Chapter 59: Nausea

Rosalynn’s POV.

"Don't go, please."

Despite my thousand attempts to persuade Nolan and worry for his wound, his coat slipped from my grasp, and I stood still watching him vanish from this room.

The rumble of the engine echoed up to the second floor of the mansion, and I chuckled mockingly as tears fell involuntarily. I knew I was being selfish, but his disregard for himself, rushing to her side immediately, pained me. It was as if he was reminding me that Christine always came first.

Descending to the living room and facing Anne, I embraced her, gently patting her back to reassure her, "It's okay, he'll be fine. I called Alex and requested his car's location. Alex will come to help him soon."

"Are you okay, Rosa?" Anne took my hand, concerned.

"Of course, I'm fine." I tilted my head, smiling calmly and shrugged, then led her to my piano, "I've been composing a new song lately, would you like to hear it?"
