, she turned around and left, finally letting the tears she been holding hard fall.
