Heartbroken

Noah furrowed his brows. Hearing Aubrey suddenly shouting hysterically like that, he was starting to think that he also did not know about Aubrey at all. His expression became even more unpleasant. Aubrey, who felt the low temperature on Noah, quieted down, but she still felt unwilling to give Cameron $500 million as compensation for the divorce.

She secretly lowered her hand, tugging the corner of Noah shirt, whispering through gritted teeth, "You can't give her $500 million. That's a lot of money to waste on someone that is not worth it."Noah softened his face. He thought for a moment that Aubrey was selfish and greedy for his money.

It turned out her reason was this.

He caressed Aubrey's cheeks gently but the response that came out of his mouth infuriated Aubrey more, but she did not show it outside, lest Noah suspect the personality she carved up around him was fake.

"A $500 million is worth it on spending to this woman if it means I got to be with you." Noah slightly glanced at Cameron in the corner of his eyes, seeing her lifeless and unmoving appearance. He felt a tinge of guilt for a moment before it disappeared after being confused. Why would he feel that way?

Aubrey did not say anything more as Cameron nodded towards the secretary, quietly watching the drama unfold in front of his eyes.

As he typed another page, which contained the compensation for the wife from the divorce, a harsh ringtone suddenly interrupted the quietness that filled the room once again.

Cameron did not react to such a harsh tone since she already knew that her soon-to be ex-husband had a peculiar taste that did not suit his appearance at all.

Except for Aubrey, who was the closest to Noah and received quite the shock, the secretary who was already printing a page felt a bad premonition after seeing Noah on a phone call.

As expected, when Noah got his phone from his pocket naturally after appeasing Aubrey with a slightly unpleasant expression since he did not know that the woman, he loved would be such a coward, his brows furrowed even further as he saw who the caller on the phone was.

He thought that the person on the other side of the phone might already know what was happening, he took a deep breath and sighed, finally giving in as he answered his grandfather's call, "Grandpa."

Aubrey's eyes flashed after she heard the shrill voice that came out of the phone.

Her lower lips were bitten hard as a bit of hatred resurfaced inside her eyes.

"You are fucking idiot! Fool! Do you want to die?! Who told you to divorce my baby granddaughter?! Who gave you the courage, you idiotic grandson?! Come back here now in the main house! You need a good beating to learn your lesson and make you think more clearly about your decision!!" His grandpa's shrill voice echoed as Aubrey lowered her head to cover up the ugly expression on her face.

She knew that the Noah family didn't approve of her in the slightest and even designed an accident for her in which she lost her life.

If Noah was not too obsessed with her, the constant accidents his family always arranged for her might have led her to her early death.

Noah did not pay any attention to Aubrey, so he did not see the ugly expression on her face, but Cameron does. Her lips lifted up slightly, looking at Aubrey in disdain. Aubrey, who happened to catch the disdain and contempt in Cameron's eyes, wished to dig a hole for her to hide in on the spot.

Noah furrowed his brows as the secretary who was about to print the new page of compensation cancelled all the printing documents. He just thought that the compensation would be changed once again because the in-laws were already calling for their grandson or son. And judging from the fact that the words that were uttered from the other side of the phone completely took the side of the wife that will soon be ex-wife, it will be no wonder that the ex-wife will receive a huge compensation again, bigger than the $500 million that the two rich kids said is just a penny for them.

The secretary wanted to think a little bit more by himself, but he couldn't bring himself to do so when his nosy side once again came out when he heard another voice from the other side of the phone.

"Give the phone to Cameron, we will talk to her. There is no sense talking to an idiotic son like you. I really don't know how I gave birth to a son that is such a fool that you can't even distinguish a gold coin from a copper coin! You went in for a cheapskate that will give up her dignity to please anyone than an expensive diamond waiting for someone to crack herself open to shine everywhere! You are really a disappointment at judgement!" a woman's voice that seemed to be Noah's mother since it kept calling Noah as his idiotic son flared out as she angrily ordered Noah to give the phone to Cameron.

Noah had a helpless expression after being called an idiot over and over again by his parents and grandparents, but no matter how much they called him that, he would never change his decision.

Unless there is an unexpected factor that could make him think that there was an error in his judgment, but he does not think that there will be errors in his judgment since he was a businessman.

Businessmen don't make any mistakes, they only chase after the things that would greatly benefit them, not to make a loss for their business.

Choosing Aubrey over Cameron was the right choice for him if he wanted long-term obedience and was not that greedy for money.

Even though Aubrey did her best to please everyone, its better than a woman that have pride on her bone that does not know how to back down or give in at all.

Therefore, even though he was cursed too loudly by his own family that he was an idiot, he was helpless about it, but he did not hold a grudge inside his chest, even for a little bit. He knew that between him and Cameron, his family that longed for a woman that they could spoil for, loved Cameron more than him.

But even though he does not hold any grudges, that does not mean that Aubrey does not.

After being compared to Cameron and even being named a copper coin, the hostility inside Aubrey's chest was getting bigger and bigger.

Sooner or later, she will let those family members taste the humiliation she felt today!

Cameron took the phone from Noah without even sparing a glance at Noah or Aubrey, who were already full of hate towards the Noah family.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Everest." Her soft voice was so pleasing to the ears, but what she uttered made the people at the side of the phone heartbroken and even cussed out angrily on the spot, earning a smack the four of them could hear clearly from the other end of the phone call..
