My arm suddenly felt weak, and Rosalynn withdrew her hand from mine. I stood frozen, observing her tear-streaked face, her eyes a bit hazy yet filled with anticipation for my response. A discomfort stirred within me, as if it squeezed my heart tighter than any bullet wound ever could.
