Adopting to the Family

The people at the end of the phone call went silent for a moment before a howling voice sounded.

"Oh huhu... Our baby girl is mad at us. She won't call us her family anymore, so heartbroken. We really should tie Noah up and beat him up to death."

The howling was so loud that not only Cameron twitched her lips but also Noah and the secretary twitched the corners of their eyes as they listened to these childish words.

It gets even worse than that when the grandpa, who was so majestic earlier, also sobbed as he acted childishly towards Cameron.

"Cameron, our dear granddaughter, don't be angry at us. Be angry only to that fool idiotic grandson of mine. No, he will not be my grandson anymore. I will abandon him and remove him from our family genealogy! How does it sound if we adopt you to our family? Don't worry about compensation or anything our dear granddaughter, you will inherit the mansion that is intended for Noah and the 20% share of the Everest Company, you will be the princess that our family hold in their palm, how's that sound?" the people at the other side of the phone, the little brothers, the uncles, the little cousins and every in laws that is present at the other side of the phone all echoed their agreement to what the patriarch had said.

20%. Even if she goes broke for a while, the dividends of the 20% share coming from the Everest Company will let her live her life to the fullest even after the divorce is processed and done.

But Cameron, Noah, and the secretary, coupled with Aubrey, who had wide eyes, were silent after hearing the words of the patriarch of the Everest family. The words seemed to be so awkward for some ordinary people to hear.

The secretary was speechless but chose to be silent and just listened quietly with a gossipy heart.

Noah was also silent for a moment after hearing what his grandpa said, but then he reacted after hearing that the shares would be given to Cameron, the woman who will soon be an outsider in their family.

He could give a lot of billions to this woman as a one-time payment in compensation, but never the shares that only true families should possess.

But the patriarch seemed to not think about what Noah said, even humphing at the tone that was used by this ungrateful bastard towards him.

"Whether I give a share to Cameron or not is not up to you. The Everest company is not yours but mine, young man. It seemed you are already too old for you to even forget such a crucial thing! You can't be saved anymore, you are turned into a confused fool by that scheming bitch so I am depriving you your rights of having to inherit anything from the main house, including the Everest Company, let your cousins handle it, they will do better than you. You will also be remove from the family genealogy of Everest family, so you really can't meddle with our affairs anymore from now on and in the future. And oh, if you planned on wanting to change your surname, feel free to tell us. We will celebrate for it" the patriarch harrumphed as he once again scolded Noah severely and said some harsh and scathing words that people with weak mind will surely cry for.

It's a pity that Noah did not have a weak mind; his personality was even on par with the patriarch, so after listening to his grandfather's harsh words speechlessly, Noah's forehead twitched as he stopped the secretary from having to type what the old man said earlier on the compensation page.

Noah gritted his teeth, saying forcefully, "Grandpa! Aubrey is not a scheming bitch, and whether you like it or not, she will soon be my wife and the mother of my child, so please treat her better from now on. I will not take your words of wanting me to be removed from the family genealogy seriously, but please, there will be no next time." Aubrey put on a touching expression, but she was thinking of hundreds of ways to kill the Everest family when she finally married to the door.

The subject involved only had a plain reaction, so the secretary can't fully display what it meant to feel excitement.

"Grandpa, it's not that appropriate if you formally adopt me into the family. I was once your grandson's wife; it's very inappropriate if you adopt me into your family now," Cameron softly began.

The patriarch voice was replaced by Noah's mother's irritated voice: "Who cares about that stinky boy? We remove him from our family genealogy so you won't feel it's inappropriate. Who needs him? We only need you. We don't care if he starved to death outside with his little mistress; he got the money to support himself and that fox anyway. Her calm voice without any attachments made Noah eyes flicker.
